Hi-Lawn Washington Reviews
Was there for festival and entertainment.
The rooftop was a little hot , but did have a cooling tent area where you could relax and have a drink and something to eat. The vendors were courteous and helpful.

Hi-lawn is a great space to sit and eat food you've grabbed from Union market or any of the surrounding eateries, but I would never suggest ordering from here. I came with my friend the other evening and we ordered what we thought was a fishbowl drink to split for $22. Now, I was assuming that true to its name, we'd be served a pretty large drink in a typical fishbowl-style glass, fitting for 2 people. $22 seemed pretty appropriate at the time, but when the drink came out, we were sorely mistaken. Instead of getting a fishbowl, our drink was in a standard 19/20oz wine glass. $22 for a pretty middle of the road cocktail is ridiculous, but advertising it as something it clearly isn't is just wrong.
Bingo anyone? The honey and I met friends for date night
Bingo anyone? The honey and I met friends for date night in Union Market and we continued the mid week couples date at Hi Lawn! I love Hi Lawn and never knew they had Bingo on Wednesdays! It literally got packed for Bingo! Super cute! Ambiance is causal and a great place to hang out with friends. Is it expensive? I would say it's reasonable considering the area. If you are balling on a budget don't come. The price point is definitely reflective of the client and customer they want. I get it and approve! Not sure why people complain, if you can't afford drinks at a premium while living in the city, stay home! Or go to places that don't have a high rent, clearly this place is not cheap! They serve Food! I haven't tried but by the looks of it, looks delicious! Have to definitely come back and try it out. I recommend! Love this place and will return as it is my old stomping ground.

Nice food and drinks up here! They do lots of events, and I've even gone up with friends with some games to spend an afternoon. It's a bit pricey but a lovely spot if you're looking for a grassy rooftop with good tunes.

The contractor with the grey hair was so unnecessarily rude
The contractor with the grey hair was so unnecessarily rude and unhelpful I will never go back. Have lived in the neighborhood for years and always understood that this place was more about the vibes than the food, drinks, or service but tonight I received the worst service and will not be back. Have lived in the neighborhood for years and previously attended this spot. The food and drinks are nothing to write home about but the vibes are fun. Tonight I went up to see the fireworks. I understand that space limited and didn't see open reservations on the site but it also states that they keep 50% of tables open for walk ins. I got there early and a lot of tables had reserved signs but about 6 at the end did not. I got there early while all was empty and sat down. I spent $150 on mediocre food, drinks, and service to be there early and steak out the table. At 8pm I was told this table was reserved and when that table got there we'd have to move. I communicated that this had no reserved sign and was told they ran out and I said wish this was communicated earlier as I wouldn't have stayed and it was now too late to move venues in time. I did understand it was too late to change this but wasn't met with an apology or offer to try to make it right but a shrug and smile and walk away. Later I was asked to move (which I knew was coming) and asked if it was possible to seat the other tables (which had reserved signs and people had ignored them and had been there shorter time and spent less money) could be sat first and I could hold mine if a reservation was a no show (which they had). I was asked "well this reservation is here and what do you want me to tell my reservation that they are shit out of luck". I would never when I was serving had asked a customer that and certainly would have at least offered an apology or an offer to make it right (alternative placement, discount, etc.) but was given none of that. I got up as asked but will not be back. I get this isn't a fine dining restaurant but I don't want to be disrespected over a miscommunication starting on the establishments side.
I stopped by Hi Lawn for the first time for the Night
I stopped by Hi Lawn for the first time for the Night Market, which frequents new venues so that Washingtonians have the opportunity to indulge in Asian culture for both food and culture. They had a variety of vendors and their own bars for the locals to enjoy. I can definitely say that Yunnan was my favorite option. I will say that I wasn't able to try as much as I wanted to for the simple fact that it was completely packed. I understand that everyone wanted to get in as quickly as possible. However, a little more door control would've been appreciated for the good of all. This wasn't my first Night Market, however it will most likely be my last one at this venue. I appreciate the venue in itself, however with this being a rain or shine event (and believe me did it rain) it left something to be desired.

We ended our Teacher Appreciation Week with a Happy Hour at Hi-Lawn. The weather was perfect to sit outside and enjoy our food and drinks. I appreciate that they have games and the environment was family friendly. The bartenders were quick and knowledgeable about the cocktails being served. I will be back to hopefully experience the Bloom Room.

We arrived to Union Market on a Friday night and I just wanted a little rooftop time. We got an aperol spritz and a beer for about $24 dollars and then just sat and enjoyed them at a picnic table. We didn't order food but looked at the menu which was bar food/snacks! And the service we did have was quick. I'd go again and enjoy with friends!
We came here on a Friday closer to 10pm in April.
We took the elevator up. They have a pretty large roof area and the weather was nice. It was not crowded so we found a table to sit easily. Then we scanned the QR code to place our order. They came with our order fairly quickly. We just ordered drinks and one thing of fries. My drink included lavender and the taste took over the drink. If I came back, I would try something different. The fries were nothing special and the salt was not evenly distributed throughout the fries. They did well for munching food while drinking. We had a nice and chill time here.
Go ! Fun vibe !
Great vibe here . Fun places to eat all walkable . Shopping available as well as vintage shops . Yellow in the morning; El Presidente for snacks and drinks ; the Anselm indoor or outdoor seating. La Coseche for happy hour or wine bar . Lots of choices .
Upscale Food Court with Over 40 Vendors Offering Wide Variety of Cuisines
The Union Market District is located in revitalized NoMa which is a former industrial area of the city that is now filled with modern condos and high-rise apartment buildings. The Union Market District is a hip area with shops, restaurants, bars, art galleries, live music and other entertainment options. It all surrounds the actual Union Market which is an upscale food court with over 40 vendors offering a wide variety of cuisines and food options. Great place to stop by for lunch. Everyone can find something that will satisfy their taste. I had trouble picking between getting Thai, empanadas or a dosa but settled on a great classic Pastrami on Rye sandwich from Harvey's Market.
Great variety too few seats
I absolutely love the variety of food and the quality of food, although the ice cream was a bit of a letdown. What stands between this place and a five-star review is available seating. For the number of vendors the seating is wholly inadequate. This is definitely one of the best places in the DC area for that food court sort of vibe.
Good mixture of places
A little something for everyone. Had DanDan, Creamery, On Toast, and few other places. Prices were average and the good was all decent
Very good place to eat; lots to choose out of all the food Kiosks !
Not cheap but very good food ! This place was recommended by a taxi driver on our way back from to the hotel. We were not disappointed, food choice is amazing and ended up being very good ... The girls had a very good pizza and my wife and I tried out some Ramens ! Good ambiance, since it's seating is scattered across the place inside the food market. Seemed very popular as it was pretty busy, even late at night !
Great food hall and must-do in DC!
What a fun food hall!! There’s so much variety to choose from, and it has such a fun atmosphere! Definitely worth a stop in if you’re in the NoMa area of DC!
Great Visit
Great place for foodies-people watch..snack up! Small vendors and rooftop for fam/children. Visited on Sunday PM brunch- perfect!
Good.
Very cool place to visit. We were soaked when we arrived by foot on Sunday after walking several blocks in the rain. Lots of vendors to choose from. Not much seating but we found a place without problem. Banana Blossom: Pho Ga…after ordering told they were out of chicken and offered to replace with another protein (fine with this). Then, they said “we got you”…apparently they “found some chicken”. (Okaaay). I asked for Thai Basil and they said no problem, it’s gonna be added to the bean spout bag (great!) Given bad with basil and jalapeños (?) Me: hey, could I please have some bean spouts with this? Them: sorry, we’re out. (Oh.) Food was good and hot, but I basically had broth noodles with green onions and a couple mystery pieces of chicken…kind of wished I had a complete dish ($17)
Will return
Great foodd venue. Loads of choices which went down well with the family. Something for everyone. Only down side I'd say is the amount of seating but we didn't have a problem at 7pm. Will return.
Great Food Hall
Fabulous food hall environment with fun easy to eat restaurants. We ate at Puddin', delicious! They also offered samples, so we got to try a few options. Don't bring cash, only debit and tap options lol.

Let's say Peter has a great morning and decides to take his three friends to Hi-Lawn Washington at 6 PM the same day.
He checks the restaurant's website and sees that no reservations are available. He then looks at the Hi-Lawn Washington page on AppointmentTrader, but finds that there are no user postings either.
That's where the community-driven bid process comes in.
Peter can place a bid on AppointmentTrader, which serves as a reward for any community member who chooses to work on securing the reservation. AT then notifies experienced users who may be able to help.
Step-by-Step Process
1.) Setting a Reward (Bid)
* AppointmentTrader uses historical data to recommend a reasonable reward amount for securing a reservation - let's say $100.
* Peter really wants to go, so he increases the bid (or reward) to $200.
* At this stage, the reservation does not exist yet.
2.) A Community User Picks Up the Bid
* ElaborateHouse74, an experienced AT user, has a strong track record of successfully securing reservations and low refund requests, they receive a notification about Peter's bid.
* ElaborateHouse74 picks up the bid, meaning they will now work on securing the reservation.
* Peter can now talk to ElaborateHouse74 for any questions Peter may have as ElaborateHouse74 user fills the bid.
3.) Finding the Reservation
* ElaborateHouse74 now uses their connections at Hi-Lawn Washington to secure the table.
* If they successfully get the 6 PM table for four, Peter receives a confirmation that the reservation has been secured.
* If ElaborateHouse74 fails to secure the reservation, the bid is returned to the pool so another user can try.
4.) Payment & Protection
* Once the reservation is secured, ElaborateHouse74 receives the $200 reward which is credited to ElaborateHouse74's AT balance, where users manage their own funds and can withdraw via available payout options such as bank transfer, PayPal, or Zelle.
* Peter can now enjoy the dinner with his friends at Hi-Lawn Washington!
* As with all transactions on AT, disputes and no-show fees are handled through the platform's community-driven resolution system. Users with a strong track record are incentivized to fulfill bids successfully, and community members can report issues to maintain trust in the marketplace.
