It was just an awful stay.
We planned to spend two nights there and we finally left after 12 hours. Rooms have not be renovated since the 80ยดs! If you like bedsides lamps with yellow owls and 2 stars hotel bathroom, this is your place! We were supposed to get a room with seaview but we could not see anything ! Oh yes sorry...we could get a small seaview only by standing on our bed ! There was zero privacy because with a room at 1,000 โฌ / night you are entitled to see your neighbors walking in front of your room as their is no private terrace ! Last, I have just checked my bank account and they over charged us 300โฌ! It is scandalous, they are thieves! It's a scam! It is false advertising ! We were dreaming to go there for years, but we've been so disappointed!
Be the first to ReplyService was terrible, food mediocre.
Spilled a drink on us even broke the glass and were only given a "free " drink. I was very unhappy with the level of service we received at a Michelin star restaurant. Don't waste your money!

Beautiful hotel - classic Italian simplicity - la dolce vita! Very chic spot on the Tuscan coast. The "beach", which is tiered platforms along the coast is simply stunning. Excellent service.I loved pretty much everything about our stay except the grill and drinks menu were both offensively expensive. 19 euro for latte and most glasses of wine started 25 euro - this is Italy!? I don't mind the room price but don't nickel and dime on a latte.

Be the first to ReplyI know this might sound crazy for a Michelin 1-Star
I know this might sound crazy for a Michelin 1-Star Restaurant, but despite having a fantastic and special evening with our friends, for the money (and relative to what you can get for that money in Italy today -July 2015) this high-end Il Pellicano restaurant isn't worth it. Downgrade to the cheaper version in the same hotel is our recommendation. We each had the โฌ165 tasting menu and besides the nouvelle portion sizes being unnecessarily small, the wine list filled with seemingly fair prices โฌ80-โฌ125 options offered little in terms of quality for that money. When you seriously start confusing the amouse bouches with the actual dishes you know you're in for more service (which was outstanding!) and view (also nice, but filled with moneyed Americans with their heavy plastic surgery indulging partners) than dining experience. Classically, there are at least four desert courses (we lost count after 4 hours of the rest).
Be the first to ReplyWe just spent two dreamy nights here on our honeymoon.
What a spectacular place. When your on your way, you don't think your ever going to find it. Tiny back roads, and there is nothing nearby. Finally, you arrive to the gates and the magic that holds Il Pellicano. We were taken to our room, and to be honest we ended up switching rooms as the first room was far off in a cottage and had an old bathroom. The new room was a junior suite in the main building with stunning views of the Mediterranean. We had our own patio and a new gorgeous white marble bathroom. Sheets were very nice and the bed was comfortable. I did not love the pillows. They have their own line of organic bath products and while the bottles are adorable, I didn't love the smell or quality of the products themselves. We dined in both of the restaurants, the formal two michelin star restaurant as well as the more casual Pelli Grill. Both were excellent and make it easy to stay at the hotel all day long. The beach area is the most dramatic and gorgeous that I have ever seen. They have an excellent snack menu with a long assortment of homemade ice teas and lemonade. It's lovely to spend the entire day here. We swam in the ocean even though it was absolutely freezing. It was fun nonetheless. There is a beautiful spa and gym. We had massages that were ok, and I had a great polish change. The gym had a lovely selection of machines, weights and waters. To sit and have a cocktail before dinner was just heavenly. They have a very talented pianist and they bring you the most gourmet snacks while you enjoy your pre-dinner drink. They brought us dog bowls and a bed for our little dog and were friendly but he was not allowed at restaurants, which seems to be a common theme in Italy. Overall a fabulous hotel and I cannot wait to return.
