A happy stay
We had a lovely time staying at the pretty Hotel Alpenblick as part of a group. The room, food, wine and service were all excellent. We were fortunate to have a snowy morning too! It's not far from the train station and the bus stop is even closer.

Hotel Alpenblick resembles a typically Swiss chalet style building but with all the modern necessities required of the inquiring traveller. The hotel is conveniently located for train and bus connections into both the high Alps and the towns and cities of central Switzerland. The restaurant food is of a high calibre and the wine list is extensive. The beer is locally brewed and is of excellent quality. The hotel staff are a lovely bunch of friendly folks who ensured our stay was thoroughly enjoyable and without any hassle. Recommended.
Be the first to ReplyLovely Traditional Swiss Hotel
A lovely Hotel in a traditional Swiss style. The staff we are all very friendly and helpful. Our room was very comfortable and clean. The time span for breakfast was very helpful from 7.15am - 10.00am. Only a short walk to the train station where you can access most places from.

Plus point . Shower was good and bed comfy . There it ends . Reception staff , aside from Daniel were all surly . The food was terrible . Breakfast the same dreary offering every day . Packed lunch of two dry sandwiches / egg/ cake and apple . But the piece de resistance was the atrocious 5 course dinner . Only to be excelled by the fondue night . Raw chicken beef and turkey strips boiled by ourselves in a broth . A series of the best sauces from a jar and chips . A sorry state for a fondue and very below standard food hygiene with such raw meats . It was very dissapointing . Not enough staff for each sitting so at any given time at least one person was without food awaiting service . Switzerland is a lovely country and Wilderswill is pretty . But the hotel let me down .

The Alpenblick is a lovely traditional hotel in the peaceful and picturesque village of Wilderswil and only a 10 minute or so walk from the local train station. We have stayed here several times with Rail Discoveries and have never been disappointed. Mark & Yvonne
Be the first to ReplySuperb holiday experience
Stayed at the Hotel Alpenblick as part of the Rail Discoveries trip to the region including the Jungfrau. The Hotel is delightful with a rustic feel. Our comfortable room was located in the annexe directly across the road. It was tastefully decorated, comfortable and had all the digital facilities expected in a hotel these days. We also benefitted from a balcony. In staying as part of a group, we understood most rooms were unique and quite different, some with better facilities than others. However, ours was fine and gave us no cause for complaint. All the staff were very accommodating, friendly and attentive. The food in the restaurant was much better than anyone expected, the evening meal consisting of 5 courses with choices made each morning. The evening meal was worthy of that from a top class restaurant in the UK. The whole holiday was superb and memorable, made even better with very friendly fellow travellers. Full marks to the Hotel for being part of our memorable holiday. I'd recommend a stay here to anyone.
Be the first to ReplyRoom not fit for purpose for a weeks stay
Starting with the good points about the Alpenblick; the location is great; and the restaurant staff were very friendly and helpful and we had had no problems with the food. Our room however left a lot to be desired. Whilst it was quaint and clean it was not fit for purpose for a weeks stay as it had very little storage, consisting of a wardrobe with about 10 hangers, which was adequate but apart from that all there was, was a narrow shelve in the wardrobe and a small bedside draw which meant we had to live out of a suitcase for the week, which for the price we paid for the room is something I don’t expect to have to do. Coupled with this is they advertise free high speed wifi which was non-existent in our room, on the odd occasion when you got a strong enough signal to log on (at one spot in the room), it was so slow and unreliable it was unusable. Both these issues could be easily fixed as there was adequate space under the worktop in the room to fit a reasonable size chest of draws, and the wifi issue could be sorted with a suitable wifi mesh system. On our first morning half the sockets tripped out in our room, when I spoke to the reception about this they were unhelpful and disinterested, told us it was our fault as we had ‘plugged things in incorrectly’ and as it was Saturday it wouldn’t be fixed until Monday; luckily after words from our courier it was fixed later that day; but the reception staff over the first few days were very abrupt to say the least. Also I find it unacceptable to get an email from the Hotel asking us to only put positive reviews on Tripadvisor, and if we have negative comments to contact them directly, surely this totally undermines the purpose of Tripadvise and distorts what people actually think of the Hotel.

We spent a week here. Great location for exploring this stunning area of Switzerland. Romm was clean spacious and what you would expect of a traditional swiss hotel. Food was very well prepared and presented. Staff were first class.

Very rude to people. Do not go here if you want a positive experience. The restaurant is highly overrated and the rooms are poor. Staff not treated properly and it shows in how they interact with guests.
Be the first to ReplyWonderful traditional hotel
Lovely and very charming little hotel. Very friendly service. Spotless rooms and very comfortable beds! We very much enjoyed our stay and everything about it. The hotel has 2 restaurants: a traditional Swiss one where we ate the best fondue we'd ever had; and a 1 Michelin-starred restaurant where we had one evening meal. Both experiences were excellent, the service and food were irreproachable. I recommend everything about this hotel!
Be the first to ReplyLovely Hotel
This typically Swiss hotel, a 10 minute (uphill) walk from the station is comfortable and friendly. Breakfast is a buffet with cereals, fruit salad, yoghurts, lovely breads, meat, cheeses, eggs (including boil your own), and a variety of homemade jams (I loved the apricot and vanilla). The evening meal was several courses, with generous portions and speedy service. I have a food intolerance, and there was a bit of a muddle at times, as the waiting staff were not sure what I could have, but I never went hungry! Thank you.
Be the first to ReplyTRADITIONAL SWISS EXPERIENCE
Absolutely first-rate traditional chalet-type hotel, characterful, comfortable room, excellent food & drink, great location in quiet village centre, 10 mins walk from station. Friendly, efficient and helpful staff. Stayed as part of group holiday, everyone seemed v satisfied.

Lovely cosy and traditional room. Staff very efficient and courteous. I loved walking around the village which was typically Swiss surrounded by beautiful scenery. Enjoyed the food and would highly recommend. Thank you.
Be the first to ReplyGreat Alpine Hotel with great friendly staff
Very picturesque hotel with alpine look. Great friendly staff who were at hand to help. Good shower and comfortable bed and on asking for more pillows these were provided within the hour. The best of all was the food especially the evening meal which was part of our all inclusive package.
Be the first to ReplyA perfect Swiss Chalet hotel!
Staying here on a Rail Discoveries tour we enjoyed every minute. Excellent food, good service and comfortable rooms ( we had an upgrade). The hotel is picturesque especially in the snow and Wilderswill is convenient for many mountain peaks
Be the first to ReplyAn ideal base for exploring Interlaken and the Jungfrau region.
This family run hotel offers comfortable rooms with mountain views in a village close to Interlaken. A short walk away is a station leading to the Bernese Overland railway system leading to the Jungfraujoch and via Murren and cable cars the famous Bond Schilthorn. The food is excellent: breakfast, packed lunches and dinners. We were part of a group based in the hotel for 5 nights on a full board basis. Staff were welcoming, attentive and responsive to enquiries and requests. Breakfast was a marvellous selection of cereals, fruit, meats, cheeses, fabulous breads and lovely coffee. It is a quiet hotel focused on comfortable rooms and ensuring good food at the beginning and end of the day to enable guests to venture out and enjoy the fabulous region of the Jungfrau or further afield to Lucerne or Bern easily accessible by rail via Interlaken. We would happily consider staying here again.
Be the first to ReplyPerfect Christmas
We returned to Hotel Alpenblick once more but this time for Christmas which was a first for us. We had a wonderful time with our Rail Discoveries group and it was so good to get away from the UK's over commercial idea of Christmas. Our upgrade room was spacious warm and comfortable and the food was of a very high standard. We will certainly consider doing the same for Christmas 2023.
Be the first to ReplyRude Staff
We arrived and didn't know that the reception would be at the hotel. The cleaning lady, who was not identified (a short woman with glasses) in an absolutely arrogant way, expelled us from the chalet, ordering us to go to the reception (we didn't even know where that was). At breakfast, more rude staff. A woman, also unidentified but whose name I asked was "Michele", unfriendly and not very helpful. We won't be back!
Be the first to ReplyAmazing hotel but bad staff
We love the rooms and breakfast, but everytime we asked questions to Mrs Michelle she was not nice, always rolling her eyes. Not kind and helpful as it shoulf be. These can ruin a experience. But very cozy place.
Be the first to ReplyFabulous!
We had stayed at the Alpenblick before (pre covid) and really enjoyed our stay but this holiday with Rail Discoveries was better than we remember it. The hotel is ideally situated with only a short walk to the railway station and those incredible swiss trains. Our room was excellent as were the staff and the 4 course dinner was of a high standard. It was great to see the owners Richard and Yvonne again and hope we can return to you very soon. Mark & Yvonne
Be the first to ReplyNo place for vegetarians
The location of this typical Alpenan lodge was perfect with views of the the Jungfrau snow capped range. Rooms were spacious but rather dated. The staff were friendly and very accommodating. The patron/chef seemed to take them for advantage. As vegetarians we were very poorly catered for often hungry.and I was served meat in a soup which was denied. Discussions did not improve things.

My daughter, granddaughter and I stayed here in February with a small group on a Rail Discoveries holiday.
The hotel was charming, both the exterior and the interior - a real traditional chalet.
The location a few minutes from the railway station with a very quick journey time to Interlaken was ideal.
Our rooms - a twin and a single on the second floor with a shared balcony were small, but cosy and perfectly clean with good showers in the bathrooms. The view from the balcony looked down through the village but there were mountains all around.
Rail Discoveries booked us an inclusive package so we enjoyed a very good choice at the buffet breakfast, a daily packed lunch and a delicious 4/5 course evening dinner with red or white wine or beer to drink. there were 2 menu choices published daily in the morning - meat or vegetarian. We are all vegetarians and I confess to having been a little apprehensive about what we would be offered. However, the food was absolutely wonderful. The kitchen is obviously supervised by a Michelin chef but I hadn't expected so much Michelin quality food. The presentation was excellent, the portions more than adequate, the variety great. My granddaughter, aged 15 has been known to be a little conservative in her choices, but I can honestly say that here she tried everything she was offered and nearly always ate everything too. As for the daily cheese board - I don't think that I will ever be able to eat cheese back home without comparing it with the superb local cheeses that were offered here!
There was always water on the table and for those who wanted it the house wines flowed freely (during dinner service) and were of a good quality.
I loved this holiday and would happily have stayed longer.
I highly recommend this beautiful hotel.
