Based on other reviews, I was really excited to experience this place.TL;DR... Service was lacking, pompous, confrontational and overall a poor experience. The food was also mediocre. The details...We were quickly seated by the friendly hostess. Our table's runner was courteous, bringing us bottled water, bread and menus. We ordered an appetizer (char broiled octopus) that was tasty! We sat with our finished appetizers for a while, waiting for our waiter. During this time, our water was refilled with a nonchalant effort resulting in a little water being poured across our table. No biggie but the beginning of what was to get worse. I ended up having to ask for our runner twice so we can put in our entree orders. When the server did end up showing up, he seemed to be mildly upset that he had to be at our table. I ordered the Pappardelle Al Cinghiale. Apparently, I mispronounced it cause our server Antonio responded with, "Papparadell-aaaaaayyyyy?" with a smirk and raised eyebrow! We then waited for our entrees with a table that had empty plates on it. I stacked them in hopes they would be removed from our table but they just sat there for about 10 minutes until I asked that they be removed. It was another runner that said in a playful tone, "You don't like stacked plates on your table?" It was fun so no problem! Our food arrived (we also got the Angello wich was good) and my dish was REALLY bland and the noodles overcooked. I informed our runner (Antonio never returned throughout the meal) of this and he took my plate of food, saying that he would talk to the chef. He was quick to return saying," You should probably order something else because the chef said that's what you're gonna get." Since my partner was already eating, I decided to order another pasta dish and proceeded to wait through her entire dining time for my food to arrive before saying that I wanted the dish to go since she has already concluded eating. While waiting for my food to arrive in a box, I noticed the manager and called him over to inform him of our experience. I was hangry at this point and trying to stay professional took a lot of effort. The manager, Sebastian looked over my receipt and asked what it is that he could do for me. After explaining my poor experience, he claimed that the computers were down so the staff was behind and that he needed to leave and ask someone if there's anything he could do for me. This was after he stated that the restaurant had already comp'd the original pasta dish I ordered, not even bothering to find out that I was only able to take a few bites of the dish before asking about it and having it taken. While waiting for Sebastian to return, our runner actually came to our table, looked down at us and put his hands out in the expression of "What gives man!?" while saying "You didn't like my service?" I was shocked at this point because I can only assume the manager reprimanded him when Sebastian left us. At this point I realized that none of our helpers introduced themselves. I asked our helpers name and he said, "Gil, sir." Gil and the gentleman that took our appetizer plates were the most helpful people there for our table. (It was later, on our receipt that I saw our servers name was Antonio.) I apologized to Gil, saying that he was the best part of our experience there that night. The manager returned saying they comp'd our appetizer and the original pasta dish. My partner tried to correct him that the pasta dish wasn't comp'd but was actually taken from our table. The manager said he'd like to invite us back but by this point we wanted nothing to do with the place.Upon leaving, I asked for the owners contact info and sent him an email. That was last week and received no reply.
