Staff was inept and rude to the point where it ruined my meal. The food was actually good but the hostesses and wait staff turned my dinner into the most unpleasant dining experience of my life, no exaggeration. I will never return and would urge anyone reading this to avoid at all costs. There are plenty of other restaurants out there with good food and an inviting atmosphere. The entire time I spent at Indochine, I felt unwelcome.

Superb service. Vibes inside looked 10/10 although we sat outside which was cozy and a great vibe for a semi big group (we were 7 ladies). Inside looked super trendy and great music. Food was excellent and drinks were great. I'd like to add that we had one of us that had a pretty strict allergy and our server really went above and beyond to help accommodate her needs. Wish I remembered her name but she was tall and beautiful - shoutout to her for being so helpful. This place is a must try.

So cute, tight seating, stylish staff that treated us with kindness, the food was delicious and the dessert was magical (I love sweets). The drinks were delightful, cute experience, just a little tight and overly cozy seating
Be the first to ReplyGreat food and ambiance.
The service is even greater! We had two large suitcases as we were on our way to the airport. They took care of everything and made us feel welcome.

All things were wonderful: the service, delicate flavors, the snooty maiter de, and the great ambiance. When the bill arrived, I was astonished at the $14 charge for still water, aka tap water in your branded decanters. It put a damper on the whole evening. As an NYC er, eating at fine dining establishments is a fairly regular occurrence; I hope this doesn't become an SOP; there are too many great restaurants in NYC to choose from. au revoir

Stopped in for a drink, used the restroom and then was accused of stealing by some random waiter who dif not help us all night. Avoid, will not be back. Unsure why we were accused of stealing here? In fact, we were over dressed for the establishment as we were going somewhere else after...overall, bad vibes from the weird staff here, highly suggest management does a refresh of the staff roster

I had known and walked past Indochine many times over the years and had never had the opportunity to come for drinks or dinner. My fiancé and I were intrigued by the menu ambiance and reviews online and we agreed we had to go. I contacted the receptionist early yesterday morning inquiring whether to make a reservation for two for that evening. She was very friendly and assured that if we arrive between 7:15-7:30pm we could simply walk in. We were about an hour or so behind due to babysitting arrangements for our child. We apologized to the very friendly host and hostess who also guaranteed that it would only be a few minutes and that we could enjoy a cocktail at the bar. We sat and had a very attentive bartender who gave us great suggestions on wines and whiskeys. Within moments there was a very lovely table ready for us in the corner. We were blown away by the decor and how cozy the ambiance was. The patrons were glamorous and eclectic. The servers were dressed to the nines and very friendly and welcoming. We split the summer shrimp and chicken rolls served with in my opinion the best peanut sauce I have ever consumed. Then we split an order of the Shaking Beef-which was so delicious we sat in complete silence devouring such a wonderfully flavored steak. Our server was very busy at the moment when it was time for us to order another round of drinks, we caught the attention of another server asking if our server could put in another drink order for us. She gladly said no worries I'll put that in for you right away and moments later drinks arrived to our table. Talk about amazing teamwork and customer service! We capped off our evening there with some delectable espresso martinis while enjoying some amazing music playing on the speakers. I have never had such a wonderful dining experience in my entire life and let me tell you that I will be returning in the very near future. Indochine is a gem and a true staple in fine dining.
Be the first to ReplyGreat food presentation and preparation.
Outstanding flavors. The ambience is very comforting and reminds me of some of my travels in Asia. Plus good service too. Everyone friendly.
Be the first to ReplyTop tier service across the board.
The women are keeping that restaurant running very swiftly! The sea bass was fantastic. I went for a coworker's birthday and it was a group of 8 we were all very comfortable! Beautiful ambiance the drinks was perfect! This restaurant is really high standard and please order the tasting menu!

went on a thursday night and while the food was great the martinis were not good, the wine pours seemed small for the price, and the staff wasn't friendly. in particular one host at the end of the night was downright bitchy. while the ambiance was nice i would never return do to impolite wait staff. with the prices at this restaurant i expect better service
Be the first to ReplyCame here for our Valentine's Day dinner this year.
The ambiance was suiting for a nice intimate Tuesday dinner. We sat in the perfect corner of the restaurant that was equal parts tucked away while also giving and eagle eyed view of the entire restaurant--the restaurant filled quickly. Our waitress was very attentive and the food was delicious. I had the spicy shrimp with a side of rice , a lychee martini (strong), and ended with the chocolate mousse cake.I would definitely go back again.
Be the first to ReplyThe food is phenomenal.
Yes, the staff are tall, skinny, and beautiful but the food was not meant for the skinny everything is worth a try.

Out of 10 I would give it a 7I did enjoy being thereCocktails were very good. And strong. Had cucumber martini. Shared Thai ravioli. Delicious! Shared a shaky beef and a vegetable curry stew. Dessert was coffee cake with shaved coffee ice and caramel. It was nice enough. All good tasting. Prices quite high and wasn't wowed by food or experience. Service okayDecor festive 1950s tiki-like Very glad i went. Don't need to repeat.

This is one of the snobbiest restaurants i have visited in NYC. I am a seasoned diner all over NYC and enjoy many excellent upscale and down to earth spots but will not return here. If you are not the privileged at this restaurant, you aren't getting any reasonably good table. 4 of us were squeezed into a tiny booth which looks more like for 2-3. The cold and unbending hostess won't give you anything better. Mind you service is excellent and friendly and waitress was truly wonderful. Drinks were pretty good. Food was hit and miss. Kale salad and crab were delicious. Eggplant was average. Duck was superb. Veggie summer rolls pretty good. Founder in curry was not bad. Dessert was ok. If any of you know Le Colonial on 57 st that shut it's doorsFew years ago, it was in some ways similar to Indochine but they rivaled Indochine is flexibility, friendly hosts and warm welcoming vibe which a Indochine lacks.
Be the first to Replyi booked for a friend returning to visit .
I rang the restaurant to explain friend was a celiac and could not eat gluten . The restaurant told me my friend had also called and that all was good . They understood her allergies . The server would help. once we told the server her restriction the server pointed out dishes she could eat . As the starters arrived my friend questioned the oil her spring rolls were cooked in. we called a passing server who immediately moved tug sauce off her plate - NOT the sauce. She suddenly announced . Dont have the sauce . My friend had already had the sauce . Fearing she would throw up we left. we paid for our 'take out' My friend was in Tears fearing throwing up en route . The restaurant gave her a sick bag ! SeriouslyCharging us Not being across the allergies ! Not going back

i came here with friends last night for dinner and thought the food was really good, service as prompt and we didnt remember ever having to wait for anything. lovely restaurant nice décor and ambiance. . . very surprised by the food since they only had 3.5 stars but every single dish we ordered was amazing.
Be the first to ReplyALWAYS FABULOUS!!! Staff is gorgeous & professional.
Food was superb and drinks were divine. The setting is still CHIC AF.
Be the first to ReplyThe Asian fusion food is actually pretty good.
We got the Vietnamese bbq chicken, spring rolls, and sticky rice; plus a couple of glasses of wine. We sat at the bar right next to the maitre d stand and I wouldn't recommend these seats. The people waiting for their tables or drinks were breathing down your neck and they play the music pretty loud. It was on a Thursday night. Perhaps on the days they weren't as busy or if you reserve a table it would be a fun place to have dinner with friends.

One thing remains consistent since the 80s snooty service by skinny people! The food this time was nearly inedible, cold and tasteless! I don't think they even bothered with the most basic - salt! The booth we were given to accommodate 4 average sized adults barely worked - I guess they just want skinny people to feel comfortable. As to the ambiance, my friend was "attacked" by one of the potted decorative plants, which took about 15 minutes for our server to realize it might be a good idea to move the intruding plant. They even managed to screw up an expresso- serving it cold and watered down.... What has happened?? Finally, it took a while to get our coats as the person getting our coats stood around, reading and laughing at something on the screen at the entrance - or was she laughing at us?? HahahaPlease save yourself the snooty servers and expensive and inedible food and choose one of the many other fine Vietnamese restaurants.

Do not go here! Guy at the door is psycho and will not treat you with your respect. Staff was terrible and treated us terribly that we chose to walk away from dining here because of their actions. Maybe food is good, we will never know thanks to guy in the suit and glasses.

.. I am traveling from Australia with my sister and her fiancée and was given a recommendation to attend indochine... if I had known the sort of lack luster service, unimpressed waiters and pushy servers that run this restaurant I would have preferred to go anywhere else. The evening was the 1st of April 2022 and started on a low note after our table was given away, after we arrived 10 minutes late for our 6:45 booking (NY traffic 5 minutes, and waiting in line behind other patrons another 5 minutes) causing the 10 minute delay... which we were told was our fault as we should have called, after they had seen us waiting in line. We were given another table and told we had till 9:30 which we agreed too after we confirmed this on two occasions, thinking it was ample time to dine and enjoy the meal... wrong! After sitting down we were pressured to order straight away and get things going, when we had barely even opened the menu.... after ordering our drinks and meal, we did a bit of people watching only to see Staff on their phones, doing laps of the restaurant not engaging with patrons at all, I even had to get up to get their attention at one point as they refused to acknowledge me. Once our food was delivered, we took our time to enjoy the appetizers, but as we stoped for a brief moment to check the drinks menu once again, the waiter came over and began clearing our plates and dishes that clearly had ample amounts of food left.. we were shocked that they didn't even ask and several other staff did the same on multiple occasions, even when we stopped them, they looked very confused that we were telling them to stop taking away our dishes before we had finished ...very rude. After dealing with that issue, the final straw amongst other issues was when at the conclusion of the meal, we were asked if we wanted anything else, I asked for a cup of peppermint tea.. of which the waiter looked around and informed us he needed the table. At this point it was 8:45 and we were under the impression we has another 45 minutes until we had to vacate the table.... we then were told, they needed the table back at 9, Which was the 1st time we were told after they had told us twice we had till 9:30. At this point we asked to see the Manager, of which when approaching our table had an attitude and obviously didn't care. we explained our situation of being told we had until 9:30 and also mentioned how the staff kept clearing our plates and drinks even before we were finished... he told us that because we were late it was our fault and their was nothing he could do and they needed the table and it was also our responsibility to tell the waiters to stop taking our dishes away. He was extremely unhelpful, rude, an left a bitter taste in our mouths that tainted the whole experience... he was very patronizing and in a condescending tone mentioned he had removed the drinks from our check... thinking it would fix everything as he walked away without hearing us out. I wouldn't recommend this restaurant, there are so many more that have a better atmosphere and staff that are helpful and accommodating. Additionally the decor of the restaurant is tired and needed a uplift.. if the lights were not so dim which is most certainly used to mask the sad looking floor tiles and outdated palm leaves on the walls, it feels like a poor excuse for a place to dine. Indochine do better...
Be the first to ReplyAlways enjoy my time at Indochine.
The food is always good... Tonight had the kale salad which was plentiful and delicious. The staff is always so accomodating and sweet. Tonight, sat at the bar for a change and had a lovely conversation with someone who comes often and sits at the bar and has her meal on her own. The decor and atmosphere is so lovely, it makes going out alone so fun. The crowd is a nice mix of regulars who have been coming for over 30 years and the next generation. Some of my favorites are the Chilean Seabass, the steam raviolis, the crabcakes and the tofu salad. I never tire of the going there for drinks or a dinner.x

..restaurant is irrelavant It was great 15 years ago ...
Be the first to ReplyManager is unfortunately rude and inept.
Sat our table for 15 for a surprise birthday 40 minutes late, and refused to accommodate in the slightest sense. Ruined the entire surprise and no apologies! Instead, deflected the blame back to me. And thanked me for "telling him how to do my job!" We certainly won't be coming back here and got any group outing, I'd encourage others to do the same.

Came here my bday dinner with my family and the accommodated 10 people. Only bad thing was the table wasn't that big but that's only because of the size of out party. Other than that everything was great. Service was extremely attentive. We ordered the spicy beef salad and the fried spring rolls which was really good. Bottle of wine that was suggested was also really good. It really seemed like the bottle never ended. We ordered 2 duck entrees, pork collar, 2 shaking beef, 1 filet of sole, 1 red snapper and 1 Vietnamese chicken. Everything was cooked perfectly. And they gave us 2 desserts for my bday. 1 creme Brule and 1 mango and stick rice version. Be sure to make reservations and if anything take a cab. Would definitely come back and try the rest of the menu
