Had dinner there tonight before a show, and every single thing was perfect! Food, ambiance, and our waiter, Erik, was flawless. 10 out of 10!!!
Great restaurant.
The interior is beautifully decorated. Nice bar area. I sat outside. It was a warm night in May. I think they were a bit short on staff, but I was well served if not a little slow. Food choices were great. I had whipped ricotta with pita bread. Amazing. Had Domas a.k.a. grape leaves. Amazing. And I had this nice gnocchi for my meal. Couple glasses of Greek wine. Perfect dinner night.
Nice room.
Service was good. We had humus which included 1 freshly baked pita. It was very good - very flavorful. I had long island duck which had a piece of duck breast and a duck leg confit. It included a beet-blackberry salad. Salad was delicious - a unique combo that went well with the duck. My husband had branzino which he said was great. We ordered chocolate ganache for dessert which unfortunately came out hard as a rock. We mentioned it to our waitress and she immediately took the ganache back to the kitchen. She came back 10 min later with a "thawed" ganache and an order of doughnuts. The restaurant comp'd both desserts with their apologies. We also ordered DAWN OF ADONIS cocktail and GARDEN NYMPH cocktails which were both fantastic. Overall, a very nice meal and I would come back.

My friend and I ate there on a Thursday night and we're definitely coming back again. The service and ambience were great. I loved the live band they had playing there. We got the multiple spreads, endive salad and octopus for apps. I must say the octopus was probably the best i've had in the city. Tender and juicy on the inside and slightly crispy on the outside. For entrees we ordered the duck and lamb which were both equally excellent. Our server was friendly and welcoming and the staff was professional. #industrytable

The whipped feta and pita bread was awesome and so was my duck. Delicious meal before our play. Highly recommend. Actually better tasting food than the Michelin restaurant I ate at the night before.
I love the ambiance, the free entertainment, the wait staff
I love the ambiance, the free entertainment, the wait staff service and mostly the foods and drinks. A pleasant experience during the stay. With less expectations in coming here as invited by a friend to dine out. Our server Alice is the best. Plenty of food recommendations that will cater each one's limitation. Happy that we were allowed to shared plates with no service fee for our main courses. We have the option to pick between happy hour, pre theater and dinner menu. We opted for the Ala carte so we could try different choices. As we seldomly try Mediterranean cuisine, we picked what we think is best with the help of our server. We had quail legs and pita with tsaziki for appetizers, branzino fillet, grilled tuna sword, lobster ink squid and broccolini for main course and the Turkish pastry selection for desserts. Excellent choices! Serving size is small but just enough for small eaters. A bit pricy but worth each penny for the taste. Enjoyed all! There is a freebie entertainment from after 6:30 pm during our visit ( weekend). A recommended place for a good dining out in Midtown.
My fiancé and I had the pleasure of enjoying Easter Brunch
My fiancé and I had the pleasure of enjoying Easter Brunch and they did not disappoint. Everything was perfect from start to finish. Michael, our server, was excellent. His recommendations and service were the best we've had in a long time. He is an asset! The jazz trio that played, provided the perfect ambience for an incredible Mediterranean inspired brunch. Pomegranate Mimosas and all the cocktails are incredible. Son of Aphrodite is a great cocktail. The food was beyond incredible with amazing flavors and spin on traditional dishes. Eggplant was one of our favorites and the pita reminded me of being in Greece. We'll be doing Easter brunch again! Thank you for a great experience. Five stars all the way around.
I liked this restaurant! We were there for the Valentine's
I liked this restaurant! We were there for the Valentine's Day pre-fixe, which was very reasonably priced for the four course meal we received (at $115). There was live jazz and it was a very spacious place with high ceilings. It was a bit weird because it was a beautiful restaurant that was bizarrely attached to an office lobby - there was no wall or door in between, so you could see into the open space. The food was good, not spectacular. The lobster tagliatelle was far too salty but still good, the scallop was so yummy but only came with one , and the desserts were fabulous. The mezze starter was also great. The service was wonderful all around, and definitely the highlight of the meal. I'm glad I tried it!

We had a delicious dinner at Iris on a recent trip to New York. Alicia was our server and she gave us great recommendations and also made sure that we were served promptly so that we could make it to the theatre in time. ( Iris is a great pre-theatre restaurant as it is walking distance to the theatre district.) We had the winter Caesar salad, half-roasted chicken and moussaka, all which were delicious. We will definitely return to Iris when we return to New York.
Have a pre fixe theatre menu.
......BUT you need to ask !! Come on. So so wrong Many other choices.
If you’re hard up for a meal…
Dinner here was overpriced and underwhelming. A $20 retail bottle of Cabernet Sauvignon was $60 here, which I find usurious. Two filet mignon meals were okay at best, one being a strange cut with inedible sinew within. House salads had fresh ingredients and were fine.
Disappointed Diners
We visited the restaurant for a birthday with another couple. The setting is gorgeous but our experience overall was disappointing. The server was pleasant but gruff. The food was adequate, though my husband, whose birthday we were celebrating would not finish his prime rib. He found it tasteless and barely warm. He was so disappointed he didn't want to send it back. My scallops were fine - a bit too heavy with sauce. Veggies were steamed/boiled bagged baby carrots that had a touch of sweetness added. Rolls looked anemic and seemed like frozen to baked factory food. We had high hopes but wouldn't recommend for a special event. I'd suggest drinks on their patio to enjoy the splendid views of this lovely setting.
Just find another place to stay!
This hotel is average at best. Rating this hotel three stars is being generous. Other than the location which you can just visit for the day, there is no reason to stay here unless you are looking for an overpriced, outdated hotel experience. We stayed in the White Pine suite. The wallpaper was peeling in the bathroom, the room lacked proper lighting, and there were not sufficient electrical outlets to plug in modern devices. The room lacked basic hotel amenities and looked like it could use an upgrade on all fronts. A portable air conditioning unit took up much of the walkable space in an already small room. We were told on check-in that since we were only staying for 3 days, there would be no maid service. Unlike other reviewers, we actually thought the food at the restaurant was very good. It was possibly overpriced, but there was no other place close to eat. No fridge in the room meant just tossing what was not eaten. It is sad that this is the quality of a hotel in a New York State Park. Hopefully, they can attract some investors to upgrade the hotel and provide a proper guest experience for modern travelers.
Caroline's Cottage
We rented Caroline's Cottage for our daughter's wedding, and it was perfect for our small family to stay in, plus allow the opportunity for wedding guests to drop in and visit. The kitchen was well equipped with everything we needed to cook a meal, the layout of the cottage was comfortable. One thing to know is that the bedrooms are upstairs, and the bathroom is downstairs. (Minor inconvenience in the middle of the night.) The staff was very attentive and responsive to any questions or requests that we had. The beds were very comfortable, and we would definitely stay again if we were to go back to Letchworth. Letchworth is a beautiful state park and is definitely worth a visit if you have not been.
Don't bother
Just awful service and horribly over-price food. Lovely historic building and lovely location but the restaurant just fails at every level. We left feeling that we had inconvenienced them with our patronage and our food was poorly cooked and poorly presented.
Terrible Service/Mediocre Menu/Beautiful Surroundings
Made reservations for two on July 16th, 2023 for our 30th anniversary. From the minute we arrived the receptionist seemed to be in a bad mood. She was mumbling and would not make eye contact. We felt like we were inconveniencing her as she walked us to our table. After she seated us, the waitress served two other tables before us, even though we arrived before them. Very disorganized and slow service. This gave us plenty of time to view the terrible menu. We could easily predict that the meal would be lame and the prices ridiculous ($30 for simple chicken dish). We got up, walked out, and had a blast with great food at the Sierra in a few miles away. No pretense, great food and service, and fun atmosphere. In the 70's and 80's the Glenn Iris lived up to its grandeur and beauty, but now it only seems to pretend, very sad! The park is still a great place, but don't waste your money at the Glenn Iris Inn.
Pinewood Lodge left a lot to be desired
When we booked our room, the only one available with two beds was in the Pinewood Lodge. I called to make a reservation and within an hour of doing so realized I had booked the wrong day so called back to change it and was charged $20 to do so. The room was dark and dank. The sheets on the bed were mismatched colors (one grey, one white). The towels were old and also mismatched colors - like they had been inherited from someone's grandmother. If you want to stay in the park, they are the only game in town, and the staff was friendly, but I would consider this a last resort.
I need a shower
Room was pretty nice. Issues we had were no soap in the shower and the coffee maker was dirty. Brought it up when we checked out and the clerk never apologized or anything. She just said that happens with those bottles. When you pay close to $250 a night you expect the room to be nice and clean and have all amenities.

Hey @FluffyStar64, thanks for the question! When you place your bid the amount gets transferred in a deposit account, the second you either cancel your bid or a few minutes after the bid expires the funds are moved back into your main account from where you can refund it to your payment method or use for other transactions.
