Indescribable, fantastic to be praised. The atmosphere, the service, the quality of the food, all a pure 10. Malvasia perfect.
Be the first to Replystretch out and go to Momjan from Pjero... (+10 km) quite the opposite...
if you are Italian it's better to leave it alone...you'll move to the second row. it is clear that with courtesy and professionalism they invite you not to return. given that we are absolutely decent people... first "magna el can" then you. is the concept clear? as for the food... the seafood was excellent, fresh and well cooked - the fillet with truffles on the other hand has nothing to do with a fillet with truffles. when the owner came to collect the plate, observing that I had left some of the food, he told me that truffles are for rich people (what does that mean?) in reality the "truffle" was a "black web of truffle condiment" with no odor ...Painful attitude, it is necessary that poverty returns to him... on the other hand, we won't even go back for free! but fair price.

I was curious about how we would get on here as reviews are somewhat mixed. Situated in the middle of Brtonigla with plenty of parking nearby, dining occurs under a free-standing awning with the perimeter lined by robust shrubs so there is an air of privacy. Most tables were already taken when we arrived, so our reservation beforehand was worthwhile. Quite a good first impression as the place looked very smart, the tables were properly laid up with tablecloths, and there were perfectly adequate multi-lingual menus. The lady working our table (in fact, the only person serving all evening) didn't speak english so we ordered in mangled german and italian. She was fine with us during our visit but I suspect that she has a fairly short fuse if irked. Nothing special prior to the main course; supermarket-style bread turned up in a basket but we were lucky as several tables got none. The salad that we ordered to start was drearily average with only a few slices of boiled egg to break up the green. We ate it using fish knives due to lack of any alternative, requested or otherwise. Things perked up with the main course. I'd ordered veal cutlets and Mrs EPR had ordered pork loin. Good news for me; I did get pork cutlets however Mrs EPR was faced with a monster pork t-bone. These, plus a bed of hand-cut chips, appeared on a silver platter which was then placed on a hot-plate on the table. Happily all the meat was cooked perfectly, there was plenty of it and we enjoyed it, despite the slight ordering blip. An interesting aspect of the visit was watching the owner/chef grapple with an ancient grill to the side of the terrace before producing spot-on examples of whatever had been selected. By the time we finished, the tables around us seemed to be full of locals who were clearly pals of the owners to the extent that service ground to a halt and we ditched any possibility of a dessert. The request for the bill always sharpens minds and that came quickly with two very generous shots of industrial-strength grappa . Note that cash seemed to be favoured here- I'm not sure if payment by card is even available. So rather an unconventional dining experience but quite fun
Be the first to ReplyNot having a menu isn't such a big deal
Konoba Šantić is a real deal. I recommend sea food of course. Risotto with scampi is magnificent. As everything else. Its a place where you can enjoy even meeting new people from table to table. The owner is as he is... Not pretending to be nice. But once when you get the chance to know him a little bit better... he is a nice guy. Since my first visit I have returned there many times and always been satisfied with the food and service every single time.
Be the first to ReplyFor God sake, don't go there
This was filmed after 10 hours of cleaning. Now you can see where you eat, awful isn't it? I didn't get anything for my day of work because I'd leave after bad words from the owner - "what do you do all day?! ". Shame on you, Šantiću!

A quiet rainy lunchtime, no menu as noted by others, a range of fish or meat dishes explained by the owner/waiter. Rating increased on the strength of a delicious risotto.
Be the first to ReplyA konoba as it should be
Apart from really outstanding sorbet and funny but hospitable owners, all the rest was "only" very good. Which is exactly what you would expect. Well: the risotto with scampi and mushrooms was outstanding as well. So all in all: outstanding. Even the home malvasia was far above the average. With the final price that was modest enough.
Be the first to ReplyBad service and thieves
We got Cola in a glass without original bottle. Waitress was unprofessional and not polite. Pricing was different in the Menu and on the reciept. Not coming back ever again.
Be the first to ReplyA tourist rip-off
We didn't get the menu to see the prices. The waiter was very very arrogant. He stated what they were offering, so we ordered some fish. We had to wait for 60 minutes from order till plate to get the fish. The fish itself was magnificent, excellently prepared, but that is all that was magnificent at that restaurant. He forgot to bring the ordered side - french fries - must be such a complicated dish, as the belated fries were chewy, greasy and some of them undercooked. The waiter was again very arrogant. As with Lea H. experience, we paid a rip off- 110 EUR bill, no cards accepted! We will never do the mistake of returning to that Santic Konoba again.
