The three stars is simply for the ambiance, the views, and the amazing service we received. The food was horrifying, the lobster was not cooked throughly and the sea bass was lack luster. But again, the views are definitely worth seeing for yourself, such a beautiful restaurant, I wish the food matched.

We were supposed to have dinner but ended up only getting a desert. The ambiance at 930p was great, not too crowded and the view is amazing. Menu looked interesting so i can't wait to try again

Staff is incredibly rude and the views are always obstructed by obnoxious and incompetent individuals that aren't even dressed to the proper attire requirements. Menu is extremely limited and overwhelming overpriced for the microscopic portions that you receive. Don't waste your time at this wanna be restaurant!!!

If you're ever in Philly, you definitely need to make reservations at this restaurant! The service was amazing, the ambiance was stunning, and the food was to die for! Especially the sea bass. I could've at like 10 of those plates! Thanks again to all the staff I encountered! Jean, Maxwell, Rosie, Nick, and Berto! (Sorry for any incorrect spellings). See you guys next time!

I saw an episode on YouTube of Joshua Weissman and JG cooking challenge then i realized i havent finished writing my review here, so Im here to finish what i started. My cousin was visiting from Chicago and i wanted to take her somewhere special and get some good views and photos while we were at it. I've been here at least 2 times already prior to this visit, so it was certainly an experience i wanted to share. I was carefully planning to arrive early enough to have seating without a reservation and still be able to experience the sunset. Chester was very welcoming and he showed me around and got my promptly seated at a beauutiful spot that overlooks the bar and the scenic view. Drew was my server and he was very attentive and accommodating. If your guest doesnt drink, they can actually make mocktails for you - its not on the menu, but you can actually tell your waiter what flavor you want it to be and what you want mixed into it. Same thing for cocktails - name it, they can make it. The food was delicious and very presentable. The flavors were very distinct and you can taste everything it was cooked with. Its not overpowering. It is to my liking. It was like a work of art. I had the great opportunity to meet and shake hands with Alessandro Picardi, the assistant general manager of their establishment. I had to share with him my praises for their quality and overall great service. It was a very unique experience, highly recommended and definitely worth a visit with your special friends, family and loved ones.
Be the first to ReplyFirst off, the views are just incredible.
On the 59th floor of the Four Seasons hotel, which is the tallest building in Philly, you can't get any better views than that. We went at 2.30pm after lunch and before dinner so it was a light bites menu. We got to see 360 degrees view of the city during daytime, sunset and the city lights at night. The elevator up to JG was definitely a ride and an experience. The decor as you enter during the holiday season is just prestigious looking and the interior decor was beautiful, especially with the reflective ceiling mirrors. Now for the food, we had the hash brown caviar, kale salad with salmon, sea trout crispy rice and wagyu cheesesteak spring rolls. The $68 caviar hash brown was good but definitely not with the price. I thought we would at least get a few pieces of hash brown but it was just one small piece. I did like the soft and flaky hash brown but I've never understood the priciness of caviar. The cheesesteak spring roll was good though the meat was rarer than I expected. I'm used to normal medium rare wagyu but didn't expect for the spring roll to have that though. It had a light cheese inside and personally I prefer it that way. It came with a very vinegary tomato chutney type of condiment which was good but I ate that separately instead of combining it with the spring r The kale salad was refreshing and had a light drizzle of dressing. We added the salmon to it and that was cooked pretty well and soft and flakey. The sea trout crispy rice wasn't as crispy but I didn't mind the less crispy texture. The sea trout tasted like spicy tuna but with a stronger flavour. However, I've had better crispy rice tbh. Overall, definitely an experience to have. Reservations are hard to get for lunch or dinner. The downstairs bar area open just after 5pm.
Be the first to ReplyFirst the view is spectacular.
Second the tasting menu was phenomenal, supported by a great personal (Jean-Paul and Michael to name a few) The chef is very innovative and the harmony she introduce in her creation is awesome. A palate explosion!
Be the first to ReplyI've been to Jean-Georges Philadelphia twice.
The first time with my wife for brunch just prior to the pandemic, and recently with my parents and wife for dinner. They offer valet parking for $35. The elevator ride to the top of the building is an experience in itself and I suggest you go during daytime to take in the views. I also suggest you request a seating arrangement near a window so you can take it all in while you're there. The service is top notch although you should plan on being there several hours if your selecting from the tasting menu. My one nit is the food we had for our dinner experience. When we had our brunch everything was amazing, the flavor profiles were all very interesting, and it all just tasted superb. During our dinner, a lot of the items tasted bland, and others were extremely over salted. Like over salted to a point where they shouldn't have been served. Dessert was good though. Can't go wrong with sugar. Ambiance is half the price of the meal. Who knows what rent is at that location. They need to get their seasoning right though if your gonna charge a thousand dollars for four people for dinner!

Came here for lunch and unfortunately couldn't enjoy the bite too much because it was during the wild fire. Food was just ok but the ride up the elevator was awesome and the cows during a normal day would be amazing hence the 4 stars. This place is all about the ambiance and views. Someone in my party did mention the food was much better for dinner so that may be the case.

Be the first to ReplyI would it give zero stars if possible.
My husband got food poisoned from the dinner. We live about 45 minutes away. He started profusely, vomiting, and having stomach aches. It is such a shame with the amount of money we spent at this restaurant that he was food poisoned and was so ill the rest of the night. The restaurant was beautiful and the view was great but definitely not worth getting food poisoned! Would not recommend.
Be the first to ReplyA fairly disappointing brunch experience today.
..service was very slow and clumsy. It took about 35-40 minutes for us to receive our food and it all came out at once, apps and entrees. The table wasn't big enough for most of us to have our app and entree side by side so it was a very tight dining experience. Additionally, our server spilled my drink on my new pants. Also, this is probably the only four seasons I've been to that doesn't feel like a four seasons. People are in there with hats on, sweatpants...felt more like a sports bar than a fine dining experience. There were also a group of individuals that did a loud sports chant that was disruptive and rude. This four seasons needs to elevate and enforce the standards they require for their guests.

The dinner we had was okay, a huge amount of the dishes were very over-salted. Not sure if it was the sauce or if it was the chef, either way not acceptable for a $500+ meal. The wine selection was good, but their menu is outdated as they were out of a few bottles. Waiting a good amount of time as well between dishes, sometimes 20-30 minutes.
Be the first to ReplyJean-Georges was an absolute experience.
This restaurant takes your tastebuds on a journey. Truly an upper echelon affair from the ambiance of the restaurant to the waiters/waitresses pouring and placing down the plates in a synchronized movement. The "From The Land and Sea" option takes you through a journey of 8 different courses. The trio of crispy sea trout sushi, egg toast and caviar, & yellowfin tuna noodles were phenomenal starts. A great way to tickle your tastebuds for what came after. The staff were friendly, energized. and in sync with their movements. They are very helpful with exposing the menu! The savory courses were amazing. Each one complementing the other. I recommend this restaurant to anyone looking to celebrate themselves in the most elite way.

Lol this is probably on my top 5 of worst restaurants. We spent $2000 total. Take your money some where else. Like the one in NY maybe,
Be the first to ReplyFirst off absolutely amazing setup if you are into the
First off absolutely amazing setup if you are into the grand hotel feels. All the way on top of Philly (I recommend come during the day for a better city view), then you descend back down into the restaurant. And of course the service was definitely up to par for the prices and "level" the restaurant deems itself at.Now the food- 3 star might be a bit rough but when I factor in a lackluster cocktail menu, together with a $700 bill - it definitely deserves a low 3 star (maybe a 4 on a good day).Pastries were warm and cute - good start.Iconic snacks were... okay. Caviar is unique but I've had better in St.Petersburg, Russia from a local restaurant. The crispy trout was a surprise. Not the fish, but rather the "rice" base. God that was amazing. And I really don't know why tuna noodles are anything iconic. I can slice a piece of tuna into pieces too.Bubble tea was meh- weird to be honest. Credits for fun/ creativity.Hamachi I really wanted to send back to be honest. That fish shouldn't have been served.White truffle ravioli - I even ordered an extra gram of truffle and it lacked flavor. Pasta was too "Al-dente" for me. I've had better.Duck breast was AMAZING. Gamey but gosh- if I could only cook like that.Desserts?? Well save room for the petit fours and the sorbet... other parts were a miss for me.

We only came here for drinks so it's hard to say much about the food except the truffled popcorn and olives they give with the drinks (which are delicious btw). They have a small drink menu but the bartenders can make drinks on demand. While my cocktail was excellent, you really come here for the ambience and the view of the city, which are fantastic.

Until they change or fix their fridges, this is a solid TWO STARS. Such effort expended ruined every course by faulty fridges that aged food to many hours more than it actually was.NOT FOR $1200 FOR TWOSorry Yelp Elite Squad botches. (NOT SORRY). Sorry Wokey Yelp moderators who read every review and suppress those which are less than three stars (DEFINITELY not sorry). I've still got FOLLOWERS and hundreds of friends who do indeed trust what I have to say whether or not I've got your stinking badge. For twelve hundred dollars for two people, Jean Georges has QUITE the lot of kinks to work out.For highest of haute cuisine (and I don't mean the 537th floor of this building), execution was mostly sorely lacking, due to fridges.FOUR HUNDRED DOLLARS FOR A NV KRUG SPLIT ???I don't know what planet you're from, or how you try to sell a mostly-all chardonnay blend, it's just barely interesting.BULLETS* waited 5 minutes while Maitre'D on the phone tried to find himself and then check us in, all while two other staff stood helplessly by.* chlorine from the walls of water you have to walk through fills your nose* bread plate unrefined, butter dead from bad fridges. Can we call it "fridge burn"?* yellowtail burned from cold, as were many courses. it's those fridges.* hit and miss course. some courses amazing, but most are plagued from poor timings in the kitchen, or these fridges which age food decades in the few hours left inside.* kudos to som who found some quite amazing wine pairings along the course.* kudos too to the support staff who elegantly deliver the service you expect of cuisine at this level.* oh wow the pumpkin with the perfectly cooked duck was amazing, but it was fresh, and the rest of the plate was cold (and it was not from fridges, it was from waiting for that pumpkin!)BUT HAUTE CUISINE IS DEADIn a world of 200% inflation on our grocery bills, 30-60% inflation over six months at restaurants and in a time where taped-up signs advise that menu pricing is subject to change (FRAUD!), and an overall inability to execute and deliver, I don't care which episode of "Restaurant Survivor" we're on, restauranting as we knew it pre-covid is DEAD AND GONE.Save your thirteen dollar signs $$$$$$$$$$$$$ and grab yourself instead some tickets to this weekend's Phillies' playoff game!

Usually I dip a star for price gouging, but this place is spectacular, regardless of the $$$$. The view might be the best in Philadelphia. The bartenders are funny and personable, plus are very generous with the alcohol serving size. The $20 cocktails come with $20 worth of alcohol... for sure. Definitely a nice place to relax after work. Strongly recommend.

My husband and I had an outstanding dining experience at this restaurant last night. Food was unbelievably delicious and chef Cornelia outdid herself with both taste of the food and presentation. Excellent service! Excelente food! The place is sophisticated and cozy. I asked the server for assistance once I'm a vegetarian and that was my first time there. He immediately recommended me some dishes and explained them with details, and came back with complimentary mini vegetarian soups for me and my husband. The food was amazing and honestly the best vegetarian food I've ever had!!! It's hard to find good vegetarian/vegan food, but I got to say, this restaurant it's worth every penny and hours you may have to wait in line. I stayed at the hotel as a guest and made a reservation for the restaurant, but I saw a huge line up outside for dinner. The dessert was also phenomenal, just like the rest of the food and the service in general! Highly highly recommended!!!!

My boyfriend took me here for my birthday dinner (how lucky am I!!). This dinner was so special. It was a wonderful tasting experience. We really enjoyed trying different foods. The view was phenomenal. Very nice for a special occasion

I took my mom here for lunch, and we had an excellent time! The staff are so helpful in guiding you and making sure you take the right elevator to the restaurant floor. We didn't make a reservation, but we were able to get a table right next to the window. The ambiance, lighting, and decorations are top notch. The servers are attentive and quick to bring drinks and make sure you're comfortable and okay. The menu lists a wide variety of food options, so you could have a burger or seafood or pasta or roasted chicken or steak. The staff are knowledgeable on knowing what is safe to eat depending on your dietary restrictions. I ordered the salmon, and my mother ordered the roasted chicken. The salmon was cooked perfectly, and I loved the sauce paired with it. I wished there was a starch served with it. I felt it needed a starch to soak up the sauce, because only salmon and some leeks were served. My mom thought the roasted chicken was cooked well, and she liked the potatoes served with it. Both of us agreed that both of our dishes were really salty, which is why I'm knocking my rating down by one star. The saltiness interfered with the flavors. We ordered tea and coffee and a trio of ice cream and sorbet for dessert. The trio of ice cream and sorbet are made in house, and it's so good. Dessert was my favorite part. I definitely will return here. It's a little pricey for an every day dining experience, but I would love to return here for special occasions. It also would be a great place to grab a drink or an appetizer before going out to another place.
Be the first to ReplyThe views were out of this world.
Came on a clear day and could see the entire city. Stopped by with my sister to celebrate our birthday during a weekday afternoon. The ambiance was classy and very warm. We ordered the yuzu bourbon cocktail and it was exceptional!!! The bartender was beyond friendly and surprised my sister and I with a birthday treat of sorbet with a pour over. The prices were on the higher end of cocktails but very much worth it. If in doubt, definitely check this place out!
