Go to El Patron Grill and Bar 194-01 Northern Blvd.
Excellent authentic food, reasonable pricing,no huge portions, all freshly made. Very friendly and fast moving staff. We would rate higher than a five. Get a restaurant.com certificate for a bargain! I do not have any affiliation with this restaurant, they just deserve the business!!
Be the first to ReplyI went to Tequilla Joes on a Friday Night.
I walked in at about 11:30 and there was more people behind the bar then there were patrons sitting in the entire restauraunt/bar.... I wound up having one of the worst experiences I have ever had at and restauraunt/bar.... after my girlfriend ordered a Malibu Bay breeze, I ordered a beer that were suppose to be on tap, which they were out of, so I ordered another beer on tap, which was also unavailable, so I ordered a bottled beer and decided with my girlfriend that we would have one drink and take a ride down the block to Manor Octoberfest, cause nothing was going on here...I proceded to put a $20 bill on the counter, even though I had no clue how much I owed for our 2 drinks because the bartenders were too busy rushing to return to their conversation with the bar help and manager.... my girlfriend and I were chatting and making the most of it when one of the bartenders came and took the $20 bill..... not really thinking much of it I didn't pay attention to who took it, just figured they were charging me for our drinks.... well, we finished our drinks, and I still did not get my change back, when I asked the bartender where my change was I was told I never put money on the bar.... the manager then came over and told me that he was going to check the video in the back and see what was going on.... 5 minutes later the manager came back and told me to come back the next day to check the videos if I wanted my money back, then proceded to call me a liar because he believes his bartenders would not take the money like that... then asked me out of good graces to leave an extra $2 for the bartenders....... I have never been as insulted as I was in this place....I do not recommend this place at all... go down yellowstone to Manor Octoberfest or head down to 88th street and go to Yermens.... but avoid this place at all costs!!!
Be the first to ReplyFirst and last time at Tequila Joe's.
I don't know where to start, "Joe's" failed, failed and failed again at each and every turn. Manhattan drink prices for a place opposite a cemetery in section of Queens that people speed up to get through faster! Then the bartender couldn't make a drink to save her life, My friend ordered a Mojito and they brought her a glass of what looked like green water and then said they were out of Mint and sorry. Another friend ordered a frozen Margarita and got a chunk of shaved ice with salt in it. The food prices were not extravagant but over priced when considering the quality of the food and the service. The fries were soggy, the baked clams were all bread crumb and no clam, and I know from watching the Food Network that fish should not smell fishy and believe me this place 's seafood smelled like a fish market. I wish i could offer one redeeming thing about my evening at "TJ's" but i cannot except that i was there with really good friends.

I didn't know what to expect here (my family had a restaurant.com coupon), so I went by my parents' previous dining experience about which they didn't say much (this should have been sign #1 of the imminent bad dining experience). When we got there, there was only one other group there and that table -- next to us -- did not look happy about their food (this should have been sign #2). STRIKE 1! The menu looked okay - basic Mexican fare with a pub twist (aka fried and greasy). The waitress did not ask about the sides for some and ASSUMED they were fine with fries when the dishes came out. She informed our table that they were out of soup (WHAT?! with 7 people in the WHOLE restaurant and we got there at the VERY beginning of the dinner rush?!?!) and asked if salad was fine. The dish was supposed to come with rice - there was no rice on our plates (except for the one that had the rice side dish). We ordered some guacamole for the table - we had to ask about THAT a few times. STRIKE 2!Lastly, we wanted to see the dessert menu. We got the dessert menu and when we wanted to order dessert, we got the bill instead. WHAT?!?! We ask for dessert menus, you assume we want dessert, NOT the bill. Either way, we ordered dessert and I asked for some coffee. The waitress informed that they did NOT have coffee. STRIKE 3!!! We paid (after having to remind her we had a coupon, which she just realized she honored earlier in the meal) and left that mess of a restaurant. (Note to the waitress: "not expecting that many people on Labor Day weekend" is not a good excuse you give to patrons.)My recommendation - just go to the bar at this place (maybe the drinks are a saving grace).

This place had decent food. small selection of Beers and an OK Bar. There is a dance floor where No one but me and my people were tearing it up (ok pretending to tear it up). It was a good time. Id go back
Be the first to ReplyThe food is okay lacked that Latin flavor i had hoped for.
The menu looks like they took things from different ethnic cuisines and threw them together. I went on what was suppose to be "pasta night" and they had no pasta. I mean come on, get it together. Get this , there were mice running around in the dining room. Two tables got up and left. My party and I stood and they gave us drinks on the house. We were half way done with our food didn't make sense to leave then. The service was over all good, the staff was pretty friendly. That was probably the only upside to my experience at this restaurant oh and the jalapeno appetizers were really good.

Terrible place; they took reservations for a party of 15; there were at least 50 people overall, and they only had one cook. It took two hours to get the food and it was cold. Also, they promised to have a paid-per-view fight, and the fight was not on. It was more important to meet up with my NY friends, but I wish we met somewhere else. Overall, not ever worth going back to again, unless it's under new owners / management. The bartenders were okay, but not as friendly as bartenders should be.
Be the first to ReplyRestaurant Impossible.
..Need to get in contact with Robert Irvine to help change the menu. I realized this is not a Mexican Restaurant .

Had been here a few late nights for drinks and it wasn't bad. I decided to invite some friends from work to dinner there. As we're waiting for our food two little gray mice ran under our table and into the molding under the seating bench!!! I'd ordered a grilled chick sandwich and got a fish sandwich. The french fries were partially cooked crinkle cut cafeteria fries. Our mixed drinks were warm. My friends and I kept peering around the floor and the mice kept running in and out of the hole. We had told the waitress twice about the mice and the manager never came over or offered a free drink or anything for not freaking out and screaming to the rest of the customers! It took 20 minutes after our plates were taken to get our check...after asking twice!! Ugh
