We were shown to a private roomas there were 8 of us. Service was excellant and food fantastic. Bread was free flow with various varities. But remember there is more good food to follow. Before each meal the food was explained. Staff were friendly, pleasant and helpful. Food was delicious, portions were just right and we were stuffed at the end of the course.

Joël Robuchon Restaurant is really nice. The food and drinks are amazing. Everything is delicious. Very tasty place to dine at.
Be the first to ReplyA top-class French restaurant representing Japan. The atmosphere is different from Robuchon restaurants overseas.
As expected, this is a famous French restaurant that has maintained a Michelin three-star rating for many years, along with Quintessence. Compared to L'Atelier in Paris, which is more down-to-earth but has only counter seats and portions, and Dome in Orisbois in Macau, which is simply gorgeous, Robuchon in Japan is exactly what Japanese people imagine a high-class, prestigious French restaurant to be. For a couple, we ordered a bottle of red and white wine, which cost about 200,000 yen for two people. The wine list is huge, so if you decide on a category first, you won't have to worry. If you're having trouble deciding, just tell the staff your general preferences and budget, whether red, white, or dry. Of course, the food was all passable, but if you eat too much bread, you won't get to the last dessert lol. I always have trouble deciding whether to finish with fromage or the dessert cart lol. The staff are polite, and the customers around me are not dressed or talking vulgarly, so the atmosphere is good. If you're not used to high-class French food but want to experience Robuchon, why not start with L'Atelier on the lower floor?

Amazing dinner. Opulent restaurant, great service, food and of course wine. It is amazingly a lot of food for an ultra fine dining experience so come with your appetite especially with the bread and dessert carts which are part of your meal. Difficult to get a reservation though. Worth it if you can get one.

As always, they serve perfect French cuisine. As expected, it is delicious enough to make you go "Robuchon". The meal has already started from the exterior of the Chateau restaurant in Ebisu. And every dish served promises a blissful time. This time, too, it lived up to my expectations.
Be the first to ReplyThe highest French restaurant in Japan.
I recently had a chance to visit Joel Robuchon. Every woman dreams of having dinning here at least once (I think so).Stood in front of the restaurant, I can't help but get excited just thinking that finally I get a chance to enter this castle of my dreams. Inside the restaurant, all the guests are so elegant. The highlights were the specialties "Caviar Imperiale" and "Beef Fillet with Foie Gras Embrace". Both were truly excellentclassic French cuisine. The service was comfortable and not too formal. I would like to visit again if I have the chance.

Food was great and priced just right but for a 2 star michelin resto, I felt both the service and pacing was just okay. Maybe they just need a couple more wait staff?
Be the first to ReplyFrench and Japanese gastronomy at its best
Chef Robuchon’s legacy of culinary excellence remains central to Chef Kenichiro Sekiya’s Ebisu restaurant operation. Along with his team, Chef Sekyia effortlessly marries French and Japanese cuisine while upholding the reputation of his late mentor. The menu degustation (tasting menu) is excellent and by in large lives up to its three star Michelin rating. The restaurant itself is located in a very stately and ornate chateau in the middle of Tokyo, however I do worry that some aspects of the dinning room decor veer into the gaudy and maximalist style. That being said, the dining experience itself remains excellent, and the service is attentive and inspired.
Be the first to ReplyThe best gastronomic experience I ever had was in this 3-Michelin-starred restaurant : Joël Robuchon in Tokyo Japan.
Joël Robuchon, no need of too much introduction – the legendary French chef that owns the most Michelin stars. His three fine dining restaurants in Tokyo have totally 7 stars, the most famous one is not doubt the 3-Michelin-starred Joël Robuchon in district Ebisu, Tokyo , Japan.
Surrounded by the modern buildings of shopping malls and hotels, Joël Robuchon located in a isolated French heritage building which easy catch everyone’s eyes.
Joël Robuchon Ebisu is devided into two parts. On the basement is a more casual side (but still fine dining) LA TABLE de Joël Robuchon, currently holding 2 stars.
The formal restaurant with 3 stars Joël Robuchon is on the second floor.
There are three different menu to choose from.
One only available during lunch, the prixe fixe menu and the degustation menu. (A vegetarian menu is also available).
Service was definitely Japanese-Michelin-3-starred, very efficient and all the servers were very patient when we took pictures. Ambiance was very nice, there are about 20 tables in the main dining room and everyone talks quietly.
Among all the French restaurants i have been in my life , Joël Robuchon is probably the most expensive one and for a good reason in short: it was a party and very much worth-of -value.
AMAZING 3 star Michelin restaurant
Had the chance to see and taste this menu. Been to a lot of Michelin star restaurants and this is by far on the top of my list. Wine pairing can be a little more worldly then being stuck in france. However service and presentations are great. Worth the price and the time
Be the first to ReplyDeath of Michelin Stars
The service and food are degraded at so-called Michelin starred restaurant and Michelin rating is abused (or may be corrupted) to the full maximum possible. The service is transformed to barefaced impudence and humiliation of customers. This place doesn’t worth that huge price tag at all and should be avoided so you will not regret and feel humiliated after visiting this place.
Just for the reference we paid US $1000 (!) for the diner testing menu for two without wine.
Service
1 They asked for a dresses code at a dinner time. But when we were invited to the table waitress came dressed in black apron, like from ordinary bar everywhere else
2 No formal greeting was given to us. Waitress was very rushing to serve drinks without even mentioning a choice or bring the wine list. She brought the bottle of water and start pour it out without even asking us if we want to choose a different kind of water
3 The dining room was decorated in a dark schema. That may be okay, but tablecloth was black. Hard to tell if it was clean and fresh
4 The place settings were different for me and my wife for several courses in a row till I asked to fix that
There are two things I must emphasize:
First, chef did make his appearance in dining room several (!) times. BUT he only come to one table and had very nice cordial chat there. He ignored all other tables during all times he come within 2 hours. No, we do not want to talk to chef, but this is bad manners toward your customers. Perhaps he is not familiar with a common practice of other Michelin starred restaurants where chef usually greeting all customers.
Second, we had no attention or dedicated service from the restaurant personal. We just got one Englishman waiter assigned to our table. He just appears at our table to explain the food they brought. He behaves like The King and restaurant is his Kingdom. He talks so loudly, make unacceptable jokes, and draw attention to himself from all tables around which made us feel completely uncomfortable.
He easily tacks in his shirt in a middle of a dining room (!) as it was his bedroom.
The culmination of his impudent behavior was when he told my wife that the portion of the main dish is too much for her and he will NOT give the full portion but half of it! He suggested to ask him later for the rest of the portion which he took away! How dare he can say that! This is barefaced impudence at Michelin 3 stars restaurant!
Unbelievable attitude. Do not forget that we PAID for the service and food and who is he to decide what is too much for us! Perhaps he was needing the rest of our meal to take it home. That could explain this.
At the end of the dinner Englishman waiter simply left the restaurant and we were told that he is no longer servicing our table and we need to wait for someone else to answer our question. Obviously, personal are no longer interesting in us as the dinner is almost done. Seriously, why do they need to show their respectful service when they already got 3 starts from Michelin?
The table next to us with Japanese pair was serviced with high attention and other waiter serve full portions of a meal without any questions asked. Was very high contrast in a service level compare to us.
Food
1 Food had no memorable taste or wow experience
2 The bread was not fresh at all, and their white signature bread had strong smell of a chlorine. That usually happened when tap water had strong chlorination and used to make a bread
3 The galantine with black caviar on top had very strong shrimps alike taste and that spoil the caviar completely
4 The green tea was taste like a water or should I say no taste at all. When we asked how/what they brew they insists it was Japanese matcha green tea (really?)
Bottom line - respect yourself and avoid this place for your peace of mind.
Perfect meal
I have to been to a few other 3 star Michelin restaurants, but this one takes the cake. Every course was a perfect bite. The flavors are amazing and surprising at times. The courses were well thought out and timed well. The portions were just right. If I had one criticism, I don’t think you need 2 cuts of steak/foie gras for the final course. I guess I could have just not ate it so not a big deal. The cheeses were divine and finally the desserts just keep coming. An absolute enchanting evening and I would consider it a once in a lifetime meal.
