Ok, this place has so many fantastic qualities.
Can be a little loud but the bungalow style seating with the curtains solves that problem. It's such a neat experience. I love how the menu is set up smallest to largest. I wish more restaurants would adopt a small plates menu like this. I love being able to try everything and compare notes. It's brilliant and I wind up trying and enjoying dishes I never would have considered on my own. The Pig Mac was crazy!! You gotta try it!! Love this place.

Place is super cute and romantic! I came here with a friend but automatically felt cute first date vibes! Drinks were delicious and food amazing (I mean look at the plating of this food! Beautiful and taste is even better!) Service was also great and friendly! My friend and I did family style so we could try a bit of lots of things and honestly everything we tasted was delicious! Highly recommend especially as a first date or date night

Eric C was an absolutely phenomenal host for our bachelor party. He expertly dealt with one of our members allergies and entertained the party whenever he showed up! Do recommend
Be the first to ReplyI came here with my boys for my bachelor party dinner.
The food was prime, the drinks fantastic, and the service transcendent. Eric was was our server, and he made our experience truly special. He had charisma, a deep knowledge of the menu, and a natural gift for hospitality. My party had a friend with extremely and varied allergies and Eric was both helpful and patient to ensure every one of us left happy and full. Would highly recommend!

Top tier service here for an extremely large party with a difficult combo of allergies. Eric was amazing. Astounding. Entertaining and helpful. As best man he made me happy enough to get on Yelp to sing his praises. Thank you Kettner 10/10.

He sold us on the rib eye and it was worth. Funny guy too.

We came with a large table with lots of allergy requirements. Eric C was our server, and he was extremely helpful in getting food out to all of us. Strongly recommend!

Came to celebrate a birthday and decided to explore the downstairs area for the first time. It offered a different, more secluded and intimate atmosphere compared to the beautiful upstairs. Despite the change, it was a cool experience. Our meal included delightful dishes like the kale salad, duck meatball, Mary's chicken, and spicy garlic noodles, all of which were amazing. The garlic noodles are definitely a must-try. Our server provided excellent service throughout. I appreciate the restaurant's flow of bringing out food in rounds, ensuring nothing sits on the table getting cold. It's truly become one of my favorites in Little Italy. However, it wasn't very busy, and although there was brunch earlier, they should pay more attention to their restrooms as they weren't adequately stocked with napkins or toilet paper.

Great ambiance and there are romantic tables too I enjoyed a special occasion with my loved one and the service was impeccable and the food was very well prepared and excellent and extremely delicious

Our server Miguel was attentive and had great personality. The ambiance was so nice. And the food was amazing. We had the kale salad, meatball, pork chop, and the molten cake. Everything was soo good. If my wallet could handle it I'd come every day!!! Yummy, thanks for a great experience.

Had a great dinner experience here last week with some family. Very cool atmosphere on the rooftop, near the bar, where the drinks were delicious and refreshing. For food, we ordered a few different entrees (as they're more tapas style), and the one that stuck out to me were the salmon sashimi and tuna, and above all, the burger was juicy and delicious. Our server was very friendly and help as well. Def coming back!

Came here on a Friday night with reservations with a large party of girls to celebrate a bachelorette party. Make sure you can get a reservation since it was hard to book last minute for a group of girls. We quickly got seated to the top floor. The interior was esthetically pleasing. Our waitress was very friendly and surprised the bride with a dessert! As for drinks and food, everyone liked what they had ordered. I got the dirty verde, which I enjoyed and quickly drank. I usually am not the biggest fan of kale but their kale salad was actually tasty. Some of the girls ordered the bao, mapo, and it's corn. We stayed here only for drinks and appetizers since we had another reservation to attend. I would love to come back here again next time with my husband when we visit SD.

This restaurant has an amazing atmosphere (dim lighting, not too loud). We try one new fine dining place a month and this restaurant has been on our list for quite some time!! With that said we really appreciate when a waiter/waitress give us their recommendations and/or favorites from the menu. Our waiter did not mention a thing and we found out on our own that the Goat Meatball is TO DIE FOR! This was the very last thing we ordered and by far the most delicious dish we ate!! The whipped ricotta was very good, we only wished it came with more bread. Overall this restaurant is so worth it! You won't regret it!
Be the first to ReplyI've been here two separate times from OC.
Delicious food! Amazing drinks! Menu is always changing which makes it even more exciting. Great ambiance! I love their upstairs bar/lounge too! Can't wait to go back again.

Hmm... Not sure if this place deserves a 3 or 4 star, because the food was good/great but definitely not worth the price. Our server was kind and attentive though! They give spiced popcorn instead of bread which is an interesting choice! The popcorn tastes really good but I did miss my usual bread. I wish they could put that same delicious mustard popcorn flavor on bread LOL. Sonoma Lamb Szechuan Noodles 10/10 - The flavor is SO GOOD and unique. They give a decent size portion for this dish and the sauce is creamy and flavorful. The lamb pairs so well with the spice and the noodles were chewy. Highly recommend.Duck meatball 9/10 - The meatball with the sauce and grits was surprisingly very good! So well seasoned but you honestly can't taste the duck flavor of the meatball which is why it's a 9. The meatball was very juicy and fatty which was great though. I'd recommend this dish for sure!Pig Mac Bao 7/10 - Uuuh... ok well the bao is good and the pork belly is soft, but not really worth the price at all. Go to another asian restaurant and get pork bao for $10 cheaper, bc $17 for a single bao is CRAZY. You can't even really taste the caviar because the cheese and pickle is overwhelming. If you really love big macs though... this is your calling.Spicy shrimp (8/10) - Good spicy shrimp! Crispy and the flavor is good. The shrimp were pretty big too!! "Mapo" 7/10 - Probably our least favorite lol. It just doesn't taste very authentic to mapo tofu which is kinda expected but like at least make it spicy enough. It was lacking flavor/ spice. The rice cakes are an interesting choice as well. They were soft and chewy like mochi but a little weird i think.Molten Chocolate Cake 8/10 - Yummm what a great dessert. Honestly it's what you'd expect from a chocolate cake so cannot complain about it. The textures worked so well together with the molten liquid from the cake, crunchy crumble, and decadent vanilla ice cream. A must!!Overall - Probably wouldn't come back any time soon but if they came out with a new menu, we'd give it a try! The vibes were good though especially for a night out with your friends. Seemed very crowded and busy.
Be the first to ReplyThis place is so much fun.
The ambiance is where it's at but if you're going for a fulfilling dinner, you should skip it. The food is delicious but portions are pretty small and they're supposed to be shareable. I could easily eat 2-3 items on the menu on my own and still feel hungry. The service is top notch though, we had an outstanding waitress and those running food and drinks back were also super attentive. I would go to this place if we were doing drinks and light bites. Their Cesar salad twinkies and the spicy tuna crispy rice were AMAZING. Skip the meatball and the noodles. It's probably also cool for a birthday or event since you can rent out cabanas as well.
Be the first to ReplyWent there on a busy night.
Staff was friendly, HOWEVER I would not recommend to anyone that is under the age of 35 and not an alcoholic.

Chablie is the best! There's like 20 of us and her and her team are so accommodating! Exactly what else expected! Especially for a night where we are celebrating someone's bday! Seriously, all the food is delicious!!! & the drinks! They absolutely know what they are doing and what to say! Great customer service and service! PERIOD! Highly recommend! Coming back! Smiley face!
Be the first to ReplyI came here tonight for dinner with my mom around 7 PM.
We didn't have a reservation and there were no seats available at the bar but luckily they were able to seat us pretty quickly. We got to sit at this comfortable couch right by the fireplace and it was really cozy and just a good overall atmosphere. To start we ordered the kale salad - if I read the menu and saw this I wouldn't have ordered it but my mom has gotten it before and really wanted me to try it, I am so glad I did! This is probably the best kale salad I've ever had and I can't wait to go back and eat it again. The texture in it is amazing, it has the perfect balance of crunchy and chewy from the almonds and raisins. I love that they added the Parmesan cheese which gave it a really nice bite and they cut the kale so it's not these giant pieces which was good. The dressing was really good too. Honestly I just can't believe I'm raving about a kale salad but it's really that goodThe next thing we ordered was the duck meatball which was also amazing. It came with grits which were super creamy and cheesy. They top the meatball with this really great marinara sauce and more cheese. I loved it! We also ordered the double double which was my least favorite of everything we ordered, it was just missing something. I feel like it wasn't really seasoned that well so I probably would not order this again, they just have so many other better options.

Came here for dinner and drinks last night and absolutely loved the experience! The restaurant had a very speakeasy-type vibe, with dinner tables as well as an area with lounge seats. The restaurant was busy and we didn't have a reservation for dinner, but there were some lounge seats open so we were able to be seated immediately. Our server was so nice and helpful with choosing drinks. I got the Artichoke Hold, which is similar to an Old Fashioned, and it was so good with the perfect sweetness - great to sip on throughout the night. For food we got the whipped ricotta, spicy shrimp, and the Sonoma lamb Szechuan noodles. Everything came out promptly and was delicious! The noodles and shrimp had a bit of a spicy kick but not too much. Portion sizes were perfect to split with another person. Great vibes, great food and drinks, would love to come back!

Feeling super fancy! The restaurant ambiance feels very formal. The decorations are very modern. There is a dress code enforced in the evening. We only went for brunch food. Portions are small in my opinion, but taste & flavor was there. I believe the portions are to be paired with an alcohol beverage, but I don't drink. It was not busy when we went & the service was great. Parking can get crazy so recommend taking an Uber.
Be the first to ReplyCelebrated valentines here and had a fun experience.
I ordered food based on the pictures that caught my eye on Yelp and had the server recommend a "must try". Service was friendly and welcoming as opposed to the hosts that look you up and down. Probably cuz we're younger than the typical crowd and don't look the part of people that would eat here. Glad we stayed anyways cuz the food was amazing! The ambiance on the rooftop was fun. They had live music that catered to a party that was going on. Little did we know the music was for the restaurant, not just that party. It was definitely a vibe, older crowd, but still a vibe. If you plan on checking this place out, I'd recommend reservations for the rooftop on a Wednesday night when they have live music. The inside didn't really compare to the outdoor setting. It was kind of sad, or others would say "intimate". Now, FOOD. The server recommended we try the Spicy Tuna Crispy Rice. & it did not disappoint! Pictured half of it cuz it smelled so amazing. It was mouthwatering. I'd definitely order this again. As for the Duck Meatball, yummmz. It's bigger than you think and for $18, as it SHOULD. Lol. Now the main entrees, the Grilled Mary's chicken actually surprised me. I'm not one to order chicken when going out to eat, but it was juicy and flavorful. Not gonna lie the Niman Ranch Pork Chop was kind of a let down in comparison to the flavors of all the dishes prior, but it was still good. I probably wouldn't order the pork chop again though. Drinks, the hazy beer we ordered was a must try. Had like 5. Wine, not the best selection, wasn't a fan of the wine that was recommended and drank a fruit fly (it was a too little, too late moment). If I were to recommend this place to anyone, reservations on a Wednesday night on the rooftop. Definitely try the Spicy Tuna Crispy Rice. Add the Duck Meatball if you plan on sharing appetizers. It is a rotating menu so just be aware that these items won't always be available when you go. For main entrees I'd recommend choosing two that catch your eye and sharing, we were stuffed. Giving them 4/5 just cuz of the hosts. No matter how good the food may be, hosts are the first encounter customers make at a restaurant and first impressions matter. Don't judge a book by its cover, cuz the food was amazing & we tipped 35%.
Be the first to ReplyReservations at 5:30 and we were finally seated at 5:50.
The hostess was sweet but a bit confused or maybe just frazzled. Finally seated. Waitress took our order and seemed rushed. Told us we needed to order all plates at once. They are all shared plates. We ordered a martini each and the orders started coming out immediately. I asked them to let us enjoy our "before dinner drink" before piling the food on the table. The staff seems rushed. Our waitress was nice enough. The food was very good! We had the shishedo peppers, trout ceviche, salmon collar , and Australian lamb chops. The 3 small lamb chops, though very good, were extremely overpriced. The martinis.....not good. The wine was just ok for $63.00 per bottle ( and that was the cheap bottle but a name we at least recognized). Over all, I would give this place a 3.5. Make sure you read the very fine print on the menu... they have an additional 5% charge, to the bill, due to having the minimum wage increase. So...rather expensive for plate size portion ( except for peppers) , drinks- below average, service...well, let's just say they seem stressed and of course the 5% . overcharge....ridiculous.

Came here for a date night with no reservation on a Friday night. Thankfully they had a little corner table with minimal wait! This is a great spot for small plates. A variety of flavors including Asian and Mediterranean inspired dishes. Fun and tasty cocktails. Great ambiance with a nice outdoor patio. Good, friendly service. They have their own valet lot with reasonable prices (but it was full when we came). We'd come here again!
