King of Kings Buffet Restaurant Birmingham Reviews from The Last Year
I could say nothing too original, as it is a Chinese
I could say nothing too original, as it is a Chinese buffet, but it is comparable to all of the good ones back home in Sacramento. I had skipped breakfast to make it to an event (I am proud, so I am going to mention me being in the Transplant Games as many times as I am able), so I needed a buffet amount of food. Of the couple of Chinese buffets in Birmingham, this one had good reviews, so away we went. The broccoli in the broccoli chicken were still crispy, but NOT undercooked, so that's a good checkmark there. The rest of my plate was the salmon, general chicken, steamed rice, etc that I typically will get at any run of the mill Chinese buffet. I hate to keep repeating myself, but I will sum up the food here: Nothing too original, but it was good quality and cooked correctly. My mom enjoyed the salad bar, and said she was surprised at the quality. Our drinks were always refilled, and the staff seemed friendly. The price was "cheaper" then what I am used to (in Sacramento, California, we would have most likely paid about $10 more for the same meal) All in all, a good example of a standard Chinese buffet
Watch the Prices
Was charged £2.20 for a can of Pop price marked at 75p. When I went back with the Pop was told that Price was for other Places not there. Then was told by a rather Dopy Member of Staff that was the price to charge in WALES. Food was ok absolutely nothing Special. Deserts are non existent and Ice Cream Machine does not work the Ice Cream comes out like Water. Next time will pay the extra and go else where.

The food is absolutely horrendous, luke warm. The sushi was out of the frozen box, not authentic home made or fresh. There is nothing nice to say about this place.
The good: Service and great sweet tea.
Can't think of anything else. I would not return or recommend.

Freshness of food, very well prepared, a lot of different options to choose from. Best tasting buffet in Birmingham.
Pretty good food, but smb tell whoever is making the jello
Pretty good food, but smb tell whoever is making the jello to just quit dawg. Otherwise I highly recommend
For what it is, its good.
I found the sushi to be surprisingly good for sitting out. The mongolian station was interesting but the meat was quite tough. But if you are looking for a cheap eat, this was a good spot!
Should be shut down.
Should have known what it would be like when they charged us at entry. Repulsive. Cold gross food. Like nothing I've ever eaten. Chili pork tasted like it was dipped in sugar syrup. Sushi had what looked like sliced hotdog in it! 3 out of 4 of us got food poisoning. Noone finished their food.
SHOCKING
The rating number needs to be below 1. This is one of the worse buffets I have ever been to. We were extremely ill after this. Can’t think of 1 positive. DO NOT GO HERE
Service is very good.
The lunch crowd is very much working people taking advantage of remarkable offerings. The selection is buried varied and I encountered nothing I would not eat. The sushi is exceptional, the variety and quality is excellent. I've been to many Asian buffets and when in town I come back to this one.

Absolutely vile. Food was tasteless and cold. Not much choice. Chow mein was horrible nothing like chow mein. I also saw an ant crawling on the side of the food trays
I'm still loving this buffet.
Great food and friendly staff. I try to go at least once a week.
avoid if possible
g lady behind the bar was very polite-toilets were clean. You must pay for your meal and drinks before you sit down. The plates were hot-the food was lukewarm at best and mostly cold.Meat was grisly and inedible'As it was 12.30 lunch time I suspect food was left over from the previous night.Would e go again?Hell shall freeze over first,I gave 2 stars purely because the young lady was polite
A bland buffet to be avoided
My visit to King of Kings Chinese Buffet in Birmingham city centre was a royal disappointment. Instead of a feast fit for a king, the food was a major let down. Most dishes were remarkably bland, with nary a hint of flavor to grace the palate. The meats were particularly unappetizing - chewy, gristly, and a struggle to get down. Even the Coca-Cola, a supposed foolproof beverage, was flat and offered zero refreshment. The ambience matched the food quality. The uninviting atmosphere lacked any spark or warmth, creating a dining experience fit for a jester, not a king. Honestly, this has to be the most disappointing all-you-can-eat Chinese buffet I've ever encountered. Unless you're looking for a culinary disaster experience, I'd strongly advise giving King of Kings Buffet a miss. Birmingham boasts a wealth of fantastic dining options. Do yourself a favour and find a place that offers a truly enjoyable and satisfying meal.
Food was dipped in grease and wasn't edible enough to eat.
Staff were nice and patient, but food isn't considered as a top choice around the area. The atmosphere was bleak, and the furniture had no appealing taste to it. Despite the environment, internal health is vital and I wouldn't recommend, so save your money and search elsewhere for your convenience and your health.

Very racist buffet, they were making ugly faces at my Hispanic family and when we were trying to pay they kept repeating "asta mañana" very ugly to them like they didn't understand English. Definitely not coming back
Prior to going to a Chinese buffet, I compared reviews and
Prior to going to a Chinese buffet, I compared reviews and I was trying to pick between Chowtown and King Buffet. The public reviews for both are a mixed bag so I was curious/slightly worried about how it would be. In short, I would recommend King Buffet! We went a little after open, so I cannot speak for if you attend during a big rush or near close. We went around 11:30am on a Saturday and it was not THAT busy. We did not have to wait at all. But they definitely had a bunch of customers there! They had timely service, very nice staff. For the food, the mixed bag of reviews worried me but I was pleased. I liked the bourbon chicken, the lo mein, spring rolls, sweet and sour chicken, and the crab cakes. The sushi was okay, I did pick up some of the last California rolls on the plate so I think it'd have been better if I waited until they refilled it. The gyoza/dumplings were good but the edges were a bit dried out by the buffet lights I think. Dessert selection was also enjoyable, they even have little ice cream cups (I got rainbow sherbet!) that you can enjoy if you are dining in. Just can't take them to-go Pictures attached of mine and my party's plates. What I WOULDN'T get again: the "imitation eel" ( i think??) sushi and the crab rangoons. The rangoons were a little heavy on the cream cheese and not so much crab. The shrimp rolls (?) were also not to my taste but they could be to yours! Very clean, no noticeable issues with anything. I would go again! My next buffet visit will be to Chowtown to compare and contrast.
i am in complete disbelief.
Myself and a group of friends weere seated at a table before the table was cleaned off, so then we had to sit there at the dirty table until it was cleaned to then proceed to get up and go get food. I am just in aww, you guys need to do better in life.
My dad frequents this location all the time.
He brought us home one of their to go containers of their lunch buffet. I love buffets where you can buy a container from them and fill it up. He got us chicken skewers, shrimp, mushrooms, salmon, and some sort of dessert. I really enjoyed the shrimp, chicken skewers, and the dessert the most!

food was mid as fuck i cant even lie service was ok they refiled all the drinks on time but food SUCKED
I love that this place is so consistent.
I have never had a different experience. There are many different options available and the staff is always there to wipe down and refill the buffet tables. The ambiance is nothing to ride home about but the servers were definitely attentive. I would consider 2 more things for 5 stars 1) if the sushi was better. I understand that the sushi is on par with other buffet sushi quality but it is nothing to ride home about 2) proper labeling on the dishes to reduce food sensitivities and food allergies (I don't eat pork but accidentally had it)
It takes a lot for a 5 star review - my husband loves them.
We rarely go to a non-buffet restaurant, so I know buffets. This is a well deserved 5 star review- with the restaurant featuring great food, great service and clean updated ambience. The food includes: - Mongolian Barbecue featuring calamari, beef, chicken, shrimp, miscellaneous vegetables, eggs, noodles, with - salad bar with boiled shrimp and d other seafood salads - hot bars with several types of fresh seafood, crab cakes, mussels, shrimp, pizza for the kids, hot sides and soups - sushi bar with fresh made maki, uramaki and nigiri - dessert bar featuring cakes, cookies, pudding and jello desserts and ice cream Staff keep the hot and cold bars heaped with food. The servers are generous and prompt with refills- and although English is not their first language they do well interacting with the public. The building looks new although it must be 25-30 years old. It's in the former Hoover Golden Corral. I'd encourage everyone to check it out!
One of the best Chinese cuisine we ever tried ❤️d
I am surprised that it's got just 3 stars overall as me and my boyfriend going there every few month since 2 years and we never have enough 😍 The food is absolutely delicious- we always using buffet option- and the Customer Service is outstanding 👍👍🤗🤗🤗 Restaurant looks really nice and even music is great- we decided to add some of the songs to our playlist 😍😍 We would highly recommend to visit King of Kings ❤️❤️❤️ Great quality and variety of food- including the desserts-, menu changes, alcohol and fantastic prices.
Will never eat here again!!!! Staff is very very very very
Will never eat here again!!!! Staff is very very very very rude!!!! I was told I was lying about my child age so I wouldn't have to pay full price. They were judging the age of my child because of her size. They told me in front of my child no one is not going to believe me that's she is 11 years old. They told me that they were going to charge me full price anyway. This was very rude and unprofessional. They have lost my business and I will most definitely never eat here again.
Good food :) Cold plates :(
Food was great apart from the cold plates. Now the food wasn’t exactly hot to begin with, it would really really help if they were warm. As it is… warm food onto cold plates = cold food!! I noticed someone else sat nearby complaining about this. Apart from this… everything was great. Drinks were overpriced but that’s to be expected and overall the meal cost was about right.
I am so sorry to see that other guests have not had good
I am so sorry to see that other guests have not had good experiences here. I went with a group of neighbors last week, and we absolutely loved the food. The variety is incredible here. We kept saying to one another, "They have EVERYTHING!" I did not try the Mongolian BBQ because I had eaten it at another restaurant a few days earlier. I normally do not eat sushi, but my friend said the sushi was very fresh. I tried it and really enjoyed it. Everything I ate was delicious. There is SO MUCH to choose from. Do not go here unless you are hungry. I did notice one dirtied plate on top of one of the many stacks of plates at the stations. I thought the dining room was very clean. The service was very, very good. They were quick to remove used dishes from our table. Very pleasant dining room staff. They do need to clean up the parking lot. We felt safe, but there was lots of trash strewn around the parking lot. I hope my friends and I go there again. We were impressed. BEST VARIETY OF DISHES IN BIRMINGHAM.
I have never been so utterly disappointed by a restaurant
I have never been so utterly disappointed by a restaurant in my entire life. To treat children with such utter disregard for their humanity is deplorable. I went to this awful establishment and sat for buffet. We got to billed portion and our party had 3 kids and 2 adults. They tried to bill the children as 3 adults. When the mother spoke up that her children were not adults and met the age qualifications for children, the cashier told the mother and I quote, "I'm not going to believe you that your children are that age" and proceeded to try to charge her children like adults. To add insult to injury, she decided to take it a step further which added trauma to the child involved to directly ask the child who met the age requirements to prove that she was that age and the child was completely frightened because this was a true fact but how does a child prove they are 11 when there are no such ideas. Until I spoke up, the lady continued to try to charge the mom for and talk to this black family with disgust and disdain. This was brought to her attention as I put my own reputation and assured that I picked all of them up from school so I know their ages. I further told her that she owes the child an apology. She refused to apologize or stop talking to this black family with utter disrespect. I asked for a manager, and she refused to give me a name. I asked for another employee to give me a manager, and she claimed she didn't know who the manager was. I told her that the way she handled this black family was downright awful and she should really do some soul searching. She never apologized not once to the Black family, the black child she interrogated without the mother's permission, and the trauma she caused that child is irreparable. I hope you do not consider patronage of this establishment no matter what because no one's children should be treated this way. To not have the human decency to apologize for a very wrong assumption speaks volumes to the character of the employee who works there, and I demand she be terminated off the principle of blatant disregard for company values and the piss poor of customers no matter their race or creed which is not an ethical business practice to use your personal prejudice cause unnecessary trauma to your customers.

Mostly from people who don't need their reservations or appointments any longer. AT has no relationship with places listed and acts as a platform connecting buyers and sellers making sure that listed reservations are real and that privacy is not compromised when transacting.

Can come from a lot of places, people who don't want to get charged their cancellation fee or people who just have them and cant go.

almost all restaurants aren't affiliated with AT and I'm guessing it's mostly people wanting to not pay cancellation fees.

Reservations could be posted for a variety of reasons. Most likely, the person who secured the reservation can no longer attend - to avoid accruing a "no show" fee, they can find someone to take their place.
