Compared with another but Michelin starred Sushi Bar in Setagaya this is better to me because the quality is equally good or better as real tuna is not excluded and price is quite reasonable. This is an old and small Sushi-Bar open for many years. You either choose menu or whatever available and you like. However for the first visit I would recommend you to go for menu at Yen 9,000 per person. Then you will be asked what you do not wish to eat and then you will be served first 3 or 4 small dishes for the appetizer and quite a number of Sushis afterwards. It takes one and half to two hours to finish. It is not like Michelin 3 starred Ginza Jiro which does not allow drinking sake and get rid of you after half hour or so (I understand). Sushi is a traditional Yedo(Tokyo) style and not mostly designed to dip in Soy sauce and instead painted by brush with special sauce including one called Nikirishoyu (Soy sauce cooked with vinegar, sake and some other secret stuff and chilled) Some fishes are soaked with vinegar or ripen in advance to create specially good taste. Several sake in different types and a white burgundy by glass or bottle are available. Do' t ask the owner chef which is better or recommended. If you do the answer comes as "all good and recommended and it depends on what sort of taste you like with Sushi!” The chef is actually very friendly but initially gives you not very good impression by appearing too serious. This is a quite good Sushi-Bar. No wonder making reservation is quite difficult. Actually I have been hesitating to write a review because, if I do, the bar would soon be crowded. Last but not least important. If one is expecting an American style or Midorizushi-type Sushi one would be totally disappointed.
