Flavor bomb(s)! Service is great and knowledgeable beyond being on trend. Ambiance is clean and minimal. You can judge a lot on the bathroom of an establishment. Clean, Aesop soap, matches, candle burning, stocked, etc.
Be the first to ReplyThe server was very knowledgeable and happy.
This place definitely has a trendy vibe with loud, hip music. It's a bit difficult to have conversations, you need to speak up. The food is good. I really enjoyed the salmon and the cabbage. Most of everything else was drenched in oil--but that's the Mediterranean diet. They're very good at crunchy everything--crunchy bread, crispy rice, etc. I get the hype, though personally not a fan of eating that much oil. Cons:This place is not suitable for groups larger than 5. We had 7 in our group, and after waiting 20 minutes outside in the cold, we were shoved into a tiny booth that would sit 5 comfortably. Two of us had corners, and all the food and drinks were crammed. This made family style dining very difficult and messy. So, I don't recommend this place for larger parties. It's a very tiny restaurant -- and very busy one at that!

I think I'd be more impressed if I wasn't paying $25 for 5 meatballs. Now don't get me wrong the food IS good but the prices just don't align with what was being presented to me. The best thing on the menu is easily the tahdig and truly would've made more sense to pay $25 for that (tahdig is traditionally pretty labor intensive so this makes sense to me) and $16 for the meatballs rather than the other way around. I also really hate when restaurants put dips or sauces on their menu without either bread or dip; instead leaving it as a separate item at an additional cost. Kind of like the burger no fries phenomenon going around trendy restaurants; like why?We ordered the tahini and the bub and grandmas bread which I already knew would be good because I'm familiar with the bakery already. I did want to try some of the vegetable dishes, but, and maybe this is just me, I cannot justify paying $16-20 on vegetables in sauce. But as you read earlier, the meatballs and the rice we ordered was - satisfactory. Would I come here again? Probably not, but it has been on my dining list so glad that's done!

I visited Kismet for the first time to celebrate my sister's birthday and what a bizarre experience it was.. I was in the restaurant industry for over 15 years and I've never experienced anything like this. After looking at some of the other reviews on here, it seems I'm not the only one who felt this way after visiting. The server was cold, unfriendly, and made our experience completely unenjoyable. When we asked anything about the menu (being our first time) she seemed put out and made us feel uncomfortable and almost stupid to even ask such a question. This place needs a complete attitude adjustment.. and some new crew running the floor. The food was okay, took forever and all our meals arrived at different times.. and we were forced to order everything at once! Annoying! We will not be back!

Long overdue review from a few months ago - HUGE fan of Kismet Rotisserie so I have been wanting to try Kismet for awhile now. Made a reservation on a weekday for a family dinner and it was already quite busy by the time we arrived at ~6:30pm.Love how all the dishes are small plates so we can try a bunch of different dishes. Was a little underwhelmed because everything looked great but was so salty. At first we thought maybe it's just one particular dish but turned out every dish was super salty except for the persian crispy rice... we still enjoyed the dinner overall. Maybe it's just a one off incident where they put more seasoning than usual for that day? Since the menu is seasonal, I would love to go back and try out other items next time to compare my experience. : )
Be the first to ReplyFirst, I will start off with the one positive thing here.
Kelsey (spelling unsure). She was the manager who tried her best to fix things that were quite the catastrophe. The server we had was named Hannah, and oh boy was she one rude one for the books. Gotta drops names so people know who they're dealing with here. It was quite possibly the coldest and most rude waiter I've encountered. It was bad on so many levels I'm actually surprised she hasn't been fired. I assume by a lot of the negative reviews on here, the service and staff get pointed out a lot for their cold and rude behavior. Unfortunately the food wasn't great and doesn't make a lot of sense how they take their orders and request it all at once but then take FOREVER to deliver. And it's ok food, not the worst, but def not worth the wait or the drama. Unfortunately the other staff members were cold as well (except Kelsey the manager -- she was cool).
Be the first to ReplyDelicious food and great ambience.
The crispy rice is amazing. Can't believe the size of the chicken schnitzel

Delicious and so tasty! 3 of us ordered about 7 dishes to share. Each one was mouthwatering. Great place for friends or date night. :)
Be the first to ReplyVery cool spot with great service and a solid menu.
Came on a Friday night with a reservation and were seated immediately, but it was busy. Our server was funny and made some good recommendations. They only had beer and wine so we got a bottle of the rosรจ and it was so good we got another. Started with the marinated feta - It was tasty but I was expecting a good amount of feta and it was just 3 little pieces. The barbari bread was tasty and toasted just right. The best dish was the cucumbers - so flavorful, a must try. The chicken sandwich was very large which made it hard to eat. The tahdig was delicious! Overall, had a great experience and will be back!

I'm looking forward to our return visit.
Be the first to ReplyTasty, but man it was overpriced and slow.
So expensive for what we got. I think an appropriate rating would be 3.5 stars. A great date spot with romantic ambience and good food but you'll pay an arm and a leg. I'll round up to 4 stars because I enjoyed my company.
Be the first to ReplyOMG their flaky bread.
Just get it. Tear off a piece. Appreciate the perfect amount of crispiness and delicate buttery flakiness. Dip that piece in some hummus, or zhoug, or whatever delicious sauce you have in front of you. Then eat another piece. And another. And before you know it, you've put in another order of bread. Their little gems salad is amazingly refreshing and delicious. The lamb meatballs were tender and flavorful. The beans were meh. Our waiter was wonderful, but the rest of the service was lackluster. I definitely plan on returning someday just for the flaky bread.
