This is the best place for Japanese people to eat sushi in Munich.
It's hard to find good sushi in inland Munich, but this restaurant is highly recommended for Japanese people. It's worthy of being Michelin-starred. It's also conveniently located near the Residence and Marienplatz. If you want to find good sushi, it's a good idea to ask for a restaurant recommendation. The caviar was also pretty good.

A business meeting took me once again to KOI for lunch, beautifully and centrally located on Wittelsbacher Platz. You can't complain. Very good steaks (entrecôte and fillet) with a great Japanese touch, with mixed vegetables. Very friendly and attentive service. A lovely place on the first floor. Once again a really good experience - but it really does come at a price. Nevertheless, a clear recommendation.

The Koi has a great location and is modern and attractively designed. The space we were allocated when we made a reservation for two people was relatively small and cramped. You sit very close to your neighbor. The service was excellent. The price-performance ratio is a bit unbalanced. Very expensive for good but not very good food. All in all a good evening. But we won't come again. If you want to try unusual dishes, this is a good place to go.

Definitely my favorite restaurant in Munich, great Asian fusion cuisine with very good cocktails and a well-stocked wine list, the service is very quick and not intrusive, in summer a wonderful terrace

My husband invited me here for his 60th birthday and it was a wonderful evening outdoors with excellent food and very good wine. The restaurant gave me a small birthday cake for dessert, which was a real surprise and tasted delicious! Many thanks to the extremely attentive waiters who were there immediately when we needed anything.

Be the first to Replystill very good and still "fancy"
After a long time, we are finally back in Munich and at Koi. The food is still excellent, a large selection of dishes and drinks. The service is very attentive and helpful. We really like the ambience, Koi is still hip! We would be happy to go back
Be the first to ReplyUnfortunately very disappointing!
We have been wanting to visit the highly praised Koi for a long time. Unfortunately, we were very disappointed and we don't understand the hype at all. The service does not meet the standards for such a restaurant in any way. Although the wine was refilled without any love, we were not asked whether we wanted dessert and/or coffee. The biggest irritation by far was that we had barely said our order and our "freshly prepared" sushi & co. was on the table in an instant. How can that be? The explanation for this was that there are currently only a few guests there?!?! Very questionable :-). The food was OK, but it does not match what it promises and costs.

Bad reception for the customer because he refused to seat us and we waited a long time and it is not worth the visit ,,,,,,,,

Very bad experience with a staff and They don't respect customers From the first time I sat down, I felt like an unwanted person

We were two at the table and ordered a three course menu, including beef. The food offered a variety of interesting tastes and the beef was excellent. So to summarize, it is costly to visit KOI, but the food is very good, as well as the service.
Be the first to ReplyWorldclass Japanese Food
Being from New York, we are quite suspect about getting top Japanese/Sushi but we were very pleasantly surprised at Koi. The sushi was very fresh, innovative, and fairly proportioned. Beyond sushi, there is a wide array of creative Japanese dishes -- salads, cooked meats, fish, and vegetables. You will pay high prices for Munich but it was well worth it. Lastly, waiters were extremely friendly and entertaining. Highly Recommend Koi!

First time visitor to Koi and I'm not a big sushi fan... But I was pleasantly surprised with the excellent range of food. We were 5 people and ordered everything to share. Service friendly and competent. Atmosphere and lighting is really nice. It's worth to pay a little extra when the quality so good. Can only recommend this restaurant.
Be the first to ReplyGood Japanese for a change
We decided that we wanted to go to a Japanese place. For a change. Not to go to a German place. And we were advised this. Right in the center of Munich. With a terrace. The waiter was responsive, trying, English speaking. The service was ok, the food was fine, all looked and tasted fresh.
Be the first to ReplyNot bad but not great
The setting is fun. It's a great place to sit outside and watch the world go by. But the service was inattentive at best. There was no host at the front to greet diners, and a queue repeatedly formed at the entrance throughout the evening. Our waiter came once to take our order and never returned. We flagged down other servers for drinks and waited thirty minutes for the check after asking for it twice. We love sushi and frequently do the omakase option (chef's choice). Typically it's an excellent way to explore the menu and the chef's creativity. I'd describe this omakase as pedestrian—just a few standard rolls, a bit of sashimi, and nigiri. It was more like a variety plate of sushi and served in a single course. Disappointing.
