I've heard great things and it's really hard to snag a reservation in the 6-7pm window (had to book a month in advance). You can book through OpenTable so it is convenient from a technology standpoint. the high lights, the service was excellent. our server was friendly, helpful, patient and knowledgable. She answered our many questions and provided great recommendations, particularly the wine. lots of great greek wine, so much so there were orders of wine all around the host station. had we known the feast of the gods was the entire right side of the menu, we would've made a bigger reservation. Since we didn't have enough folks to take the feast of the gods we had to order al a carte. We started with the charcuterie with the beef and wild boar. Both were good, not overly salty but not overly powerful or pungent. We also ordered the tarmosalta which was solid, the star were the chips. Omg, the tiropita rolls were the best! I don't like bread and I could had 3 by myself. It was fresh and warm and fun to pull apart. We skipped the greens and went straight to seafood and meats. The bourdetto was easily the best dish we had the entire evening. The brother was delicious, although there were a few bones and scales. The octopus dish was our least favorite. The octopus was overpowered by the tomato sauce and parts of the pasta were undercooked. For the meat dishes, the moussaka was solid, but were outshined by the lamb and quail dishes. The quail was cooked perfectly, something I'd revisit. The lamb was tender and took on the stewed tomato flavor over a bed of orzo. Everyone enjoyed the dessert, the baklava had a nice presentation. Will come again and try the grilled seabream. We took it off because we ordered so much, but next time we'll swap something else out for it.

The brunch items at Krasi are too good, especially the sweet ones. I would recommend sitting outside on a warm summer day and enjoying brunch here. The wait times are usually high but for a smaller party, you can wing it (which is what I did for the 3-4 times I went). All in all, one of the most wholesome food places near Newbury, which is otherwise inundated by tourist traps.
Be the first to ReplyGood food and service.
The variety of food is both full and interesting. The drink menu is interesting. Lots of exotic selections.
Be the first to ReplyDips: The best thing we had.
The sourdough was good, but the dips were really the star of the show. Taramosalata was my favorite. It is so freaking umami and exploding with flavor and creamy. The htipiti (spicy feta) and tzatziki were also delicious. I was spooning up every last bit of those dips even after the bread was gone. Rizogalo: Very nice dish to round things out. The sweetness level is perfect - not too sweet at all, allowing the flavors from the whole dish to come together. Sfougato: This was pretty good, but I think I would rather try something else next time. Our server recommended 2-4 dishes and we got 3, which left us pretty dang full. Service was okay - our servers were terse and hurried.

We went here for the brunch: vibe was great, the service was good and the food was pretty decent. The souvla was kind of salty for my taste. The olive oil cake was good, a little too sweet. Lalagites were crispy and fluffy. My favorite was probably the quiche. Would love to try the dinner!

Our party of 8 sat in back for brunch and ordered many of the items in the back. first of all the coffee service is so adorable with server coming out with a tray and serving in cute mugs. Everything we ordered was presented well and tasted amazing , We really liked the lemon potatoes with yogurt, carrot with sesame encrusted feta, and the olive oil cake. Service was great Ambiance nice . Would definitely return!

I unknowingly booked my engagement brunch here and it was the best decision. I came across this restaurant after seeing their previous chef Valentine Howell get recognized for Best Chef Northeast with James Beard. Being from TN and always trying to venture out food wise I was curious to see how Greek food would be done in a brunch menu. We booked the reservation via OpenTable. Because we got engaged unexpectedly to me, we took a a few photos and we were running about 5 minutes behind so I messaged the restaurant directly on open table and told them about our exciting news and they were so kind and told us no problem at all. When we arrived they congratulated us, sat us down and brought out complimentary champagne to welcome us and shower us with care on our big day. We can't thank the staff enough for helping make our day so special. We decided among the 4 of us that we would order tapas style so we could try a bit of everything. We started with the dips trio. The first dip was almost like a spicy feta dip which was my personal favorite, followed by a great tzatziki and last but not least the taramasalata which was so silky and divine. The dips trio is a great appetizer for the table. We then had the Souvla and the couple we were with had never had lamb but we all agreed we could eat a whole plate ourselves. It was very tender and full of flavor. Next we ordered Avga Me Potatoes, the almost haystack of potatoes was such a great textural element against the luscious goat cheese cream. This was my personal favorite dish! We ended the meal with the Tsoureki. As a lover of everything sweet this was the perfect final dish for our meal. I could not get enough. The French toast was so light and paired perfectly with the maple whipped cream and the textural elements of the kataifi. The acid from the cranberry orange topping was the perfect cut of any heaviness you might feel from eating this. Our server was so friendly and attentive during our entire visit. The restaurant is very stylish but inviting all at the same time. It really had a fun relaxed and romantic atmosphere so this would be a great restaurant for a variety of groups. Again I want to thank the staff that we met on February 19th for making our day so special. I travel frequently for work so the next time I'm in Boston I will definitely be back to have dinner with you all. 10/10 must dine here!

This place is an amazing place to come for a date and to have a nice dinner. The place is really clean and the staffs are really nice. We got the tzatziki sauce which we got to make it ourselves with the instruction given. The bread was also served with the sauce which went really well together. I really enjoyed the cheese bread which was crispy on the outside and chewy in the inside. The octopus leg was really tender and was packed with flavor. I highly recommend checking this place out if you are in Boston and I will definitely come visit again to try different food on the menu!
Be the first to ReplyA delicious Greek-spot in Back Bay.
I made the reservation about 2 months in advance for a dinner reservation. What I will note, is that they have plenty of bar seating - if you arrive at opening (5PM/530PM), it seems like you can snag a spot quickly! The food was amazing - we shared everything tapas-style. The tzatziki dish was fun, they brought you all the ingredients to make yourself at the table. The rest of the food was incredibly flavorful. In addition, the wine list was expansive. We were served wine that was recommended by our waiter and it was great. Definitely a popular spot in Boston if you have interest in going! Parking is difficult in the area but you can ride share/take the T!

One of the few actually great restaurants in Boston with good food, energy, and also somewhat centrally located.I thought the food was great- the ppl who operate the restaurant seem like native Greek people (I might be wrong) but they certainly seemed quite authentic and genuinely enthusiastic about their menu offerings. I would highly recommend for friends, family, or dates.Fyi, it's quite loud and dim. Enjoy!
Be the first to ReplyHorrible.
This new infused twist on greek food is a no go. Service was pri- madonna that had no idea what they were talking about and salami is not greek. Forgot meal played greek music in bathrooms bit not in main dining area. Waited a while to go and was dully disappointed. Greek food is Rich in flavor and simple in ingredients. This is someone trying to out do their greek friend as a non greek.
Be the first to ReplyI'd like to think I was Greek in a past life, and Krasi
I'd like to think I was Greek in a past life, and Krasi delivered on my reincarnated dreams. About a month prior, I snagged a 6:30pm reservation for 2 through the Capital One dining reservation system, which was clutch since the regular reservation system on their website didn't show availability until at least 9pm on that Saturday. We were seated at the bar, where we were warmly welcomed by the bartender, who was very attentive and helpful throughout the night. The wines here are not to be missed, and reading through the witty menu is half the fun. I love the more unique offerings, including a few different orange wines by the glass. I opted for the semi-sparkling orange, which tasted funky with some notes of cider/kombucha. We also got to try Retsina for the first time, which is a wine with added pine resin - a very unique flavor. We tried a white Retsina along with a rose, which had notes of cranberry and rosemary (we agreed a bottle of this would be perfect for Thanksgiving). The food menu boasts so many enticing offerings; I wish I had multiple stomachs! We started with a cheese & charcuterie platter, which included loukanico, wild board sausage, and a smoky, hard cheese along with accompaniments of cornichons, capers, mustard, dried cherries, and fig jam. We also got two warm rolls filled with graviera cheese, served with olives and a delish, sweet butter. Despite already being pretty full after this, we had to try more: we ordered the lemony fried potatoes along with the octopus dish, which was an interesting take with kale & black-eyed peas. For dessert, we got the galakoboureko napoleon, which boasts layers of perfectly flaky pastry encasing custard and pistachios. We were dining at the bar for over 2 hours, enjoying our wine and food, and never felt rushed. I can't wait to return to try more of Krasi's unique food and wine, and get transported to Greece once again!

Food was overly greasy, not as flavorful as expected for this James Beard best chef, may try again. We had the lamb souvlaki, potatoes, prawns.

Love it here!!! My first visit to Krasi was for brunch this past weekend. I can't wait to go back for dinner. We had the dips, halloumi with carrots, and avga with patates. We also had some cocktails and wine. Everything was good, but I think the Halloumi was my fave. The crust on the cheese was sooo tasty. The ambiance was great. Chill but nice, and lots of small details like how they garnish the cocktails, and the Aesop products in the bathroom. Everyone who worked here was lovely, and our waiter gave us great recommendations.
Be the first to ReplyBartender very helpful in selecting an wine.
Great bottle selection. The Sea Bream, Roasted Beets, and Eggplant over Feta Polenta were all excellent and enough for two people. Cozy interior, not too noisy.

Love this place! The ambiance is so serene inside and the staff was so kind and knowledgeable. I came for lunch without a reservation so there was a bit of a wait, but it was worth it.I got a couple items to share with a friend and they were all delicious. I got the spanakopita, the Avga Me Patates, and the last dish was something like an elevated apple pie. the spanakopita was cheesy but not too heavy. The Avga Me Patates was a little heavier, but it was a classic brunch dish. The sweet dish was unlike anything I've had before. It was warm, had very fluffy whipped cream on top and was not overly sweet. Overall, all the dishes were amazing and I would go back again.

Going back in March for my birthday! Service was also great, really got to know the host and he told us more about the origin/concept of the food choices.

My overall first experience at Krasi was great from from a food and ambience standpoint! I love Greek and Mediterranean food, and Krasi elevated it to the next level in terms of flavor sophistication and food presentation. What my friends and I ordered:Tiropita: 4.5/5! Dense but fluffy and moist with slight aged cheese notesPatates: 4.5/5! It had an amazing blend of texture where it was soft and mashed in the inside but golden brown and crispy on the outside. The oregano bernaise it came with was a bit too Mayo-like and creamy for me given it was a dense potato dish from being fried. Skordostoumbi: 5/5! My FAVORITE savory dish! This baked eggplant had some char with notes of caramelized onion. The feta polenta doesn't pack too much flavor but contributes to texture, and the tomato is slightly tangy and creamy and can shine because of the polenta flavor.Fava: 3.5/5! The highlight is the pickled onion, but the flavor felt flat overall. The cracker-chip that it came with was also flavorless. Xtapodi: 4.5/5! The octopus was soft and chewy and bathed in a light broth. The beans were a nice texture change but did not add to the overall flavor complexity. Pikantiko: 4.5/5! The chicken was tender and soft, and it was overall a cozy dish due to the warm spice notes and softness of the chickpea.Makaronada me Garides: 3.5/5! It was salty, but pasta was cooked perfectly.Tsipoura: 4.5/5! The fish was moist and tender, but the flavor felt a little flat, so the capers were a nice touch of salt. The salad had a great crunch and was refreshing. The fennel and radish paired perfectly.Kormos: 5/5! My FAVORITE dessert dish! It was a harmonious blend of chocolate and hazelnut while not being too sweet. The halva ice cream was a great pairing because it was not too sweet, and it was a nice creamy combination with the dense cake texture.Galaktoboureko Napoleon: 4/5! The custard was too sweet especially since it was paired with ice cream. However, it had a great crunchy, and the vanilla paired perfectly with pistachio and honey.Overall, Krasi is great experience if you enjoy tapas and are going with a small group! Do reserve ahead of time. Also a side note that I loved their kitchenware and cutlery! From where?!?!

Was treated to a wonderful dining experience at Krasi! Staff asked us what we would like and they brought us several small to mediumPlates to share! The food and wine selection was phenomenal! Can't wait to go back! !

Inventive and modern. My favorites were the cabbage and the eggplant.
Be the first to ReplyLong story short, I made Greece as my next travel
Long story short, I made Greece as my next travel destination, thanks to Krasi. I cannot remember how many times we visited Krasi. It is my favorite restaurant in Boston! The experience of dining in Krasi is like a series of adventures, where I was introduced to the new world with delicious Greek food and wine by the Mediterranean Sea. First of all, the food-- They only used the freshest high-quality ingredients. The seasonings are well balanced, enhancing the original flavor of various vegetables and meats by adding a light hint of herbs. Krasi also works hard on highlighting the different textures of meats and vegetables. For example, the braised beef and lamb dishes are tender and juicy, that almost melt in the mouth; they NEVER overcooked the souvla, the best pork and lamb in town. The pork butt dish is extremely innovative and delicious. Before that, I never ordered any pork dish in restaurants. The pastitsada is an interesting course, in a good way. It reminded me of braised beef hand-pulled noodles that my grandma used to make for me (I'm Chinese). That makes me think about the food connections in different strains of cultures' evolution. The garden dishes are significantly underestimated. The chef put lots of thought and innovation to make the vegetables tasty while retaining their original flavor. Every vegetable dish I tried is quite interesting and delish. I never eat beets. But after I tried Krasi's beet salad, I'm in love with my beet yogurt dip. I also like the fresh and crunchy green beans, a perfect combination with the sauce. I love all the fresh baked breads and dips. I order the tiropita rolls every time, literally. Those soft, buttery, sweet, and savory breads are served warm. I have the best tzatziki of my life, creamy, lemony, with a fresh dill scent. Not all tzatzikis are equal! People here are always very nice. You can tell when people are truly knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and passionate about their food and wine. I can always trust their suggestions about wine pairings whenever I am lost in the list of unique Greek drinks. I cannot say enough good things about Krasi. They are my personal gateway to Greek culture by providing delish food and memorable welcomes!

Fantastic restaurant! The atmosphere was fun and the food was great. The fried bread they served as a complementary appetizer won me over immediately, but the tzatziki you make at the table will keep me going back.
