Rudest bartender I've ever encountered
I sat at the bar because I was by myself and the bartender was so rude. He barely waited on me and then when I mentioned I'd be a repeat customer if they had a New Zealand savignon Blanc instead of California his reply was then just don't drink it. ......instead of realizing he would lose a customer for being so rude.

Stopped in on 8/12 recommended by hotel clerk. What a pleasant surprise, Arrived about 7:30 parking spot out front and the night just got better and better. Asked for outside seating (on the dock) quickly ushered to table on rail, promptly attended to looked over extensive menu and decided to have broiled seafood combo which consisted of flounder, shrimp both stuffed with crab, and crab cake.I picked the scallop app which consisted of three giant scallops perfectly done served with drawn butter. With the combo we got two side picking cole slaw and steamed asparagus. We split the dinner and felt quite satisfied. My spouse enjoyed a watermelon basil infused cocktail and I opted for A Sam Adams. total without tip $71.00. Also included was two small dinner rolls that were scrumptious! Great seafood dinner not breaking the bank

We are taking a short trip prior to starting the next school year. During our trip we always look for varioys types of restaurants in the area. Tonight we chose Kyma a seafood. Great choice. Our waitress was extremly friendly and attentive. I got the broiled seafood...crabcake, stuffed flounder and stuffed shrimp. Great crab stuffing. Recommend hoghly.
Be the first to ReplyFabulous food and service!
We, two couples, arrived at Kyma at 5:15pm on a Friday and we were seated right away. Our waitress Jordan R took a couple of minutes to greet us, but she was so friendly and excited we easily overlooked that. She was genuinely happy to serve us - that or she’s an amazing actress too. The food, Lobster Bisque, salad, Crab Cake, Stuffed Flounder, Salmon, even the Creme Bulee - was all delicious! We left a generous tip to reward excellent service and to compensate for taking about 3 1/2 hours at the table. We will definitely be back when in the area again.
Be the first to ReplyA wonderful and delicious dining experience
We drove to Kyma's for a seafood dinner. It was EXCELLENT for being 75 miles from the ocean. Fresh, generous portion, really great service. We went on a Thursday night and still needed a reservation. It was completely sold out. We had oysters, fresh lobster, and a jumbo shrimp cocktail. Fairly priced for what we had.

3 of us ordered the king crab legs at market price, when they came out, none were what I would categorize as "good". They were alright but overcooked. I've had better at home when we bought frozen from the grocery store. Mine were the worst being dried, rubbery and sticking to the shell. When I asked to have them remade they returned from the chef who stated that they are IMPOSSIBLE to overcook as they are steamed and do I want them remade or a different entrée because they are only remaking it once. I received less crab legs than the previous plate. When finding they were almost 100$ a plate we were extremely disappointed. I contacted them multiple ways with no response although on Facebook messenger I can tell they read my message and I did get some auto generated thanks for your request We will be with you shortly email response, but no response even after I checked in a week later. A customer should never feel like a pain when the food isn't done well. Additionally the soup we ordered was served lukewarm. Ughh so annoyed.
Be the first to ReplyAmazing quality!!!
Many think that you need to be on the coast to find the highest quality fresh seafood..... they are wrong. Kyma knows what they are doing. Everything from the Alaskan king crab dinner, to simple fish and chips is amazing, perfectly cooked, perfectly seasoned, and perfectly presented.
Be the first to ReplyI went to Kyma tonight with Girlfriends 🍷
I went to Kyma tonight with girlfriends about 4:30 pm. We were seated right away, got our drinks and food order taken promptly. We were on the outside deck so that was nice. Everyone got something different and they were all thrilled with their dinner. I ordered one crab cake, asparagus, rice and the house wine $6. My crab cake was fabulous! I would absolutely recommend Kyma for seafood. Can’t wait to go back!

The best experience I ever had dinning out and I have been to a lot of places . The atmosphere was inviting and the food was exceptionally delicious !!. I had the best Tuna that I've ever had. Its better then in Florida and Ocean City, Md.ect. I will defiantly be back and refer to friends. Thanks for the wonderful experience.

Great food, service - DBD
I took my wife to Kyma for the first time last night and we both loved it so much we went back tonight BUT, the two nights were very different experiences and I would like to provide my feedback on both nights for those who may be looking to visit this restaurant for the first time...
Night One: We didn't know what to expect. I had taken the time to read hundreds of reviews and decided to give it a try. We arrived and were seated. Hilary was our waitress and took the time to answer questions and was super friendly. We even ordered a soup which we thought had no vegetables in it and she took the time to verify it DID have vegetables in it and asked if we would like to change our order. We did, and this was something that was above an beyond in our opinion. We continued to order an appetizer of a crab quesadilla which was huge and filled with crab meat. The Maryland Creamy Crab Soup was delivered and was delicious. It had lots of crab and no shell! May I add that the quesadilla was also delicious. For our main course we ordered the surf and turf which consisted of a 6 oz. filet and 1 1/2 pounds of snow crab legs (the 1/2 pound was added on) and the colossal crab cake. The colossal crab cake is absolutely amazing! No filler. No fuss. It is jumbo lump crab cake broiled and tastes amazing. The steak was cooked perfectly to medium rare just as I ordered. It needed some salt but I am not complaining for even a second because it was so tender and moist! We wound up ordering dessert because everything else was so amazing. The Creme Brulee (Not sure the spelling is correct) was excellent and we took a cheesecake home that was amazing. During our meal which lasted 1 1/2 hours, Hilary made sure our drinks NEVER went dry, was very attentive and was super friendly. Her service, matched with amazing food blew us away and made us fans of Kyma. At this point, I would have given a 5 out of 5 hands down...
Night Two: After our first impression, we were both excited to head back to Kyma and enjoy another night of amazing food and amazing service. This night, there were different staff. The person who seated us seemed less than thrilled to have us there. We were seated and several minutes later the waitress arrived to take our drink orders. We placed them and about 8 minutes later she returned with my wife's drink and asked, "I didn't write anything down, are you good or did you want something?" Uhhhh, I wanted what I ordered. I would like a Yuengling draft. "Oh okay, I will get that out to you." This happened several minutes later. "Are you ready to order?" "Yes, we would like..." At this point we ordered, were hungry and my wife asked for bread (which was brought with the water the night before) and Alex replied, "I will bring the bread when I bring your soup." As a side note, when we were seated, there was also a large table of 8 people seated which she seemed very interested in. They got her interest much faster than our simple table of two. At one point, I had an empty beer and an empty water and she asked that table if their drinks were okay and then exited the area without checking on us. Once our food was delivered, our drinks went dry again and took us making a point to draw her attention to get them refilled. I understand having a large table and/or multiple tables may slow you down but on several occasions we were ignored by Alex and the night prior we were never overlooked.
Final Review: The difference in tip showed between Hilary and Alex. I would give my overall review for night one a 5 out of 5 and my overall review for night two a 3 out of 5. The food was consistent, amazing and a 5 out of 5. The service was amazing the first night and would bring me back to Kyma but the service on night two would cause me to order curbside pickup OR cook my own crab legs at home... I spent nearly $500 over two nights and hope that this feedback can help any of you looking to visit this establishment for the first time. I do plan to visit again and sincerely hope that my next visit will be more similar to my first...
You have to try the Dock Pot
Are here first time last night to celebrate our 47th wedding anniversary. I ordered the Dock Pot which is boiled potatoes, corn on the cob, boiled clams, jumbo shrimp, and a pound of crab legs! The last bite was as good as the first and there was plenty. We ate in the outside deck and had the best waitress! Highly recommend this place! Who knew Lancaster County had such a great seafood restaurant?!
Be the first to ReplyBest Seafood & Steak In Area
I live about 15 minutes from Kyma and their sister restaurant Johnny's Steakhouse. It is probably the best restaurant within 15 minutes of Ephrata and really the ONLY decent restaurant around Stephens, Rheinholds, Denver, etc. In my opinion Kyma is probably the best seafood place in Lancaster County, there aren't many left. The seafood is always fresh and prepared well. All of their sides are great too. There is some idiot on here that wrote a review that says "PATHETIC" because he didn't get seated right away. Well, then go ahead down the road to Burger King. Kyma and Johnny's are always packed, especially close to dinner so you need to get there at the right time but the food is worth the wait.
Be the first to ReplyOverall Good Experience
My husband and I both had the crabmeat stuffed flounder as our entrees and they were very good. They were served in an extremely hot dish, which kept them at a great temperature until we were finished. I had garlic mashed potatoes and broccoli, served together on a different plate. both were barely lukewarm. They were edible, and tasty, but would have been much better if they'd been as hot as the flounder. My husband's baked potato was hot, but his sauteed mushrooms were also lukewarm. The dinner rolls served before our meal were delicious, hot and crusty, with soft centers. Our server was very attentive and personable. It was an overall good experience, but I now wish I'd sent the sides back and asked that they be heated to an acceptable temperature.
The prices are on the high side at Kyma Seafood Grill, but not out of the range that we've paid at seafood restaurants at beach areas. We might return if in the area again, but we also might look around for another restaurant.
Excellent Seafood in our local area
This has been open in our area for years and my husband and I finally made time to try it out. The food was was delicious and the service exceptional. I had the coconut shrimp, large serving and wow! Defiantly much better then the seafood chain. We will be back soon.

My Wife and I stopped in for a 4:30pm Sunday meal. I ordered the combo special stuffed Crab, Shrimp, and Flounder. My sides were the Crab Soup and Asparagus with Hollandaise sauce. $32.00. My Wife ordered Monterey Chicken with Bacon, caramelized onions and mustard. Two sides a Garden salad generously portioned with steamed Asparagus in butter sauce. $22.00. The service was prompt, friendly and courteous, food was served hot and perfectly prepared truly a place to try you will not be disappointed. My hats off to everyone at Kyma thank you it was a pleasure to dine with you.
