Excellent first courses, excellent wines
Excellent Italian restaurant in NY Excellent price quality Nice place, elegant atmosphere but with a touch of informality.... Highly recommended
Be the first to ReplyGood quality Italian food
Excellent spot for pre or post theatre supper. Good quality Italian food offering very quick service. Liver and onion was good although portion was very large and liver was perfectly cooked in chunks - I'm used to slices of liver. There's something on the menu for everyone as choice is wide. If looking for a traditional Italian restaurant in the middle of the theatre district, look no further.
Be the first to ReplyTasteless, bland food
Main course: BATTUTA DI POLLO ALLA GRIGLIA, Dessert: CROSTATINA DI MELE CON GELATO ALLA VANIGLIA - boring that the chefs have not bothered to taste the food - as the Italians are so conscious of tasting the food and that you as a customer get a taste experience - our experience of the food was that it was: tasteless, bland and thus really superfluous. There were quite a few waiters who lacked a basic understanding of their role - we had to ask them not to take plates despite the fact that the cutlery indicated that we were not finished. Really nice restaurant with good acoustics and which with small adjustments could do so much more - HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT

Our 2nd time dining here. Our first visit was excellent, our 2nd was just as good. The fried zucchini was a surprise in terms of its mammoth size and quality. Everyone’s entree was excellent with portions enough for another meal. Although stuffed had to fit in dessert which also did not fail.
Be the first to ReplyDelicious pre-theater dinner with incredible service
Had a wonderful dinner at La Masseria with two friends. The service was so friendly and professional. Our water glasses were never less than half and Omar our wonderful waiter asked us how we wanted to pace our dinner before our theater tickets. It was so refreshing that we had control over when our dishes were fired! The salads were delicious, (we had both the mozzarella and artichoke salads), and chicken, pasta and fish as 3 entrees. Each was favorable and cooked well. We sat on the upper, upper landing which at first I was disappointed by, but....our waiter was so attentive and while there was music and ambient noise, it was very pleasant. The staff each thanked us on our way out (soooooo nice). All and all - I will return.

We were in NYC for Broadway week which happened to coincide with Restaurant week . We visited on a busy Friday night. The restaurant had a special menu for Restaurant week with 3 choices for appetizers and 3 for entrees. All the items we tried were fantastic and the service was impeccable. Grazi !

We enjoyed eating here for our last dinner in NYC during a Christmas week vacation. We'd hoped to get reservations before seeing the Rockettes, but we waited too late. We did grab reservations for the next night based on reviews and the location around the corner from Hotel Theta. The atmosphere, food and service were perfect. It was elegant yet comfortable, with a wide variety of options for appetizers, wine and desserts as well as entrees, of course. My fish special was especially nice, but my husband enjoyed the scallop risotto and my daughter enjoyed her pasta. I'm actually glad they were booked before the show because dining here was an event in itself.

We ate quality and great tasting food. Very welcoming, professional and friendly staff, who made us feel at home on the evening of Christmas Eve. Good wine list. Very good desserts...we liked the ricotta dessert. All perfect
Be the first to ReplyAwesome food near Broadway plays!
One of the best, great food, nice ambiance, the servers were all polite, the meat dish good, the fish special yummy, plus sweet cheese deserts.
Be the first to ReplyExcellent food, good service
Went here for dinner before a show with my family. The service was outstanding, very attentive and our waiter went out of their way to accommodate our children. The food was delicious, loved the bread and lentils. The lobster risotto was just ok, but the salads, soup and pastas were amazing. Would go again for a special night out.

Found this on TripAdvisor. Always wary of large city restaurants, but we hit the jackpot with this restaurant! We were late because our show ran longer. No problem! Great start!
The restaurant was open and warmly decorated. We were shown to a table for two on the second level overlooking the restaurant. Our servers were true gentlemen. Professional. We felt relaxed and just enjoyed our time there. It was packed yet we did not feel rushed.
Food. Fabulous. I had the special Bronzino. My husband always has
eggplant and he loved his with pasta.
Sorry to say, we were stuffed and had no room for dessert, but watched some amazing desserts being delivered around us.
Great wine choices. Nice pours.
As we left, every server said thank you for coming. Just really made the place very special.
Highly recommend if attending a show in NYC.
great
Great food in an upmarket but casual environment. Service was good and quick. Expensive but reasonable value. We would readily return.

My wife and I dined at La Masseria before our play. We arrived at 5:00 and were immediately seated and attended to. We ordered the I CUCUZIELLI FRITTI ALLA CHEF PINO for an appetizer and found it to be extraordinary. For our mains, we had the AGNOLOTTI PIEMONTESI and the RAVIOLI DI ANGELINA. Both were suggestions and both were superb. The pinot noir was perfectly paired to both dishes. The service was spot on and we felt comfortable and satisfied throughout the entire meal.
Hats off to La Masseria. I LOVED it!
Excellent service. Excellent selection for Restaurant Week.
This is a great date place. They gave us a quiet corner as we requested in our reservation. The food selection was not varied (in the NYC Restaurant Week) but all we ordered were very good. Value for money, and excellent waitstaff.
Be the first to ReplyGreat Pasta!
Raviolis were good, pasta with eggplant excellent. Wish we’d been hungrier, as all courses looked exceptional. Great wine list.

To be fair we were also recommended this place by a NY couple and it was great. The Caymus wine was brilliant, you know who I am now. Foodbis excellent as is service by the manager who greeted us and Louis who served us. Gnocci is a must and all round great place. Will be back as promised
Thanks again
Good service
Went to have dinner with family. Food was good and good service Zucchini wasn’t that great. Oily but the buratta was good

We ordered the meatballs as an appetizer. Waiter said they were very large. $28 for 2 meatballs! They were good but way overpriced. I had the chicken parmigiana. It came with cauliflower and mashed potatoes. Both cauliflower and potatoes were cold! Chicken was a nice portion but had absolutely no flavor. My husband had the Bolognese and it was good.

We came here on the recommendation of a couple who live in New York. Our wine was very good. The special appetizers were great also. However for my entree ordered the orecchiette with broccoli rabe and sausage and was sorely disappointed. It was a pile of green, with almost no sausage at all. Highly Do NOT recommend that dish! It was almost a broccoli rabe pesto. Must have cost them $2 to make. The other food was good but overpriced for what they got. All in all I would suggest going elsewhere for better value for your money.
Be the first to ReplyOur First Time, but We’ll Be Back
Visiting from Michigan and our first time back to Broadway since Covid broke out, we saw two shows in one day and needed a place for dinner between shows. We found La Masseria on TripAdvisor and we’re so happy we did. We arrived somewhat early and our reservation was immediately honored, we were seated at a cozy little table for two, and water and a bread basket appeared as if by magic. The captain soon came for our cocktail order and I had a Cosmo that Carrie Bradshaw would have loved. In fact, I had two. My husband and I both enjoyed the extensive wine list. Our waiter was prompt and friendly but didn’t hover. For appetizers, the deep-fried zucchini strings were a delight, as was the carpaccio. My husband had the halibut, a special that day, and it was done to perfection as requested. They subbed out the carb at no extra charge. My veal piccata was equally delicious. An added bonus is watching some of the food being prepared/served table-side. With excellent service and lucsious food, we truly enjoyed this place. Smack-dab in the middle of the Theatre District, it’s an easy walk from almost any show to La Masseria. We’ll be back.

Great location, nice decor, efficient service, very tasty food with a wide selection of options. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal.
Be the first to ReplyVery good but not great. Overpriced.
Very nice dinner. Nice atmosphere and excellent service. Food was good; appetizers were better than main dishes. Eggplant parm was delicious. Also enjoyed the artichoke salad with avocado and pistachios. Meatball appetizer was delicious!! Entrees were not as good - special pasta with seafood was just ok. Bland and disappointing. Veal scallopini was good but not outstanding. Almond chocolate cake was good. Overall a good meal but nothing special. Not worth the price.
