La Paella Los Angeles Reviews from The Last Year
We stumbled upon this amazing cozy spot thanks to Yelp and
We stumbled upon this amazing cozy spot thanks to Yelp and boy am I glad my wife and I decided to give it a go. Right when you walk in, you can tell the service is top-notch. The staff makes you feel welcome right away, always on the ball with bread and making sure we never ran out of water. My wife and I kicked things off with grilled calamari, sautéed scallops, and chicken croquettes. All of them were delightful , but those chicken croquettes were something else - definitely the highlight for us. Then came the main event: our server brought us this awesome Seafood Paella, dishing it out into two perfect portions along with some of that amazing crispy, burnt rice on the side. The saffron rice mixed with all kinds of seafood - mussels, clams, shrimp, prawns, squid, and langostino - was just spot on. So good, so comforting. We wrapped it up with an espresso and a crème brûlée, both of which were just the cherry on top of a great meal. A huge thanks to the staff for making our experience so special. Can't wait to come back.
You really feel transported to a very charming restaurant
You really feel transported to a very charming restaurant in old Madrid. The menu is traditional tapas and paellas consistently executed with quality. The service is warm and professional. I look forward to returning soon.
My girlfriend and I hit a rough patch and we decided to
My girlfriend and I hit a rough patch and we decided to dine out for a dialogue. I had been craving a tortilla de patatas so I chose La Paella, the closest Spanish restaurant to her apartment. I was pretty grouchy when I arrived. Initially, things were tense. But the omelette was exemplary and the service very attentive. The dining room was the perfect setting for intimate conversation. By the end of the pitcher of sangria, we found our way back into each other's heart. Though we were the last to leave, the staff was patient and hospitable. Gracias, La Paella. We will always treasure that night.
The food was so amazing & the service was great.
10/10. We enjoyed our food. Ingredients were so fresh. Ambiance was also great.
I've passed by this place for years and have heard such
I've passed by this place for years and have heard such good things about it from friends who have eaten here before. This last Friday, I finally was able to dine there with 3 other friends. After having eaten at other newer and more authentic Spanish restaurants in the LA area, I can say that the food at La Paella is OK, not great. I was particularly disappointed with the seafood paella, which we ordered with bomba rice (long grain was used if bomba was not requested) and paid $2.50 more per person. Though I asked for soccorat, there was very little in the paella we were served. There was plenty of yellow rice, not seasoned with saffron (couldn't taste it). The one-inch layer of rice was just a bit too wet for my preference. The seafood was cooked well. The Pan con Jamon (Not Iberical Ham) was pedestrian. The Patatas Bravas weren't as crispy as I would like them to be, but they did have a nice cake. Flan with Orange was the dessert, and it tasted nothing special, and I certainly didn't taste the orange. Service was solid. I find La Paella to be a restaurant stuck in time with its food and recipes, while the newer Spanish restaurants that are popping up in the LA food scene since 2020 are bringing brighter and a more modern take on Spanish cuisine.
I just want to say thank you to the cooks to tour server Mr
I just want to say thank you to the cooks to tour server Mr Tudor the food was delicious. It's a small cozy place to eat at it's worth the wait. If you are having Paella it's made in the moment so it will take a good 30 minutes but if you know what paella you want call when you are like 20 minutes close to the restaurant and this way the wait will be less. Definitely try the Sangria yes I loved it and so did my husband and he doesn't really drink wine he's more of beer. But he said wow this is really good. Also the chocolate moose delicious My husband and I shared it because we were full but I couldn't leave without trying it. So yes brunch time good idea plan it out. Call ahead enjoy. You won't be disappointed if you know of someone looking for a place where they make Paella this is the spot. I've ordered from here but for pick up only.Definitely eating at the restaurant was a whole different experience. Definitely coming back to eat there.
I've been a loyal and consistent visitor to this restaurant
I've been a loyal and consistent visitor to this restaurant for over 5 years... I make the drive to Los Angeles at least once a month to eat here. Family owned, you too, feel like family dining here. I've tried Paella from one coast to the other and while many have their own expression and take on it LA Paella always keeps a consistent flavor every time with their authentic recipes. I highly recommend lunching or dining here it's a MUST if you're in the area and even if you're not make the drive out they are worth IT! I will continue to send everyone I know looking for authentic and fine cuisine to LA Paella... your next dining destination or bucket list dining experience. Service is impeccable! The ambience reminds you of home because it embodies that with their homey flavors and friendly staff. DON'T miss out!
Good service.
Good food. The ambiance is ok. Prices could be much better. Not sure if it's worth it.
Tried La Paella for the first time.
Sadly, it's very mediocre Spanish paella (my family is Spanish from Spain). We tried the meat version & vegan version. We also tried several appetizers: Chicken croquetas Good, not great Gambas Al aljillo - terrible, shrimp was puny, lacked flavor Pan con tomate - good Meat paella - not great. Lacked saffron flavor and the crunch of the rice. Paella was not prepared well. Vegan paella - zero flavor They get 2 stars for excellent service & ambiance. I wish it was better.
La Paella always provides a delicious and simple Spanish
La Paella always provides a delicious and simple Spanish meal. The ambiance is quiet and quaint. The selection of Tapas is big. My favorite dish is the Branzino cooked with the big salt. It's always so fun to see the server set it on fire table-side. I love the clean flavor. Sauce is not necessary. I love this restaurant and I'm so happy that it survived the Pandemic.
