Everything about this place was wonderful.
The chef, K7, was extremely fun, knowledgeable, charismatic, and wasn't afraid to help you pair the right foods (flavors) together. I was with coworkers from California and Costa Rica...and they all loved it. We were all on the same page about the great food and the overall experience. We shared the spicy curry shots along with crispy onions, veggie-balls, chutney platter, yogurt rice with mutton, butter chicken, cauliflower plate and a leafy naan. I cannot remember the names, but they were all phenomenal. Also the Rumala (I think that's what it was called) was a mix of rum and masala tea that was served hot in a small tea kettle....amazing. Thank you K7. I will be back next time I'm in Singapore!
Be the first to ReplyGood food but overpriced.
They appeared to be purposefully unclear about the pricing. And we spent much more than expected. In our opinion, somewhat deceptive. But the place was empty and I think they are hurting for business.
Be the first to ReplyFood and service are excellent.
Came here 6 years ago on my only other trip to Singapore and had to come back - it was as good as I remember!

Taste great and great quality. There is our go to place for indian food.

3.5 rating. Food was tasty hands down. The menu and recipe was spot on. And the spice challenge and the clips add a nice touch to the restaurant. We were served with utmost care and politeness, and loved the attention and recommendations from the staff. I would have liked the portion size to have been a little more for the price. And felt some parts of the restaurant definitely needed some renovation. Very empty at around noon because of COViD i believe. Overall nice to try out this place for the first time.

My initial visit to Lagnaa was one I will cherish for a lifetime. I am not certain what I enjoyed more, the meaningful conversation with the chef of the authentic and flavorful food. I loved it so much, I returned again the next night. Oh and the frozen mango margarita pairs well with every dish ;) .

I can not believe I have to write a review like this in 2020. The owner was disgustingly rude and condescending. He refused to explain the dishes to some of the folks in our group that had never experienced Indian food before. Having traveled all over the world and been raised in Hong Kong, China. I have never encountered a chef not being able to describe the sauce his dish was prepared in. To make matters worse, we saw this (attached) sign on the way out of the restaurant. Tasteless. Those who had a variety of dishes explained that it was all bland and lacked a great deal of flavor. In our short five minute encounter with the owner he said the following:- he called my friend an "eager beaver" because he inquired about the sauce the lamb was prepared in. - he said describing the sauce of a food is comparable to "describing the color red to the blind" (not knowing that a close family member of mine is blind so that comment was not only insensitive but hurtful)- he said that we should be simple and order tandoori because he didn't want to take the time to explain the Marsala sauce - he caused my mother to cry afterwards because he embarrassed her as she asked for her butter chicken to be spicy (instead of explaining that his restaurant does not make their butter chicken spicy, he took the opportunity to say that she should know better to ask a question like that and there is no such thing as spicy food lol)I could go on for days about the owner of this establishment but instead I am grateful for platforms like this that allow me to share our dreadful experience with people all over the world. I intend to also post to google, Facebook, share throughout my sorority and inform my grad school friends and cohort at Harvard. In 2020, I refuse to support establishments that are perceived as racist, prejudicial, exclusionary and condescending. There are too many great (and tasty) restaurants worldwide to support hole in the wall establishments like this.
Be the first to ReplyTerribly rude service.
Condescending waiter.Does not like to explain the dishes. Likes to chastise and make fun of customers.

Despite how delicious the food was and how fun the atmosphere is - i was nickeled and dimed on a level ive never experienced.... A suggestion for me to "try" what sounded like a complimentary piece of pickeled cucumber (the size of a toothpick) was $9.00 SGD open table charge....pretty outrageous especially after i was talking to the owner about gardening and cooking and he said try it just try it... and then charged me $9.00. $9.00 for a piece of vegetable that took up 10% of a soy sauce bowl. No warning as to the charge beforehand. Not cool. Shame on you. Oh and a water bottle - bc tap wasnt an option is $4.00 SGD. You also cannot take any leftovers home if you dine in. Something about the salivia mixing into your dish - if anything happens to you, they would be in trouble. Despite the fact that i put my chicken on a plate and didnt eat directly out of the bowl......
Be the first to ReplyPretty disappointing.
I was lured in by the billboards out on the street promising a Michelin bib gourmand worthy meal. The bill was basically US$100 for two set price meals that had several courses, as well as an ala carte curry with a side of naan and rice and three beers. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't great either, especially considering the price. The place seems to cater to westerners, as it seemed like only westerners were eating there, though that could simply have been my limited observation.

Coming to Little India in a place with this great reviews and a Bib Gourmand I was honestly expecting a bit more. We ordered a "large" butter chicken (which was recommended by the chef), a basmati rice, and two naans. Took about 30 min to get the food, which is not a problem at all. The large portion was a bowl, with a lot of sauce and not so much chicken. The meat was incredibly tender, you could see they knew how to cook - but honestly small and a bit underwhelming to cost 24 dollars. We spent 68 dollars on our meal, probably could have been half the price in a different location in the neighborhood, for the same (or perhaps) better flavor.
Be the first to ReplyThis is one of our favorite places to come as a family.
We make it a point to come back - at least once, but usually more - every single time we travel to Singapore. The food is delicious, the staff couldn't be friendlier, and my girls love the barefoot dining upstairs. If you are in Singapore, find a reason to visit this place. I can't wait until we travel back.

What. A. Treat. After a hot day walking around Singapore, a cold beer and tasty butter chicken made me so happy! I went wimpy of the spice level but it suited me fine. Service was delightful. Open air table made for great people watching.
Be the first to ReplyLots of heat, not much on flavor and definitely overpriced.
It's no accident this place was empty on a Saturday night compared to other restaurants in the area. Extremely small portions. Definitely not coming back. DEFINITELY.
