Le Bordeluche was our first dinner in fast- paced Paris! Based on presentation and ingredients. We walked around a bit and after seeing all of the choices out there we stepped in to the quiet space. For whatever reason there was only one other two top being served! I think they deserve a lil more business tbh!The space is warm and intimate. The waitress was very willing to help us go through the menu with the little amount of French that we've been practicing so that at some point we were able to make decisions. We tried a beautiful pinot noir and at 8€ a glass was worth the money and paired well with our selections. First course was a well balanced mix of mackerel, white asparagus, almond and a white sauce that was subtle enough to let the tender piece of fish be recognized. It was very fresh!Second courses were a veal dish and a duck dish. The veal came with baby beets, beet purée, a parsley coulis, and an interesting anchovy emulsion. The duck dish was very simple and cooked to perfection paired with a slab of celery root that was seared and topped with a purée of itself and shiitake mushroom. The dessert course was rhubarb confit with a type of pound cake, strawberry gel, popcorn and a quinelle of strawberry ice cream. The popcorn was my favorite part! But the rhubarb was hard to eat with just a spoon.Service was smooth and quiet... We were able to talk with eachother without having to speak loudly. It was a romatic evening and a great start to our Paris trip!
