Underrated restaurant alert! Made a reservation for a weeknight and had an amazing meal at Le Fond. My boyfriend and I both started with the cappelletti spritz cocktail and some Hudson Valley chicken liver mousse, then shared: + Great meadow farm heirloom tomatoes + Stuffed black horse farms snap peas + Veritas farms egg tagliatelle + Williams farm zucchini cappellacci + Black horse farms berry tartlet The highlight was the zucchini cappellacci, but everything was fantastic. Will be back for more ASAP!
Be the first to ReplyLe Fond is an absolute gem and quite charming.
It's quiet but just busy enough, and the amount you pay for what you get is great. I chose the sourdough bread, which came with the restaurant's butter, and it was definitely a good choice. I can't quite remember what the fish was for the 4 course option that was offered, but it was absolutely delicious. My brother got the steak frites. I tried some of his, and I'll say that my fish was definitely better as the steak seemed very plain to me. I'd recommend trying something else other than the steak frites. The cheese spreads were great, but next time, I'll probably opt for the dessert option. The wine I got paired perfectly with my fish, and our server was attentive and made sure we always had our waters full. Overall, we had a great time and told the server we'd be back again, especially to try the cheese fondue. A solid 4.5/5!
Be the first to ReplyWe went for dinner on a Thursday night.
It's a small space but it didn't feel cramped. There wasn't a large cocktail menu, we got two out of the three that were available. The fondue was amazing and needs to be ordered 24 hours in advanced. We did the 5 Hors d'oeuvres which were delicious. Everything so good. Highly recommend.

Great neighborhood restaurant for a tasty dinner that is becoming a family favorite. The four course tasting menu is very good price quality and allows to select from the full menu, with a surplus for some of the daily specials. The restaurant also serves interesting cocktails.

The phrase "must visit" is certainly appropriate for Le Fond. We had a wonderful evening introducing Le Fond to visiting family members who were certainly impressed! At dinnertime, the candle lit tables gave a warm ambiance to the place. Standout dishes were the crispy salmon skins - a fun appetizer that will remind you of Pork Chicharron. Another memorable dish is the Roman gnocchi: crispy on the outside, creamy on the inside - such a complex and delicious bite! The menu changes often but if you can, we highly recommend the soup served in a champagne flute, which was unique and added a nice touch of elegance to our dining experience. For the main dish we ordered steak frites, which were perfectly cooked. Ask about ordering some sourdough bread, you can get some 24 hrs in advance to continue enjoying this amazing place the day after. Overall, we highly recommend Le Fond for an exceptional evening treating guests, a date, or just friends in Greenpoint.

Worth putting in your rotation of date night and fun nights out.

3.6 starsPresentation: 4.5 | Taste: 3.5 | Service: 3I came across this place while exploring the neighborhood. We got the four-course option. Although food portions fluctuate, the presentation is lovely. Flavors are great but, at times, on the salty side. The chocolate cake dessert was super delicious tho. Unfortunately, not a lot of glass options for the wine(basically only bottles), and the service was meh bc the waitress forgot part of our order. Overall, I did have a good evening here, but I will probably not come back anytime soon as there are other options in the neighborhood to explore.

My bridesmaids planned the perfect bridal shower for me at Le Fond. It was held during the afternoon when the restaurant is usually closed. We had the entire space to ourselves and I couldn't stop raving about how beautifully presented and delicious each dish was. We were served salmon tartare, lobster terrine, house ricotta agnolotti, sir William farm pork two ways and a dark chocolate mirror cake along with some wine pairings. I was so impressed by each dish, especially the lobster and house ricotta agnolotti because of how unique and flavorful they were. The staff were all very friendly and super accommodating. I highly recommend having a private event here or stopping by for dinner.

Dinner here was absolutely amazing! Love the creativity of the daily menus. The cabbage appetizer and steak frites were unreal. As was the apple almond cake dessert. Their homemade bread & butter was wonderful. Our waitress was excellent!

Sublime everything. The way you wish your home would be - serene lighting, clean and calm decor, amazing smells, lovingly prepared French food. All in greenpoint. Thank god they survived the pandemic. We will dine here again and again.

Came here w my husband late on a Saturday night with no reservation but they were able to accommodate us pretty quickly. Opted for the 4 course meal (app, veggie, meat & dessert/ cheese). First of all they had Gamay by the glass which was SUPERB. Second, the food was so so incredibly phenomenal. Each dish was lovingly prepared w care, you could tell the chef studied in France. Opted for the mouse, asparagus, lamb & cheese. Husband had the stock, asparagus, lamb & cheese. 10/10 would recommend to a friend!

Be the first to ReplyOne of my favorite restaurants in the city.
Delicious food, lovely interior and great service. I first came here for my birthday dinner with my husband and we both loved it. We both ordered the 4 course option then. Everything was absolutely delicious and the portions were quite big - a little bit too big in fact so next time we visited I decided to order a la carte. I was once again not disappointed and loved everything I ordered. I was also very excited to discover they sell their delicious sourdough bread to go. It's a little pricey so it's not something I order every day but every time I do I look forward to picking it up haha. It's so hard to find high-quality, tasty bread in NYC! Theirs is crispy and flavorful and tastes amazing with their signature butter.
Be the first to ReplyWe got the 4-course option and had an amazing meal.
Everything was inventive and prepared with lots of attention to detail, without being pretentious, and most importantly, super tasty.Let's see, we had: salmon tartare, pork pate, cauliflower caesar, beets, strip steak, pork belly, almond cake, and apple tart. Each of these was crazy delicious. My husband and I feel so lucky to have found Le Fond. We live 10-mins away, and we will be back a lot.
Be the first to ReplyI love it here.
The food is so good and the service is excellent, and the most surprising thing is how reasonably priced everything is. We had a craving for fondue (order a day in advance!) and they were super accommodating with our reservation. Can't wait to go back for the pre fixe dinner. Just a gem of a place.

Everything about this striving restaurant tucked away from Williamsburg's hullabaloo is pitch perfect. The welcome, service, spacing of tables, wine list and vegetarian options (without compromise) surpassed expectations. Enjoyed mushroom pate, eggplant hummus, mussels succotash and finished with delicate pastries - all for the 4-course option. It's quiet and civilized. I'll return.

Best meal we've had in NYC so far! Food: shared different options on the tasting menu which changes regularly. We ordered the tartare (4/5), tagliatelle (10/5), beets (5/5), burger (5/5), mussels (10000/5), and shared the dessert sampler that included truffle, macaron, choux bun.Service & Ambiance: Amanda was great! And Chef Jake was also around and very involved! Nice homey ambiance too.Wine was excellent! everything we tried (the whites and reds) were delicious and paired great with the food. Can't wait to come back! Worth a special trip to come here for sure.

Soooo Good! Love this restaurant ! The fish of Quick-Brined Hake was not so fresh, but the fish side dishes were very good. The other main dishes and side dishes were very good. I personally like stuffed Caramari and today's rabbit meat and Black Horse Farms Blue Adirondack Occhi! The appetizer All Five Hors D'and & the freshly-made dessert Chocolate Soufflé were a good start and a perfect ending for this dinner

Le Fond has the look and feel of a humble French country resto: tastefully appointed, comfortable, nothing pretentious. Everything about the place has been expertly executed; it's clear that this is the work of a chef-owner who cares about every plate that he serves. The housemade bread is first rate. The pappardele primavera starter delicious. The octopus equally inventively prepared and tasty. I had the pork chop, a very generous portion; my partner had the mackerel. It's a pleasure to experience, in Greenpoint, un repas a la tradition.
Be the first to ReplyWhat an absolute gem.
Delicious creative dishes without being pretentious. We did the 4 course meal and it was delightful and very reasonably priced. Great wine as well. The ambiance was nice and our waitress was so attentive and lovely. Can't wait to come back for the summer menu!
