This was also our favorite dinner in Paris.
The food was delicious. We especially loved the salmon. The small bites style was great, got to try out a number of plates. Hats off to the chefs/owners who were very friendly. Very warm and inviting place and I hope to get back to one day. Highly recommend!

It's weird to say this but this was our favorite meal in Paris. (and we had some very fancy meals there)Every dish was a delight. We had the pleasure of sitting at the bar so we could see them work and ask questions about any of our dishes. The chefs and the staff were super friendly and fun.I would love to go back if I'm ever in Paris again. The place gets full quickly so try to make a reservation! I saw many hopeful patrons get turned away because they couldn't seat anymore people.

The food was exquisite and the portions were miniscule; I found myself wishing that the dollop of daurade tartare would quadruple in size on the plate. The same goes for practically every dish that we ate: delicious and left us wanting much more. We probably underordered, but we were somewhat put off from ordering more by the pacing of the meal and the wait time between dishes. The two chefs work VERY hard and with great dedication to their craft behind the comptoir, as does the lone waitress who is responsible for all of the front of the house stuff. I suppose we were too hungry to appreciate this to the extent that we could have; this would be a great place to go if you were looking for a light meal, but don't expect a large, satisfying meal.

I come to Paris for a few months every year just to eat my way through the city. For three years my favorite restaurant in Paris never got knocked out of the top spot; but that changed this year with the opening of Le Rigmarole. Let's break it down. The main idea here is to do incredibly high quality ingredients over a superior charcoal flame for the best Japanese grilling experience possible. Spoiler alert: THEY NAILED IT. And besides being masters behind the grill, the two chef team puts so much care and detail into each aspect of the dishes they create. They make the best tempura I've ever had. Why? Because they use expensive, excellent beer in the batter. They also make all of their pastas from scratch and they are just unreal. You'll think your at your Italian grandma's house for a special holiday dinner they get them so right. Besides the food, Chris, their wine gal has supplied a terrific variety of wines you'll most likely not find anywhere else. These aren't super over-priced, snooty wines, they are good, unique, and interesting examples of how varied wine can and should be. She's really got a special talent for it! Besides the food and wine, the place has an excellent atmosphere. It's stylish, clean and inviting. The layout is warm and unlike many places in Paris you actually have some personal space. I just can't recommend it enough. Five stars and we'll done.

My girlfriend and I went during a romantic vacation to Paris. The server, Chris-Marie, made us feel at home and welcome. She suggested the chef's menu and a paired wine. The food was outstanding, varied, and fun! The Co owners and chefs created a three hour culinary tour de force including a buckwheat ice cream that reminded my girlfriend of her childhood. Well done Rigmarole! We will be back!
Be the first to ReplyGreat spot in Paris for a dinner.
We visit Paris once or twice a year for a few days and this is now on the list as a must hit. Run by a couple who are trilingual (not that this really matters, but it's fun to hear them switch between the three), they serve up fantastic food. We did the tasting menu and was floored by some of the foods I would never have imagined (and even feared) throughout life. One perfect example was rare to medium rare chicken that would best be described as chicken sushi. I know it sounds appalling, but it was a gem. Every other item was great and a nice change from typical french bistro. Make a reservation because the spot doesn't seat more than 30-40 people and was packed.

This is a very nice place, well decorated and cozy. Staffs are all very nice and helpful (kindly explaining the French menu for us).BUT! Grill dishes are heavily over cooked, had black surface and tasted bitter. Staff says they are suppose to be like that. I can only say I've never ate any grill dishes like this in Japan.Coeur, Gésier and pigeons are fine, but the meatball, chicken thigh and especially the vegetable is terrible. The food taste okay if you get rid of the burnt part though.Good place for a drink afterall.
Be the first to ReplyLe Rigmarole is an extraordinary restaurant.
This is culinary art unlike any I have ever experienced. We had the ´Chef's menu'. It began with pickled radishes and kohlrabi then evolved through a series of tiny bowls -delicate coquilles saint-jacques, the most extraordinarily prepared oyster I've ever tasted (grilled with garlic), steamed egg (like eating a cloud), endives which I don't usually like and here so delicious ; brochettes : fish, chicken... grilled to perfection, all culminating in an exquisite array of deserts, Jesse and Robert behind the counter preparing one delicacy after another, Chris the waitress explaining the dishes... A fluid choreography from the preparation of each morsel to the way in which Chris brought these mouth-watering treasures to the table. We savored each exquisite dish with absolute wonder and delight. Such mastery. This is Culinary Art. Breathtaking.
