View from far end of the restaurant We tried the Chicken Pstilla appetizer, and Couscous D'Agneau. Casablanca Moroccan was very tasty. As were the little and terrific black olives amuse bouche. This is clearly a populist local joint. Atmospheric but not overwhelming Moroccan background music. I'd go again!

Excellent Marocan restaurant! The food was amazing with a great selection of couscous and tagines, marocan dessert and fresh mint tea. Despite the restaurant being full the service was attentive and spot on, and as importantly the atmosphere was just right (not noisy at all).I highly recommend and will go back again.

The only bad thing about this restaurant is that I didn't discover it until our last day visiting Paris. Simply the best restaurant I've dined at during our 12 day visit to France. I asked about which region of Morocco the food is from (Aghadir/Sousa) and I cant wait to visit.

This is a cosy place with a lovely ambience. I'm not a big fan of Incense but that's the first thing you smell when you enter the restaurant and fortunately it wasn't overpowering. The service was good but don't expect the food to brought out as soon as you sit. The goal here is to eat your meal in a relaxed and leisurely manner. We ordered martinis one white and the other red! They were certainly not the US type of martinis, and tasted closer to sangrias. For appetizers we tried their samosa platter. It was a bit of a hit and miss. The meat and the vegetarian samosas were excellent, but the cheese samosa wasn't that great. I ordered the lamb tagine with prunes and almonds. It came in a lovely broth with bread on the side. Absolutely delicious. The lamb was amazingly tender and the broth was immensely flavorful and asking to soak the bread. The dish does get a bit overwhelming towards the end, but overall amazing.

The exterior is unassuming. The interior is cozy and welcoming. The ambiance is relaxed and comfortable. The service is warm and attentive, and the food is genuinely incredible. I quite seriously believe that tonight I had one of the best meals of my life. I arrived at 8:30pm on a Sunday evening, with no reservation. The place was fairly busy. I would estimate there to have been 50 people in the restaurant. The decor was gorgeous. Golds, royal purples, pastel blues, rich jades and deep maroon tones graced the walls, the furniture and even the tables. Melodic, nicely-volumed Moroccan music swept through the restaurant. A subtle tone of incense burning near the bar wafted through the air. I immediately got excited. This place seemed legit. We were greeted promptly, and despite the busy hour and having had no reservation, we (my brother and I) were given a cozy corner table within 15 minutes. While we waited for a space to free up, one of the two men working the floor asked if we'd like to see the menus and place our orders in advance of taking our seats. We felt this was extremely thoughtful of him, and we did just that. The moment we sat down we were poured a glass of water, and offered some complimentary light snacks that included some wonderfully simple, yet flavourful, spiced potatoes, carrots and olives. It was only a matter of moments before our first course arrived. A delicious chilled salad of roasted peppers and tomatoes. This dish was accompanied by some rustic breads which were made even tastier when dipped into the flavourful juices of the salad. Our main courses came swiftly after we finished our appetizer. We had two dishes: a caramelized-pineapple chicken tagine, and a chicken t'faya cinnamon couscous. The presentation of these dishes was exquisite. The chicken tagine was crowned with some sort of aromatic jam and roasted almonds. I'm not entirely sure what it was to be honest, but the aroma and taste was absolutely brilliant. The t'faya (I hope I'm spelling this right) was wonderfully aromatic as well. The fragrance of caramelized raisins, figs and cinnamon immediately tickled our noses. We ate these ones slow. Which isn't something I'm prone to doing. We savoured every bite, allowing our palettes the time to understand the intricacies of the dish. There were so many exciting cues to discover. I can't speak more highly of these dishes. Absolutely perfect. For dessert we shared a creme brulee (when in Paris) and the "house special": a very unique concoction of Avocado, nuts, honey, spices, and orange juice. Both dishes were a pleasant surprise. Not entirely what we imagined at all, but incredibly tasty. For finishers we had some flavoured coffees. They came piping hot, with notes of thyme, cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg and orange blossom dancing around the rim. These were powerful little brews. Extremely strong flavoured, rich and full of character. I've never tasted coffee like this anywhere in the world. This was a treat. Throughout the evening our servers were masterfully attentive. Despite serving 50 (or more) patrons both food and drinks, in addition to making said drinks them selves, neither of them missed a beat. They were absolutely wonderful and without provided us with some of the very best service we've ever received. I cannot say enough positive things about this place. If you're in Paris and you appreciate a masterfully crafted culinary experience, you must go to Le Sirocco. You will not be disappointed. Enjoy the pics!

My daughter and I had a wonderful meal here on our last night in Paris. The lamb tagine that i had was tender as can be and my daughter raves about her saffron chicken and sausage dish. Yes they bring way too much cous cous and we could have ( should have) skipped the appetizer - it was wonderful though. We left needing the 10 minute walk back to our hotel but feeling quite satisfied.

The atmosphere and decor are charming and romantic and the staff was friendly. English menus and quick service. We shared a vegetarian couscous (veg. stew) with sides of semolina, chick peas, and golden raisins. Nice appetizer put on the table: tasty little cubes of potatoes and carrots, and green olives. They gave us a little pot of spicy stuff but we weren't interested. We shared a Laban drink (buttermilk) which really went well with the meal. We also shared an order of Moroccan pastries flavored with orange, anise, almond, etc. Will go back. Rather astounded by the quantity of food and meat other people consumed.

Warning: Make sure to call to see if they will be open! We were looking forward to trying this place and they were closed when it said on yelp and online open. Also, my mom made a reservation for that night and there were some reservations booked so there was every indication it was open. Dissapointing!!!!

Amazing Moroccan experience! Make sure to make a reservation just in case! Smells of incense and food. Very intimate space that will transport you to a small & cozy restaurant in Morocco. The couscous will expand, add juices to it first! The lamb tagine with sweet potatoes was delicious, it came out in the earthen plate/pot that it was cooking in.
Be the first to ReplyOn a blisteringly hot night we decided we wanted Tagine.
Don't ask me why. It's August and almost every Tagine place was closed for vacation. But not Le Sirocco. It was in the neighborhood(ish) so we decided to go. Great decision. Like others have said it is decorated to make you feel like you are in Northern Africa, or at least what the non-African imagines North Africa to look like. The menu was a good size with a great variety. We shared a spinach appetizer which was excellent. I got chicken tagine with olives and lemon and hubby got lamb tagine with artichokes and peas. It was really, truly boiling when it arrived at the table, adding to the heat of the night. We had to wait about 10 minutes before we could really dig in. But it was worth it. The flavors just popped, the meat was fall off the bone tender, but still succulent. The olives in mine were full of flavor. The bread that accompanied the meal was a thick, small, round pita-like bread. The tagine was not served with couscous, just in case you expected it. We topped off the meal with Moroccan patisserie--delish.
Be the first to ReplyAbsolutely delicious Lamb Tagine.
I arrived shortly after they opened and found the place was empty. The decor was a very cool cavernous feel; complete with exposed stone walls, Berber Muskets and Daggers, Moroccan lanterns, and a pleasant scent of incense. Definitely felt authentic. After awhile a few regulars arrived and the ambiance was that of a nice, quiet local restaurant. As I said, the €17 Lamb Tagine was excellent, as was the wine and my dessert. It's very difficult to find good North African food in many parts of the U.S., including many major cities, so I highly recommend this place to anyone who loves or would like to try good Moroccan food.
