Delicious and fabulous service...
We thoroughly enjoyed a delicious dinner and very nicely priced wine and look forward to returning. Thanks for a lovely evening...

There were 8 of us there for dinner. None of us will return. I don’t mind paying for good food and good service but this was not the case. It was very overpriced for what we had. Three of us ordered steaks and not one was cooked to our requested doneness. The service wasn’t great either. Don’t waste your time or money.
Be the first to ReplyHorrible brunch!
If you are looking for slow service and burnt food: that’s the place to be! We came here for brunch and what a disappointment that was. We had the Full Gaucho Breakfast plate, which was composed of burnt eggs, burnt bacon, burnt potatoes, burnt tomatoes and extra dry (hard rock) unbuttered bread. Half of the plate was inedible. When we asked for some butter to at least have some of the dry bread, guess what: butter was charged extra. Overall, a horrible experience. Do. Not. Recommend.

The Bad: The Maître d’hôtel aka non smiling hosts told us that there’s no more dining table seats. There’s only bar seats, we didn’t argue or challenge the fact that we saw at least 2 available tables, it sat empty for the whole duration of lunch hour that we spent eating our lunch by the bar. Hence we were judge because mainly of what we look like and how we ate plainly dressed for our corporate jobs unlike the rest of business clients that was sitting at the dining table. Paranoid not really, just stating the obvious. The Good: The food are always good there and the young Gentleman at the bar was incredibly amazing and Lady who help us pay was nice the 3 Star is for the whole experience which is unfortunate. Wish I can upload video of my lunch but there’s no option here

This restaurant came recommended by the Concierge at the Westin Harbour Castle hotel. She had never been to the restaurant but was on her recommendation list and we wanted something different. Lena is part of the Oliver and Bonacini group. It is a distinctly Latin style restaurant. It was a busy place and we were lucky they could seat us at the bar as all the tables had been reserved. Our bartender was also our server and she was delightful. She was just training but she was good at her job. She recommended Sangria for our cocktail and we agreed. It was delicious The menu was a nice mix and we decided to share 4 small plates. two of the dishes...the Yucca Fries and Empanada's were fabulous. The but other two were not so good. The Broken Avocado salad was very oily and lacked flavour. The Chorizo Asado was very disappointing. The Chorizo could not be cut with the dull non-serrated butter knife they provided and the 'melted' cheese was not melted and could not be cut either...I do not like fighting with my food in an attempt to eat it. For the prices we paid, I expected much better. Sadly, I will likely not be returning here. I really liked the vibe and atmosphere but the food was disappointing.

Drink were good. Food ok. The icing on the cake was finding a used condom on the floor by the main floor bar and the manager simply picking it up flippantly with a napkin with no apology. Will NOT be back to this establishment

South American food. Located on the corner of SAKs fifth Avenue store on Richmond Street. Beautiful ambiance and energy: ceilings are very high and centred around the circular bar with music. The white sangria and the oysters were OK but not great. We had a gaucho BBQ ribeye steak for 2 with chimichurri sauce and red wine sauce. It was cut up, served with grilled vegetables. The steak and vegetables were delicious! There was corn, parsnips, carrots, and pavé potatoes. The location was very convenient on Richmond Street and the Bay/Saks. There were two parties going on in the corners of the room. Service was not the best. Got the wrong bill at the end and had to ask for the correct one. We were moved halfway through our meal to a different table as one of the birthday parties that was sitting next to us need more space. Bathrooms and lounge downstairs are nice. It is a place where people come to celebrate as on pricier side. When we passed by at lunchtime, it was also very busy with people eating burgers and fries.

Absolutely fantastic place to visit We were greeted at the door and selected to sit at the bar for our cocktails, we were talking amongst ourselves about the cocktail menu and were unsure of what to have when this lovely friendly gentleman came up to us and asked if we needed any help, he explained all the cocktails in great details, including what sort of glass they came in, we then asked him what he would recommend, we took him up on his recommendations and he went off to get them, the bartender then asked us for our order but we said the guy had taken it and he went, oh the owner! Cocktails arrived and they were delicious, the owner came over again and said if we didn’t like them he could swap them out for us, but there was definitely no need for that! Owner was a really nice guy, bar had a lovely atmosphere, food looked good, would definitely recommend to everyone, we will certainly be back again if we are ever in Toronto again, which is a huge possibility as it’s a fabulous place.

Nice place. Food is ok but expensive. Portions are not so big compared to the price. U can sit on the bar and grab a drink or eat. The service is very good. Location is in DT Toronto.
Be the first to ReplyExcellent service that makes you return soon.
Excellent, friendly service. The food is excellent with a Latin flavor. The food is pipping hot as they bring it to your table. Fast service after placing the order.

Expertly spiced and SO flavourful. Looking forward to going back. And the prices for downtown Toronto were quite reasonable. The place was crowded, even at 2:30 in the afternoon, and the ambient noise at times made hearing a bit difficult, but I can understand why they were so busy. They do have private dining rooms for reservation, though.

had a great romantic dinner, the place was very busy with lively conversation filling the dining room. A very metropolitan downtown spot right on the corner, reservations highly recommended. this operation fits the downtown financial district image very well.

Stopped for a quick pre-show dinner. We were quickly seated (without a reservation). Pisco-laced cocktails were expertly crafted. We ordered several appetizers/small plates and left it to our server and the kitchen staff to deliver our meal in their chosen order. Oysters, sausages, focaccia and salad…..oysters were so good, we ordered more. Excellent food, awesome service without a hitch. Thanks for a great meal.

Be the first to ReplyJamon and Pisco sour paradise in Toronto
This place hasn’t been reviewed in a while and I’m delighted to report it’s survived the pandemic entirely intact.
Mandatory dishes are
- jamon, the best I’ve had outside spain
- shishito peppers, a most amazing combination of flavours and not too spicy
- beef tartare, if you eat raw beef, this is exceptional
- churros, the best I’ve ever had. Full disclosure, I’ve spent a lot of time on Spain and Latin America
Best Pisco sour in North America if that floats your boat.
Quite posh
The service was good. The food was delicious.
The surroundings very interesting. Patrons are all suit types - rarely a casually dressed person!
Great atmosphere, great food !
The service, food, and ambience is impeccable at Lena. The food was very flavorful and was presented in a decorative manner.

We came for brunch today. The space is just gorgeous, integrating the store entrance from the past. So much beauty wherever you look. The food was amazing, and unique from anything else we have had in Toronto to date. We always love a place that can put a unique spin on dishes. Service was impeccable and friendly. Love it!

I love the deco and the atmosphere. It has the old New York vibe. The area I was at has very high ceiling which is great. We tried Winterlicious menu and it is pretty good. Waited for a long time for desserts and for a period of time, there was no server on the floor. The manager explained it was because of Winterlicious rush and kindly didn’t charge the lunch at all.

Another O and B restaurant does not disappoint. It was excellent food and cocktails. I will definitely be back!

Food & service was great. We were there for Winterlicious and will be back .. definitely try their Yucca fries.
Be the first to ReplyNice evening at Lena
My first visit to Lena was with friends who had been before and recommended oysters, ceviche and empanadas. The food was great. Friday’s oysters are a buck a shuck if you order a bottle of wine. Service a little slow but waiter was pleasant and knowledgeable.
