NOT TO BE MISSED IN GREENWICH VILLAGE
The place is perfect, located in the heart of Greenwich Village and we ate very well there, the welcome is friendly, relaxed in a warm and calm setting with a very successful vintage atmosphere. I highly recommend.

I highly recommend this restaurant with excellent quality of food and service. The parmigiana and lava steak are very good. I highly recommend this restaurant with very good quality of food and service. Parmigiana and lava steak are very good

I ordered the well-seasoned Spicy Chicken with salad, guacamole and fries, which were excellent. My dinner partner began with the Beat and Mango Salad appetizer followed by the Veal Milanese with Baby Arugula, Sherry Vinaigrette & Parmesan entree. Unfortunately, the veal was breaded, and my dinner parter has a gluten allergy. When we brought this to the waitresses' attention, she offered to speak to the manager about exchanging the veal for Risotto aux Champignons. The Risotto dish came with Arborio Rice, Cremini & Oyster Mushrooms, Shaved Parmesan & White Truffle Oil. After such a great meal and impeccable service, we were sure to leave an equivalent gratuity.

I was wondering around the West Village looking for a place for lunch. Finally found here. The outdoor seating was delightful. The staff was very attentive. The food was a delight. If youโre looking for a low-key place for lunch this is really recommend it.

I've been going to this wonderful little bistro for 15+ years and the food is always consistently delicious. The staff is helpful and knowledgeable and the atmosphere charming all in one of NYC's prettiest neighborhoods. Also, it is BYOB! The Steak au poivre is excellent and the dacquoise is a perfect way to end a great meal.

Superb two couple French meal with BYOB! French onion soup had wonderful flavor, cheesy & yummy. Escargot was delicious, tender with a tasty butter sauce. My generous portion of perfectly cooked salmon with crispy skin, rosemary herbed mashed potatoes & roasted brussel sprouts was fabulous. Husband and one friend had a very generous portion of mussels in a splendid garlic butter sauce. Another had the spicy chicken with a guacamole topping which was very fresh and flavorful. The French bread was airy, crunchy and was a great accompaniment with the soup and for sopping up the escargot and mussel sauces. The creme brรปlรฉe was so light and creamy and the apple tart dense and filling. Both capped a perfect dinner with friends. Very filling portions, reasonable pricing, great customer service, outside seating, highly recommend. No reservations for this small bistro but wait wasnโt too long. come early, line for seating grew longer as we ate.

Even though the weather has turned cold, we are still looking for restaurants with outdoor seating. On our daughters recommendation, we found Tartine. The food was delicious, the service extremely accommodating, (rather than eating potatoes, we asked for a side salad. They brought us HUGE bowl that had oil in it and I sent it back. The wait staff graciously brought me a different salad with no dressing.) We sat in a cozy heated tent. And best of all, it is BYOB

I first went to Tartine for my birthday, years ago. To be honest, I didnโt remember that much about it. I must have brought some sort of boozy treat I guess. Anyways, flash forward to nowadays. This place is still around; in NYC things come and go like Lindsey Lohan in rehab so the fact that itโs stood the test of times says a lot in and of itself.
The food is top notch! The steaks are great. The spicy chicken is awesome. The tuna appetizer is delicious. The onion tart is...I donโt even know a word thatโs worthy of this dish.
The prices are just as tasty and the fact that you can bring your own bottles makes this place one of NYCโs greatest establishments
Sunday morning strolls through West Village
After checking out the gorgeous homes in The Village, I came upon this tiny wee place - great food and such a reasonably priced menu - which included fresh orange and good strong coffee - I will be back

Cute little place @ the Village. Fast service (we didnโt waited more than 10 minutes for a table). Good was tasty and cheap (compared to other places in NYC). We will be back in the future.
Be the first to ReplyNot worth a special trip to the Village
We rarely get to this part of city, The Village, but this restaurant was recommended to us by friends. It appears that locals know about Tartine as it is off the beaten path for most tourists . Please note that this restaurant accepts cash only. The service is slow. The food was tasty and the portions ample. This is a small space and does not take much to get crowded. There are a few seats outside for couples.
If you can gage how a restaurants feels about its customers by checking out its restrooms- then you should stay away. The bathroom was filthy and were was no toilet paper or paper towels. I am not planning on returning to this place.
