Sad This Restaurant Has Went Downhill So Fast-Terrible
Sadly, everything changes these days. I have went to this restaurant since I was 17 years old. I am 70 years old now. We loved going there. But the last few times, and especially last week it was ruined forever. I can never go back. There was a very nice hostess waitress who has been there for 26 years. But the waitress who brought our food was horrible. She was rude and had a very ugly attitude. When the nice waitress stopped by, I asked her how was it that she was so nice and the other girl was so rude. She just smiled kindly. But the other waitress would not come by, give us drink, bring us ketchup, or give us any service. We had to ask a man who was working at a table. And to my surprise, he was as rude and unkind as the girl. We asked him why we couldn't get any service and he flew off the handle. I told him the waitress was very rude and had an ugly attitude and he flipped on us again. I asked to speak to the owner and he yelled that he was the owner. I was just shocked--I was an owner of a business for 27 years and I couldn't believe an owner would treat someone this way. I told him that we had been coming there since I was 17, but it didn't matter. He continued to embarrass us in front of other customers. I questioned him if he really was the owner, and he yelled, "You don't believe me? Why, because I'm young and white?" I was beyond shocked. I wanted to tell him, "No, it is because you are really rude, and that being white or young had nothing to do with it, but at this point-I simply said, "We are not having this conversation." Others, tried to calm him down, but his anger was off the wall as he tore into my brother and my husband. I never even got to ask him what had happened to their food. I was supposed to get a grilled pork chop. It was not grilled, was fatty, and bland, tough and tasteless. The ground steak, my husband got was horrible and the French fries were cold. We had already decided with the quality of the food being so bad and the prices that had gone up considerably since our last visit, that we probably would not come back. But it is hard to quit going to a place that you loved to go to. But after being treated that way, we can never go back. It is a very sad thing and I think the original owners would be very disappointed to see that their restaurant has turned into this.

This was my first time there… and my last! I had called and ordered two meals for pickup. When I got the meals, I inquired about the salads, as I could tell the bag only had two containers with the meals. (their special ad and also their menu states the meals come with two sides & a salad) First, the young girl feels the bag… then she says you have to (1) ask for it, and (2) there is an up charge. I said the ad says it comes with the meal… then she says (3) that’s for the evening meal, and this was the afternoon. So I took the meals and went to my car, then pulled up their site to double-check. I went back in, quietly and politely, as it is close quarters in there...to let her know how their ad reads, and that on a Saturday or a Sunday, their dinner specials start at 11:30. Again, she says you have to ask for it, and (4) not offering me salads. Then as guy from the kitchen walks out, asked if I needed something. As I start to tell him, he also says if you want a salad, you have to ask for it! Then the girl cashier turns her back to me, elbow on her stand, with chin on hand. The guys ask if I’d like salads… by then I just say no… said I’m sorry I upset you to the girl… turn and walk out! I have never heard of such a thing… they run and ad and post what’s included… but if you want it, you have to ask for it!!! (to top it off, the cordon bleu was ‘terrible’)

We were on a 15-day road trip, only eating at family-owned places. This by far was one of the best. The food was like eating in my grandmother's. the food was amazing as well as the service.

Great place to have some down home country cooking. Restaurants accepted but not needed. Parking is limited. No alcohol on premises. Family friendly, clean, great service.

This restaurant is always very popular with the locals and can get very busy especially on Sunday afternoons when people get out of church. The staff are very nice and friendly and they work their tails off each and everyday to make sure everyone had a great experience and make sure they get what they ordered. This place isn't a fancy restaurant so don't go expecting a lot, but the good thing is it's a cheap meal. The food sometimes can be hit or miss. I come here often with my parents or friends. Most of the time the food is good, but on occasion the same meal you get may not be as good as it was the last several times, it's been like that the most since the pandemic though. The deserts that never disappoint are the Apple Dumpling which is massive by the way and their Gram Cracker Pie is delicious! That's the only deserts I've had, but I'm sure the rest is very good as well.

My husband and I love to try off the beaten path, privately owned restaurants. Lindy's was a great find! We got the last parking space in the lot and knew it was a good sign. Lindy's is the place to go for comfort food, overflowing plates, and good service. My husband had the seafood platter that came with a salad/ homemade french dressing, mac & cheese and coleslaw. I had liver and onions that could possibly be the best I ever had! Next visit we will try the hot roast beef sandwich! If you are traveling through Cumberland, MD you should stop and give Lindy's a try!

The food was subpar. Not a fan of their menu items. Though we did have decent ribs there, when they had a special. The people are nice and the service was good. Decided to try a slice of pie and it seemed like it had been sitting around for quite a while, was not fresh.

Mother's Day dinner with my folks. First visit for me as I live in Virginia. Big plate of roasted turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes and applesauce for me. Folks had ham dinner with raisin sauce and hot roast beef sandwich, both with sides and salad. Everything was delicious. Home cooking at it's finest! Friendly and attentive staff. And price? Can you believe $34.00? For all of us! Won't find this where I live. Great job Lindy's, I'll be back when I return. Thank You!
