Made a 2:30pm reservation on a Saturday and honestly I don't recommend coming at this time. I'm not sure why they offer this time slot if they're just going to rush you out. I overall had a great experience and food was delicious! Until... the end when we encountered a very rude waiter right as we were getting the check. He didn't even give us a full minute to sign when he returned for it. He grabbed the check and when we told him we weren't ready yet he tosses the pen back and storms off... I mean.... aside from that, food was 4/5. We ordered the lunch prefix for 65$ which comes with 2 items you can select from the menu, a dessert, and a cocktail. My favorite was the wagyu with eggs and the pork katsu. Love the vibes here with the open kitchen and the lovely plants hanging around. Great place for bunch if you love to try new and unique combination of flavors.
Be the first to ReplyAmazing food and the best cocktails too.
I loved my Japanese old fashioned with a "popcorn" butter wash.
Be the first to ReplyHad dinner on a Saturday.
Usually not the biggest fan of fusion so was minding my expectations but ended up being a tasteful experience. Enjoyed the dishes from the Tonkatsu to the swordfish. Wine pour was a touch light but can look past that. Service was good and overall ambiance was nice (again this was for dinner). The waiter mentioned they may be opening other locations too and I'd be curious to try them as well.
Be the first to ReplyThe service at this restaurant was absolutely terrible.
Despite being slightly late to our 5:30 reservation, I apologized, but the server taking our order had an unpleasant attitude. He insisted we leave before 7:30, though we assured him we'd finish in time. While trying to take our order, he spoke rapidly and in a condescending tone, which was extremely unprofessional. Despite ordering 4-5 substantial dishes between 2 people, he emphasized how little food we had chosen, disregarding that not everyone has a big appetite. His unpleasant facial expressions and rushed demeanor made the dining experience extremely unpleasant during our celebratory meal. Although we left before 7, half the restaurant was already empty, making the rush unnecessary. The overall service was extremely unprofessional, overshadowing the okay food. I do not recommend this place if you expect to be treated with decency. Despite a positive interaction with the server who cleaned our table at the end, the overall dining experience was still subpar. We chose to leave a good tip, acknowledging the other server's efforts, but it couldn't overshadow the shortcomings of the entire experience. Upon reading some other reviews, I found that my experience aligns with numerous other negative reviews emphasizing poor service. Think twice before coming here, you're making a gamble depending on the server you get. Service: 0/10 Food: 3/10

Peruvian Nikkei that leans more toward the Japanese end of the spectrum. Proteins are always perfectly cooked and there is a lovely full selection of ceviche/crudo options to fit your desired taste. It's cute and cozy with an open kitchen and the food is just beautiful! The mini lobster crispy rice was so on point with the caviar topping! Wish I took photos of everything we ate! Service is fantastic - waiter described everything perfectly!

Mediocre food and service for $175/person The ambiance & plating are nice, but the waiter was pretentious. We all 5 had the 4 course prix fixe dinner and it took almost 3 hours for 4 courses. The deserts were very good, but the other dishes were often warm-ish as if they had been left waiting too long. The wagyu beef was cold by the time it was served.
Be the first to ReplyWe ordered the 4 course dinner.
Nothing memorable except the tonkatsu (the pork itself, not the udon, which is too soft). Most dishes have a sour or spicy taste. Services were slow. There was a long gap between dishes and they served me the wrong entree so we had to wait extra time.
Be the first to ReplyGood place for brunch.
It is a little hard to find the entrance but everyone was very welcoming as soon as I stepped in. I ordered three plates to share with another person and enjoyed the meal. We got the Ceviche, the eggs Benedict and the wagyu shortrib. Flank Ceviche $26 (4/5) The Ceviche was fresh and refreshing. It was a decent portion to start the meal. Poached eggs huacatay hollandaise, avocado smoked salmon $24 (3.5/5) The eggs benedict were fine, but it was definitely a lot more Peruvian than Japanese. It wasn't anything special except for the charred avocado, which was a nice touch. Wagyu Steak & Eggs $36 (4.5/5) I enjoyed this . Again, this wasn't Japanese except for the wagyu part of it but the meat was tender and flavorful, and the potatoes were crispy. Nothing special but it was well presented.

The food is great! For a Peruvian restaurant the portions are small and pricey the ambiance is nice and cozy.
Be the first to ReplySeriously exceeded my expectations.
..wow. I was a little nervous when I picked Lasan for my boyfriend's birthday dinner because I've heard some mixed reviews. Everything we ate was phenomenal. We both did the four course prefix. It was pricey but it was delicious. The scallops were delicious the fluke and razor can't clam ceviche was so fresh. The Wagyu carpaccio had such an interesting texture and flavor complex. The veal breast toast was a surprising favorite for the both of us. The rock shrimp and Uni risotto dish was a super interesting fusion dish, and the pork and udon dish was hands-down some of the best udon I've ever had . Our server provided us with some really great recommendations, and the ambience was phenomenal. For being on such a main road in the west Village it had an intimate and cool vibe..

There was no restaurant name sign outside so I was lost for a bit. Inside the place looked earthy and rusty. Since it's was in west village, it was kinda small. We loved all the dishes we tried:- Steelhead trout, kohlrabi, pomegranate, fingerline: this dish was refreshing and had good balance of sourness and sweetness. The fish was fresh and yummy.- Wagyu tartare, crispy sausage, rice cracker: the tartare was yummy but salty on its own. Having the tartare with the rice cracker was a great combination. - Chicken thigh maki, aji amarillo walnuts, alfonzo olives: i forgot it was maki, until I realized how much rice wrapping the chicken. It was a lot of rice and you would be full. The chicken thigh was tender and I loved the sauce so much, creamy and rich. The olives was a good side dish to balance out the creamy heavy maki.- Iberico pork tonkatsu, tsukemono cucumbers, and rice: everyone raved about this tonkatsu, and I totally agreed. It was crispy outside and juicy inside. The rice was seasoned nicely. And the cucumbers also gave a good crunch. Overall, I loved the food here, but they were on a pricier side. I would still recommend to give this spot a try!

Came here for a birthday date as I heard good recommendations! Service is amazing, interior is romantically lit and great for a date. Food is very unique because they use ingredients and combinations you don't normally come across like Kohlrabi + pomegranate etc. Personally it's not my usual style of food and I'm not a big fan of fine dining so I wouldn't come back but other than the $$$ price tag this place is good!
Be the first to ReplyDON'T GO!!! I got really serious food poison from there.
They use heavy sauce to cover the bad meat. It's just horrible! I went to toilet for over 20 times the next day. Not worth it AT ALL. Absolutely did not expect this from such an expansive price. Shame on them! I don't understand how can they still be in the business.
Be the first to ReplyFabulous all around.
Don't think I had a single bite I didn't adore. My favorite was the Scallop Ceviche-- the wagyu was probably my least favorite, but still good. Menu items do change regularly, so don't expect the pics online to perfectly match your experience. If you're having trouble entering, the door is a small and casual door which almost appears to be to an apartment building. Staff are friendly and very attentive. Highly recommend this excellent blend of cultures.

We came to Llama San for a date night and really enjoyed the restaurant. The service is excellent. The ambiance is understated for the caliber of the food served. The menu is an attempt to combine Peruvian and Japanese cuisines. This is most successful in two areas: the cocktail list and the ceviches. I had a Japanese whiskey-based cocktail with caramel and miso flavors that was honestly one of the best cocktails I've ever tasted! The ceviches are also all very innovative. We had the scallop and the tuna and they were both really unique and flavorful. The rest of the menu is still very good, but it can't compare to the cocktails and the ceviches! We enjoyed the tartare and the pork entree, which others have commented on here.Bottom line: worth the money to go once, but I am not planning to be a regular here!

I was really excited to try Llama San due to all the good reviews. The Japanese-Peruvian fusion intrigued me but it fell short of my expectations. I made reservations for 4 for a Friday girls night and the place was packed. It gives speakeasy vibes as it doesn't even have its name anywhere (unless I'm blind and couldn't find it). Cocktails were pretty standard from what I remembered. I liked the milk punch one the most! The service was also kind of slow. We ordered the scallop ceviche, brussel sprouts, tuna tartare, iberico pork tonkatsu udon and the octopus and crabmeat rice. The scallops were fresh and my only wish is that it came with more. I enjoyed the tuna tartare as well. The iberico pork tonkatsu udon is one of Llama San's most popular dishes but I really didn't think it meshed well together. The verde sauce with the udon and tonkatsu each tasted better on its own. The star of the night had to be the octopus and crabmeat rice. It was so good we ordered one more. Great for sharing as well. I would come back just for this but overall, I didn't think Llama San was worth its pricetag.

Pricey but worth it! The standouts were the scallop and trout ceviches, the sweet potatoes, and the wagyu tartare! The Iberico pork was too rich for me. The pisco sour didn't disappoint either!

I recently dined at Llama San and was blown away by the exceptional food and atmosphere. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with warm hospitality and a sleek and modern interior that immediately set the tone for a memorable dining experience. One of the standout dishes I had was the aged duck breast nigiri. The flavors were perfectly balanced and the tenderness of the duck was unparalleled. Each bite was a taste sensation, and I found myself savoring every last bite. The iberico pork udon verde was another standout dish. The broth was rich and flavorful, with a perfect balance of savory and acidic notes. The iberico pork was tender and juicy, and the udon noodles were cooked to perfection. It was a truly indulgent dish that I would highly recommend. The staff were knowledgeable and attentive, offering expert recommendations and ensuring that every aspect of my dining experience was top-notch. I appreciated the care and attention that went into every detail, from the beautifully presented dishes to the warm and welcoming atmosphere.Overall, I would highly recommend Llama San to anyone looking for a truly exceptional dining experience. From the delicious food to the warm and inviting atmosphere, this restaurant deserves a five-star rating. I cannot wait to return and try more of their offerings.

The scallop ceviche was amongst the best dishes I've had in a really long time. I wish I could eat it all day every day, it's that good. The rest of the food was also sublime. 10/10 recommend

i would like to start this review by saying how great our meal was. each and every one of those dishes had amazing taste, texture and appearance. also the service was outstanding. to give you an example, my wife ordered a drink that she was not so excited about but willing to drink it and continue ordering a different one later. but our server insisted on simply exchanging her drink for another drink that the bartender could create more to her tasting even though we said he didn't need to do that. but the server insisted and we were so appreciative and so impressed by the level of service that we rarely see at other restaurants. the attention to detail in all aspects of this restaurant deserve more than 5 stars. it made our anniversary/birthday meal so special and we'll definitely return. keep up the great work guys and my wife and i can't wait to try your new location in Madrid this summer.

I have to say for how much hype this place has, it simply does not live up to expectations. The prices are insanely high for the quantity of food you are getting. The flavors are heavier (aside from the Ceviches) than other Peruvian restaurants I have frequented. The cocktails are inventive and tasting so I definitely give them a nod for that. What stands out is easily the service! Our server was incredibly knowledgeable about every aspect of the menu and gave us all he could to make the experience shine. The food vs. price just didn't do it for me.

The food portions are mostly tiny tapas tho exquisite, but our waitress was like the Gestapo - the demeanor of a drill sergeant reciting descriptions and ingredients from a well rehearsed monologue - no room for questions or deviations from her script! For a party of 4 who split 8 plates and each had a cocktail the bill was close to $500!! And we were still hungry afterward!!! I'd say a hard pass unless you want to feel dominated AND robbed in the same evening.
