An Absolute ‘Mochery’
I took my daughter to this restaurant for lunch as part of her birthday present. What a mistake! We phoned well in advance as we are vegan and gluten-free/garlic free, to make sure that they could cater for us. When we arrived they said that they could not adapt any dishes as the chef would not oblige, - therefore there was literally nothing that we could eat, despite being told that they could definitely cater for our requirements. I was really very annoyed that they had spoiled my daughter’s day just because they didn’t want to upset the chef!! The dish that we had was really dreadful, and the portions were laughable, - small was not the word! My daughter ordered a “main course”, which was two TINY pancake things, - and were told that they were for “sharing!!!”. They werent nearly enough for a mouthful for one, let alone two! When we complained we were told that it was ‘tapas style’ ! Where was this written to inform us that we were having tapas?? Certainly not on the menu, as if we had known we would have given this place a very wide berth! The only thing that I could have was a salad, and I didn’t want that as it was a cold day and the restaurant was really draughty and chilly. Again, they wouldn’t adapt a dish to suit my requirements as it would “upset the chef!!” What sort of nonsense does this place think they can get away with? The prices were totally extortionate - absolute robbery- (for the minute portion of almost nothing that we had- a couple of chicory leaves, a few apple gratings and a dressing it was £19!!) Upon leaving, as they were anxious to close (4pm), the manager followed us out and started talking, asking us if we enjoyed our visit… I told him I was disgusted- and he said that he wouldn’t eat at the restaurant either! Forgot to add that our waitress said she thought the food/portions were terrible! After trekking across London from East to West, we were starving as we had had virtually nothing to eat! Thank heavens we spotted a McDonalds on the main road and headed there for a plant burger, which was warm, satisfying and tasty - far more than could be said of Mochis!! Never again! Steer clear of this pseudo-fine-dining dive, its total rubbish.
Be the first to ReplySecond time here and disappointed.
The food is sensational but the problem is it’s too popular! Over crowded. Very noisy .I had been raving about this place since I came in October so I brought my children across town for dinner. After ordering we had to wait nearly an Hour for food to start arriving. I complained to the manager and things improved. I shouldn’t have to that. But let me finish by saying again that the food is great!
Be the first to ReplyComplete joke! Don’t go to the restaurant hungry or with allergies!
Was taken to this establishment for my birthday- called in advance to check could cater for my allergies and told no problem. On arrival I was helped by a delightful lady called Alexandra, who was trying so hard to help me and was suggesting all the things that could be made allergen free for me. All of a sudden, Jason the assistant manager came over to my table and said that I had to have what would please the chef, and that nothing could be changed on the dish due to my allergies- I have what the chef wants or nothing. This was in such contrast to lovely Alexandra who was trying so hard to help. I reluctantly agreed as was very hungry and needed to eat/didn’t want to create a fuss. I was shocked. My tacos arrived… my main course dish… 2 tiny tacos and that was it!!! Was this a mistake and a starter? I wasn’t allowed to order a starter and this supposed main course dish was also ‘to share’- so Jason told me! That main course was £15!!! (Photo attached- photo makes it look 3x bigger than it was) So here I am, sitting in this restaurant, very hungry having eaten my ‘sharing dish’ that I have been informed by Jason is ‘tapas style’. Nowhere on the menu or website does it state this. When you ask for a main course and are informed it is a sharing dish, you expect to have a substantial meal, certainly not an overpriced minute 2 bite mouthful of food! Shocking and definitely won’t come back. Thank you to Alexandra for your help and kindness, but as for the management, you could learn a thing or two from her! Totally disgusted.
Be the first to ReplyFaultless and delicious!
We, a family of 4 adults, just enjoyed a really excellent lunch at Los Mochis! The service and attention to our visit was top drawer! The manager (maybe, I don't know his position) made sure we were really well looked after. Coats taken and returned at the end. We had our two small dogs with us who were welcomed and presented no problems, in fact the staff showed us tables upstairs and down to see what would work best. The food was absolutely delicious! It's not cheap but you don't mind so much when it's really good quality. My daughter and I need gluten free and what a joy to relax and know we can enjoy anything on the menu without worrying! Finally I mentioned on the phone that it was my daughter's birthday and without any further comment at the end of our meal a lovely big slab of delicious cheesecake came with a lit candle on top! I'm so glad we ignored some negative reviews on here, I'm quite sure everyone there was enjoying it as much as us! Definitely visit again!
Be the first to ReplyDisappointing
Stopped by for a drink earlier this week. We sat at the bar and when we tried to ask the male bartender a few things about their tequilas and drinks, he didn't seem to know how to answer despite having a large tequila selection. The staff were quite loud and appeared disorganized, which was hard to ignore as we were one of the few peoppe at the bar. I had visited before, but didn't recognize any of the faces this time. which was disappointing. Won't be returning anytime soon.
Be the first to ReplyNice mexican breakfast with a twist
A very nice restaurant, with some nice breakfast dishes. Nice flavours and kombinations. Would love to try to eat here for dinner as well. Only thing is the poached eggs were overcooked on all our dishes, and the service could be better
Be the first to ReplyTasty dishes and will be returning!
Confused why the reviews have gone downhill when myself and my mum had a great time! Food was delicious and you pay for fresh quality! First time visiting the restaurant but we’ll definitely go back. Notting Hill is expensive for food in general, so I don’t think this pricing is out of place.
Be the first to ReplyNot worth a visit
Sunday family lunch turned a real disaster. Tiny tables, tiny portions and extremely (!) slow kitchen. It took an hour to prepare tacos. Why opening a restaurant if people leave unhappy and hungry?!?!
Be the first to ReplyWhat a disappointment
Atmosphere: - too little personal space, - too loud music - too much effort for cleaning… in front of eating customers… Service: - too slow, more than an hour for tacos… seriously - too un personal - too unwelcoming Prices : - clearly too high for above experience Sadly, kissed a frog when we’re looking for a princess
