LPM Restaurant & Bar London Reviews
Great place
I should say that my expectations were a bit wrong, i thought is a very tight behaviour, is more like a family restaurant, tasty food, friendly staff!!! Loved the food, loved the atmosphere!
Be sure to check price before you ordered
Food was actually great! Must order their tomato crab tart and grilled veal chop But the sommelier recommended us the MOST EXPENSIVE wine on the menu (£200 per glass!!) and it has ruined the entire experience. I felt they’re just trying to rip off customers!
Worst experience
One of the worst dining experiences in London. Like most restaurants in the city, it’s an overstated and over expensive restaurant for what it is. We had a dinner reservation at 6 PM, we were at the restaurant at 5.45 PM while the staff were making preparations for the evening. Asked if we could sit outside for 15 mins while they were preparing inside dining space but we were told to come back at 6. The staff isn’t knowledgable and rude. They don’t put an effort to be kind or put customer at the forefont of things. They’re def not trained properly. Clams in our pasta were not even cleaned properly and we ended up biting hard shells. The whole restaurant needs a management shift because the whole experience is a disgrace to the hospitality sector. To sum up, never going there again.
Thank you Faith!
The whole experience was out of this world. We met up with friends for lunch. The service was top class, staff very friendly and attentive , food so flavoursome … and to top it all when my partner left his bag on the chair after we had left Faith ran after us down the nearby street to find us!! 100 percent loved it and would definitely recommend and return.
Mice in LPM london!
We are regulars at LPM London and Dubai and we were shocked to see mice Saturday night in the restaurant!!! We expected to receive an apology from the manager but instead the waitors were bringing the card machines for payments!!! They acted as if it was normal but we have never seen mice in any restourant anywhere before. We will never go to LPM again!!
A most delightful culinary experience
It’s a warm, charming and intimate restaurant. The service is very professional and the food exquisite. Most pleasurable place.
Things Have Changed
This place used to be great. Now it caters to a rather specific crowd... um, think Gucci track suits and yellow Lamborghinis. Avoid.
Cooked to perfection, Friendly Waiter
All I can say is banging. Staff was cool, our waiter was brill, food as always 10/10. Can’t say anything more that I defo recommend LPM. The food is always on the same level worldwide, either Limassol, Dubai, Abu Dhabi etc… It’s great… I would also like to mention and thank the LPM Staff for their hospitality and for catering to the requests for the birthday guest… Always worth a visit.
Not the same as it used to be
From the moment we entered the restaurant,we knew this was not as it used to be. The girls on the front desk are not sharp. Very unprofessional and poorly trained. They were very polite and nice but didn’t have a clue about seating customers or understanding their reservation book. The waiting staff were pleasant but the waiter serving drinks was extremely pushy and over familiar border line rude. The food was ok. None of us would ever return. The prices do not reflect the service and the food is way overpriced. The staff need far more training. When Raphael and Massimo were on board everything was a completely different level.
LPM best food in London.
LPM best food in London, Ambience was amazing, with thoroughly enjoyed the evening, And amazing service . Thank you For, amazing experience. Friends ordered lamb chops, yellowtail, BURRATA cherry tomatoes, green, lentil salad. Pommes Frites, Broccoli and gratin.
LPM is just OK - not a top choice in London
Good was just OK (odd recipes) and service was not at the level expected for a £300+ meal for two. Seems like no one is overseeing what’s become of this place
LOVE LPM London
The Restaurant LPM is absolutely fantastic from the food to the service amazing. Visited the sister LPM in Abu Dhabi equally delightfull
Excellent dinner
Amazing dinner at LPM, everything from the service to the food itself was sublime. I was apprehensive due to the masses of reviews about bad service, however they were completely disproven last night. The waitress came round with a basket of warm bread, delicious with the tomato infused olive oil, and then we proceeded to the bar to view the presentation of the Trinity cocktail which we’d ordered (a fun addition to the experience). Their signature Tomatini cocktail was also delicious. Then came the warm prawns, yellowtail carpaccio, baby chicken, tomato gnocchi, and broccolini- everything we ate was perfectly cooked and tasted wonderful, the baby chicken was especially good. The service was extremely attentive, as soon as our water glasses were empty they’d be refilled almost immediately and the bread basket came round another few times. Dessert was the apple tart, again a delicious dish (I loved the vanilla ice cream it came with). The washroom was also immaculate, the Aesop toiletries were a nice touch also. Overall one of the best meals I’ve had in a Mayfair restaurant, certainly not one to miss and definitely not style over substance. Would highly recommend LPM, thank you to all the staff for a wonderful evening
Be kind
Tell to the staff specially to Lui be kind to the customers. Thanks. He ruined our dinner night!!!!!
Don't be fooled by the location
Attitude sucks as much as the food. Wanted to sit indoors but nothing was available. Ok, sat outside. Noticed a young woman arrive, look around, appearing to decide whether to eat there or not. She goes in and immediately thereafter, shown to a table outside. After a few minutes negotiating with staff, back she went and they seated her indoors. You win some you lose some. We lost. Not terrible outside. Except the waiter - superior attitude and when all we ordered was two glasses of wine and two starter salads he was clearly unimpressed having to waste his time with us. Upsized the salads to an entrée size without asking, which incidentally were awful - simple Nicoise salad - hard to screw up. They did this successfully. Not sure what they did with the tuna which was gray in color and tasted pickled. There are so many better places!
Hidden in the side streets
We happened to see this restaurant walking through London. We decided to give it a try. The food was delicious, the service was excellent, really worth the price.
The service was wonderful, and the food was great.
Hamid was wonderful with my daughter and made her feel like a special guest. The maitre de was also wonderful with our daughter and asked if she wanted something to color with. I had noted we would have a child with us, so they placed us in the "quieter" room, which I think was a good call. We felt very welcome. All the food we ordered were delicious. I would definitely go back. While the food was great, it was the service that would make me want to go back.
Disappointed, bad service
Very bad and disappointing service, served the starters in a random order by bringing everything separately and forgot to serve the mains, when asked again they said that they forgot about it and it’s too late for them to get the order in the kitchen. We ended up having no main dishes but only sides when other people were still getting their food. This is just unacceptable from such a restaurant as we always expect the best from them, it is the second time in a row that a problem with service occurred and the only gesture made was to remove the service charge which I refused to pay in the first place. The food is known for being excellent but as long as they forget half of the order there is no point of returning. If anyone from the LPM team is reading this, you should focus again on improving your service and staff manners as this is not what we sign for.
Good but not Excellent
The meet and greet staff were very friendly and professional and lead us to a lovely table at the back of the restaurant. I am glad that we did not sit by the door, because the street outside was full of people, smoking cigarettes and cigars and generally making lots of noise. The tables are very very close together and I did think that it would be impossible to get a wheelchair through the restaurant. My friends had the escargots and apparently they were average, not garlicky enough. My salad niçoise was utterly delicious and better than the one they serve in Nice in the south of France. It took them a while to bring the marinated peppers and eventually, after a couple of reminders, they arrived and were simply divine! The Dover sole was lovely, the sea bream even better and if that’s not enough, the star of the show was the potato dauphinois. Heaven on a plate! Now the not so good part of the review…. I am not a fan of the food arriving when it’s ready, which meant that one of my party had to wait for their course and as the others were finished theirs, the remaining dish arrived and she had to eat alone. It also made the whole meal time a lot longer and the evening later. The bathrooms. Awful The middle one had no toilet paper at all at 6:30 pm and the door was difficult to lock. The flush was terrible. Work it out for yourself. Not nice. Back to the good bits again as I want to finish this review on a positive note. We loved the food and would definitely return and hope that the same staff are there again. They were brilliant especially the lovely Romanian lady who marvelled at my attempt to try speaking in her mother tongue! Un grande merci to all at LPM (its mystery that you don’t call it La Petite Maison!)
Avoid
Reservation made at the end of May for our visit 9th July. Heat & humidity in London was close to unbearable this weekend. Dress code - smart casual. My partner and I arrived to be told we couldn’t be admitted due to my partner wearing chino polo shorts, we were told ‘we have a strict dress code’. We were told if terrace seating was available we could sit outside (presumably so not to cause offence), however, due to staffing issues, no outdoor seating available. I asked if this strict dress code applied to baseball caps, to which I was told ‘most definitely’. I kindly pointed to a gentleman sat dining in a baseball cap!!! They obviously pick and chose who to allow in and who to refuse entry. Discrimination at its finest!
Confusing yet educational.
Our 13th-to-16th Aperol spritzes felt lighter than the previous ones. As we obviously asked for an Aperol top-up, we were disconcerted with the double charge we found on the final bill. Lesson learnt: the marginal utility of Aperol spritzes declines after the 12th. The place also also charges a 15% service charge. Inflation is not transitory, but if we had felt the need to pay this level of tips we would have taken a flight to NY. Food is ok, but for better bottle service would recommend Il Borro.
Good food, customer relations could be improved.
Came here with my boss and his wife (from NY). They arrived late and we knew we only had the table until 20:30 but we ordered quickly and the food was very good when it came. We decided to share and the starters were lovely, especially the artichoke - a revelation as I would never have chosen this!! Main courses were also very good, the Sea Bream and the Turbot standing out. Only problem came when we tried tio order another botte of wine and were told we couldn't have it as we wouldn't drink it in time- we had 20 minutes left! One bottle of wine would be four glasses and that would have been no problem. The Maitre'D was unecessarily rude, and loud, about the whole situation. Ultimately they actually let us keep the table for the rest of the night!! We sat there for another 90 minutes eating and drinking and had a lovely evening but the 'little episode' could have been handled a little better!
Avoid at all cost
I booked the restaurant for an important client meeting which we needed to reschedule because of the recent snow and travel challenges. When my colleague called to make the change the restaurant informed her they would be charging £100 anyway and promptly took the payment from our card. The worst bit was when the lady on the other end of the phone laughed at my colleague when she asked if she could withdraw the payment as we were keen to rebook - so rude. I have since emailed and asked to speak to the manager and chased them up because I haven't heard a thing. The most shocking customer service which is clear from the comments below. Daylight robbery and rude - the place will go under soon enough.
Having been a patron here for the last 10 years, always on
Having been a patron here for the last 10 years, always on our anniversary (except for Covid and renovation), we were excited about our reservation for last week. Upon arriving, we learned that we clicked the wrong box when making a reservation: We picked the Riviera Room; not main dining room. No description for either on booking site. The Riviera room was very loud (hip-hop music) and next to a crowded bar, artwork was very urban including a naked woman, a bit offensive for us. Management wouldn't accommodate our request to move. So much for our usual romantic dinner. At least we were looking forward to an outstanding meal. This wasn't the case either: my go to favorite dover sole was thin and over-cooked and still had bones. My wife's small serving of pasta with clams and shrimp was watery and lacking any real flavor. Our potatoes gratin and green beans sides though were as good as before. Service though was excellent except that the sommelier (not the waiter) had to be hunted down each time to fill our wine glasses. I'm guessing that management decided that the renovation and rebranding to LPM over the former La Petite Maison was to cater to a different crowd. We will miss the former warm, cozy, quiet, romantic French bistro of years past and will not be returning, especially at this price.

Good food but super disappointing on service.
Were rude and reminded us on at least 7 separate occasions that they needed the table back at a certain time. Even told us it was getting late and we need to order mains now, felt like I was being scolded not out to an upscale restaurant. Last straw was being told we may not be able to order dessert with 20 minutes to go before they needed our table back. Hugely different to the Dubai property. Will not be going back.
Excellent Service
Had my birthday dinner at La Petit Maison with my family. Hameed took great care of us. The food was delicious, great ambience and excellent service. Thank you for making my day memorable.
Benefit of the doubt
Have been to the Dubai variant several times but never The London branch. Since I live in London I took a client there who raves about it. I can see why but not a lot to rave about this day. Nice busy bustling full restaurant. Good atmosphere. Big menu with lots of choice. Not silly prices for Mayfair. Food quality was excellent. Unfortunately the service throughout, despite being very friendly was very very clumsy. Example. My starter came but not my friends. We ordered a secondi to share and her starter came at the same time as that. Then the main courses came just as we started that which resulted in a table full of food. Just a very scruffy visit. Will try it again though as I see that with service on point it has a 5* potential.
A disgusting shambles
LPM has been one of our regular London restaurants for many, many years. Unfortunately since the departure of the last Manager, this establishment has gone downhill. The reception staff are obnoxious and rude and the table staff are all new and inexperienced. Food has become average, with all our fish dishes being over cooked, and some even cold. It’s such a shame to see such a special restaurant go downhill because of bad management. Hopefully someone who actually has an interest in this company will actually take note of all the latest reviews and do something about it.
What a shame
Id give no stars. This restaurant was one of my favorite restaurants. I had been going fot many years. After the lockdown they've appointed a new disgusting manager. I recommend they get training again and learn manners from the Dubai branch
Generally disappointing
Experience was disappointing. Service started strong but withered and very slow to clear the table. Turbot overcooked and served in a dish that was small and difficult to eat out of. Drinks were ok but nothing special.
Mean manager
As always had great food at LPM tonight but I was astonished at the manager who was sickly rude to a client. It made us so uncomfortable to have witnessed such an appalling attitude. People with confidence issues shouldn’t be made managers.
rude staff
Receptionist was so rude and unapologetic for a table he made us wait forever for, they only serve people who give them backhanders in a special way. This level is so low!
