Cool place to stay in Bodrum
What an amazing place. Lovely property, amazing beach club and restaurant, Beautiful rooms with great decor. Very secluded location. Beautiful grounds. Restaurant offers variety of delicious specialties . Cool vibe and the beach club area.
Be the first to ReplyVery disappointing
This must be one of the worst hotels we have ever stayed at. We booked a seaview villa for 2600 euros a night, to find more like a suite with a seaview overlooking the parking…. Dreadful noise until 1.30a.m from neighbouring clubs, impossible to sleep! a rather horrible « beach » where you are stuck one next to the other…once you arrive the staff informs you that all beds are booked so you have to be unpleasant to actually get a sunbed. We went to the restaurant in the evening at 21h our food arrived at almost 23h. Most importantly if you are a family with kids - forget it! the pool is tiny with no sunbeds and the beach is, like I mentioned before far from fantastic. Expensive, service not great, very very disappointed.
Be the first to ReplyDO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS HOTEL
o not stay here if you want a nice room or if you want sleep. While they pretend to be a 5 star hotel, it is a farce. The rooms are old and mediocre, at best. More importantly, there is so much noise from the nearby clubs, and the windows are so cheap, that you cannot sleep until 130 am when the clubs shut down. When we complained about the noise and the inability to sleep, the hotel offered to move us from the SEA VIEW room we paid 1200 Euro for to a room with the view of a wall! Nowhere on their website do they warn you of the incessant loud banging of the music and the inability to sleep on your vacation. And of course, they were not willing to the discount the room charge. Their ridiculous response was that it is summer, there is music, and we can't do anything about it. Do yourself a favor, stay at Mandarin Oriental or Edition.
Be the first to ReplyMacakizi Bodrum is the best in Europre
Right now we are towards the end of a 3 month Europe trip staying at only high end hotels and resorts. So far we have been all over Italy, Greece, France, Croatia, Spain/Ibiza and London. Truthfully I read the negative reviews here and was very worried about coming here. 2 days in and I can tell you all the comments made are completely untrue. The staff are all absolutely amazing, kind and friendly and all go out of their way to make you happy. The sunbed area.... Firstly all of the rows are are outstanding, they are very comfortable with judge pillows and very white clean towels. The view out to the sea and islands is pure paradise. If your a hotel guest you will be able to reserve a bed in any row, the reception assured us that they reserve the best beds for their hotel guest which was true for us. When we arrived to the beach we were greeted by with a very warm welcome by a friendly and easy going host. She asked if we were hotel guest then asked us our bed preference, we asked for front row and that's what we got. She also reserved our beds for our entire 5 day stay. This means you don't have to rush your breakfast and morning coffee to get a bed like in every over resort.. wow and thanks Macakizi your beach experience is the best I've ever had. The pool bar is also by far the best I've seen in Europe. It's classy and full of summer energy and really brings out the holiday atmosphere and unlike most places (not to name any) their aim is for you to relax and enjoy yourself not to profit on bar sales as much as they can. Other places we stayed at if you wanted a good spot like on the beach deck or front row you are told you have to spend a minimum 250 euro a day on drinks at the bar. Maybe at places like Nobu Ibiza with their 10 euro still water and 16 euro beer it's possible but doing this in Macakizi you will be blind drunk as their prices are very cheap in comparison to other places. The rooms described in the negative post are also untrue. The rooms are big, tidy and have a beach theme to them. The bathrooms are large and completely separated from the room, they have a fixed good sized shower, a separate bathtub and a good sized vanity. The sea view we have is total class. Breakfast and Dinner are of high quality, better than Frances famous Michelle star restaurants at a fifth of their prices. If you are looking for a place that has everything then this is your place to visit. You can relax in a magnificent location and have a better party than what Ibiza can give you. In IMHO Ibiza can learn a lot from Macakizi. Thanks Macakizi for the amazing experience. Milan and Zlata
Be the first to ReplyBodrum the best
Amazing hotel in the best city in the world! I’ve been to many of the European beach cities and very few compare to Bodrum and Macakizi. The hotel has such a charm about it. It feels like chateau marmont in Bodrum with a view! The staff is kind and wonderful. The beach club has a spectacular vibe to it and the restaurant is a must go. Bottom line- come to Bodrum and stay at Macakizi!
Be the first to Replyan amazing hotel with an incredible location and staff
this is one of the best and most authentic of the high - end resorts in Bodrum. this hotel has many luxury suites with amazing views of the water. walk to the waterfront and you will find decks of beautiful beach chairs waiting for you. eat and drink from your chairs and enjoy the view and a quick swim. get a little bored walk to the cove (100 meters from property) and walk the boardwalk that is filled with shops, bars, restaurants and even smaller less expensive local hotels. stop by for a drink or food at any of the places for a break from fairly secluded Macakizi. the hotel is absolutely stunning and the staff could not be nicer. well worth the price to stay. i will be back.
Be the first to ReplyDo NOT stay at this hotel
Avoid staying at this hotel at all costs. My husband had his suit jacket stolen by a member of staff at a wedding taking place at this hotel. They assured that the jacket would be found and if not, a suitable gesture would be made to compensate for the missing jacket. Since then, no attempt has been made by the hotel to get in touch with us to find a suitable solution. We have each called on several occasions and told that someone will get back to us but no one ever has. To make matters worse, the room was paid for at the time of booking through booking.com, yet upon arrival the hotel requested a credit card (which I assumed was for a holding deposit for any extras to the room) but instead they went ahead and charged the same again for the room, in error. They admitted their mistake straight away and assured it would be refunded immediately, but a month later and it has STILL not been refunded. After multiple attempts at chasing them for the refund and for an update on the jacket, I am still yet to hear back from them. This was over a month ago now. All in all, absolutely avoid this hotel at all costs. You are better off staying anywhere else but here. The worst hotel experience of all time.
Be the first to ReplyFantastic boho chic hotel
Wow, this place is so amazing, it has to be one of the best hotels we have ever stayed at. It oozes style and class from every pore, and it all seems effortless. The service is simply outstanding, within seconds of asking for another coffee or orange juice, it is there. Exceptionally, the staff even anticipate what you are just realising you might need / want, and bring it! When you call for room service, they knock at your door within 5 minutes. The whole operation is seamless, in beautiful, creative and boho chic surroundings. The attention to detail is incredible. The overall vibe and long-standing planting / nature all around is spot on. Someone is running a very tight ship here and all the staff have been trained to a very high standard. Of course, there are always a few very minor niggles - the sun loungers are very close to each other, the wine is expensive, the gym is on the small side…..but that’s really about it. The spa is amazing, the food is great, and the whole experience is delightful. This is a hotel we would highly recommend and look forward to returning to. We wholeheartedly recommend a 3 or 4 night stay here, especially for couples or with a few friends. Overall, solid value for money, particularly compared to other hotels on the Bodrum peninsula.
Be the first to ReplyAMAZING hotel with an incredible staff!!
This boutique hotel is designed like a chic, garden maze. The aesthetics of it is just incredible. Their staff is incredibly helpful and friendly. Shoutout to Cihan and the rest of the team. We had a 10pm connecting then long haul flight, and they were able to give us a very late check out time with no extra cost. We are incredibly grateful for that!! The most hospitable staff/hotel in Turkey!!!!
