The food was appealing to the palate and the drinks were amazing. A really nice place to go on a date or with a group of friends.
Be the first to Replyoverall nice staff.
overpriced, even during restaurant week (will say staff definitely rushed us through meal which didn't feel very pleasant). food just so so, too fusion-y for my taste personally. setting wise felt wee claustrophobic. unlikely to return. p.s. restaurant name is cute though

If you've never tried Indian food here's is a great place to start . I would call it Indian fusion , great dishes not over powering but quite tasteful

As an Indian American woman who cooks a lot, i did not enjoy this place at all. The restaurant was simple and clean and staff was polite and friendly. The food, however, was lacking. We ordered the naan pizette($18), vegetarian clay pot($21), and the halibut curry($27).The naan itself was tasty, but the appetizer was lacking in salt and flavor and frankly over priced. The halibut curry-the fish was tender but the dish was over seasoned and the spices were not plumed and gritty. And potatoes were under cooked. The vegetarian clay pot DID NOT come in a clay pot. It was over cooked vegetables with zero seasoning and some weird green sauce on the plate.

As much as I hate to put a scathing review when restaurants are struggling .... I couldn't find anything redeeming qualities with the Farm Dinner for 2 that we ordered. It's leg of lamb in jus, fingerling potatoes (where was that?), cabbage in a puree sauce, and rice. And this was no where near for 2. We tried to make the most of it, I gave most of the food to my husband because he was hungry, and honestly, I was embarrassed. I had a tasting plate (grabbed a spoonful so I can at least taste it). Luckily we ordered the fromage as a side.....so I thought. Unfortunately, for each bite we took, it got worse... bland bland. The fromage? Burnt waffle with cheese ...bland. We hoped that it would at least have a sweet savory taste...nope.Our experience wasn't desirable, try it at your risk. Also, please don't market it for 2 because it's not.

I was afraid to try Indian food because I really dislike the smell of the spices I do not like it one bit. The service was not good my server did. NOT know the menu every time I ask what she liked she just stared at the sky too spaced out not focusing on what was asked. I did loved the food it was something very delicious and modern. The naan was so delicious it was the star of the menu and the scallops too very good. I did not like non of the desserts and we had all of them too bland and tasteless. I think too it is too pricy the dishes are not huge but the price is. This is my second time I went to an I Dian influence restaurant and this restaurantWas very good. The food was a total modern twist and also the food was a little spicy . I was so surprised how American people became to like spicy food. I found out that Indian food is very healthy

When we went (mind you things may have changed as covid phasing progresses) but we paid ahead of time and the meal was brought out to us in courses. You choose between meat or vegetarian and then they bring you whatever is being served that day. The Bhel Puri salad was truly one of the best things I've ever eaten. It was so flavorful and I would go back and just eat that. The main dish, Vindaloo was pretty good. I probably won't return but that's due to it being inconvenient to access. We obviously had to sit outdoors and kind of felt like you were in the street but you work with what you've got during these times.

Mango Pickle pivoted to curbside to-go meals in the wake of COVID-19 rendering dine-in service banned in Chicago. I have ordered at least 15 times since the to-go menu was put into place. It is not only a great deal for multiple courses at $14/person, it was never once even remotely less than perfection. Everything was always delicious, flavorful, and comforting. What's more, the owners were making meals available for those in need - they really care about the community. While they're on a much-deserved break, I hope to see them back soon. It's the best restaurant in my neighborhood and honestly incredible Indian food that opened my eyes (and mouth!) to the incredible range of flavors in India. Many restaurants focus on one particular region, but Mango Pickle has food from different regions of India - a very fun experience. I love this place!
Be the first to ReplyReally bad experience with their comfort meal.
The naan was undercooked / raw, Rajma was black beans mixed with some lentils and parboiled, chicken butter masala seemed to be cooked in a mole sauce and eggplant Bharta was flavor less. See pictures. Never ordering again. I never waste food but this is going into trash.
Be the first to ReplyThe take out has been amazing.
Mango is open everyday of the week. Favorites are the butter chicken and the Kitchari. Do not forget the naan or the amazing desserts!!!! They practice social distancing beautifully.

Ordered the daily comfort meal for 2 and was BLOWN AWAY! The Shrimp and Cabbage Salad was light, but had an excellent assortment of flavors that blended together seamlessly. The Chicken Biryani main course had moist chicken that practically melted in your mouth, and paired excellently with other sides like the Dal and the Raita. The Spiced Butter Cookies were also an amazing way to wrap up our meal- absolutely delicious! Check out their daily comfort food menu for delivery and pick up! Definitely a meal that makes quarantine more tolerable!
