Maple & Ash definitely lives up to all the hype.
The ambiance, food, and service were all top notch...I think? LOL! I'm embarrassed to admit, but we got completely wasted and the whole experience was a bit of a blur so I'm a little hazy on specific details. All I remember clearly was that the dinner started with appetizer drinks and a caviar dip thing which were both complimentary, followed by the seafood tower, some steaks, and dessert... and that we were completely satisfied with everything. I'm sure we were difficult customers that night (sorry!), but I don't remember getting any sass from the servers. We came famished and completely sober, but left full, slushed, satisfied, and wallets empty lol.

First and foremost, outstanding wait service! We loved the candelabra on our table too! Food was great, salads, steak, appetizers all good. Fun atmosphere, a bit loud. Only sore point was the dessert- the ice cream had no flavor whatsoever, aside from the strawberry scoop. Reviving 4 stars because the host was very rude and told us he didn't have a reservation for us... when the rest of our party was checked in and sitting at the bar upstairs and there was in fact a table of 9 for us... we had to just walk in and ignore him.

I love love love dining here, just entering you get the air of fine wine and a fine time ! The food never disappoints me and service is quick and attentive. As well as the staff all around was super helpful and nice . Full of smiles!
Be the first to Replythis place certainly passes the vibe check.
it's sexy, romantic, and very upscale. the service was also great - the entire wait staff timed each course perfectly. the potatoes au gratin were so deliciously creamy and decadent. the bone marrow was very flavorful. my takamori drunken wagyu was superb - really good seasoning and cooked just how i like it. however, my partner's aged new york strip was nothing to write home about. it tasted very tough, but maybe this was because i tried this after my wagyu. the starter chips and dip was good, but the dip honestly tasted just like french onion dip. also, i know this is fine dining, but man is this place pricey.

Do not go here! The management has changed in the environment has changed. This place is not a place I recommend. There are so many other great places in the west loop. This place has literally fallen apart.
Be the first to ReplyI lowkey just went here today.
When we walked in the place looked decent aesthetically . We sat on the 1st floor for a lunch reservation, where they had a nice lounge and bar area. While chillin and trying to figure out what to order, we had a gentleman pour us room temp water and when I took a sip of the water through my straw something besides water came out. I took what ever it was out my mouth and it looked like an old piece of meat or something(). The guy apologized but never told his server partner what took place. They gave a lousy 10% off we didn't leave though shorty still was gasing the place up. They heard so many good things about the place so we still ate there and the food was still amazing. Especially the King crab sushi roll. We was also disappointed another time because we went there thinking that we would try this dish in the video but apparently we were too early (noon) and they don't serve this until happy hour which starts a 5pm and ends at 6pm the server explained. So I guess that's exactly what it is "a happy hour". 5/10. For the service. -The meat in water issue -server did it stop by table after taking order. - seafood tower deal only available from 5pm-6pm I'd give them another chance cus the food was so good
Be the first to ReplyThe food was okay.
Pricey but the ambiance is what sold me. The drinks were good and my salmon was okay but the people were everything. Single night life in Chicago is what this restaurant gives and was told that the bar has a separate menu that is better.

Maple and Ash never dissapoints! My husband and I have been here four time and the service and food has always been consistently good. They play some type of house music but I didn't even notice until I watched a video I recorded of the food. Food wise, the only thing I do not recommend is the octopus. I've had it twice and both times it's been tough. The wagyu sampler is 100% worth it if you love meat, and the veal chop is perfect if you have an appetite. Don't fill up with their complimentary items and splurge on the delicious cuts they have!
Be the first to ReplyStaff are unbelievably rude.
Dont go here. Bouncers especially have zero class nor manners. Highly suggest you go to Lux Bar
Be the first to ReplyWent here for my birthday.
Was so excited, got the surf and turf and was very disappointed. The lobster and steak had a char taste to it. Was expecting a lot more. I did however really enjoy the side dishes and the martinis. The whipped mashed potato's and Mac and cheese were out of this world. Would only come back for the drinks and the sides.
Be the first to ReplyThe tomahawk steak is not recommended, not worth the price.
Besides that everything else is outstanding!!!

We have been twice - once upstairs and once walk-in for lunch because I had to try their sushi. The ambiance is lovely: swanky yet cozy. LOVE the real candles and candelabras. The cocktails are seriously something special. Very clean and flavorful and each with a special touch: be it edible glitter or a branded ice cube. The food itself has been...stellar. Both times. Their steaks are very flavorful and I enjoyed that there was some char on them. Whereas a lot of steak houses depend on the sous vide technique which I feel sometimes ruins the tooth-feel of the meat, Maple and Ash takes the time to cook things properly. The sides are decadent but not to be missed: we loved the spinach, gratin, and macaroni and cheese. The service we received was also wonderful and deserves extra mention. I actually enjoyed our lunch walk-in meal the most. Probably because I could get mac and cheese, sushi, and steak all in the same meal. Our waitress was personable and seemed to take a lot of pride in working there. Right now, Maple and Ash is my favorite restaurant experience in Chicago. And let's be clear, it's because they put food first. All the little extras make it an "experience."

Went solo dining for the first time here and it was absolutely worth it. The food was great, the service was great, the staff was great and I will be back again and again for sure!

Absolutely loved it! Food, atmosphere and service was more than I could've even asked for. Just a fun and amazing restaurant to experience. Thank you for not disappointing
Be the first to ReplyA lot can be said about the atmosphere and ambiance in here
A lot can be said about the atmosphere and ambiance in here -- it's moody, intimate, clearly upscale. It was noisy on a Sunday night but not overwhelmingly so that I wasn't able to hear my friend within immediate earshot. Navigability is a bit of an issue as we had to take an elevator to get to the walk in dining area and then, when I needed to use the restroom, do a bit of a loopdy-loop back around from the host area. Food, though, assuredly is fantastic. We ordered charred Brussels sprouts and they were perfectly cooked -- flaky, crispy and flavorful. And I don't even like sprouts too much but I went hard here.I got the dry aged ribeye. At nearly $80 I figured this better damn well be worth it since I've gotten amazing tomahawks for cheaper. But the flavor really surprised me and may have been the best ribeye I've had at a restaurant. It was slightly buttery and the actual texture of the meat was almost like it melted in your mouth after the first bite.

Wonderful service, atmosphere and food that was beyond! It was a great night. Staff throughout the restaurant go above and beyond during every encounter. They made the experience spectacular!

Honestly no idea what the big deal is, went there for a birthday dinner with daughter, very standard and in some cases sub standard food. Had the bone in dry aged strip, good not great, especially for $80, daughter had a filet, trimmed down to the size of a quarter. Sides were mediocre too, Brussels sprouts were meh, Mac and cheese was nothing special, fries were good but a small cup of fries were $10. Desert was nicely presented but again kind of standard, considering a slice of chocolate cake was $30!!!! I know there are pretentious people who rave about places where they get overcharged for pretty standard food but I'm not that person. Also, can Chicago get risk of the ridiculous Benefit fee!?!? Pretentious restaurant trying too hard, why bother putting F*@k on your menu and other than letting you know gang you are about to be screwed.

Maple and Ash is #1 and just increased its gap amongst its competitors. I want you to think of when Muhammad Ali defended his heavyweight title for the 5th year in a row and commentators speculated he wouldn't lose until he retired. That's where we're at right now. Tonight, my girlfriend ordered the "beefed up butter" steak modification. I am unaware if this is a new item or we simply overlooked it in the past. However, it is an absolute game changer. It's like luxury chick fil a sauce. We put it on the steak, on the potatoes... Everything. I'd DRINK this s**t. And only ~$15? Absolute must try.
Be the first to ReplyThis is honestly one of my favorite steakhouses in Chicago!
This is honestly one of my favorite steakhouses in Chicago! The staff are so professional and nice. The ambience of the restaurant is good too, although it is a bit dark for my liking. I order some fire roasted oysters that were so good! My steak was cook perfectly! The lobster Mac and cheese was amazing too!
Be the first to ReplyWe had the most romantic/dreamy date.
Every member of the staff that we interacted with were so friendly and welcoming and the cocktails were absolutely refreshing. The food...was a religious experience and I can't wait for our next special occasion so that we can come back. Thank you for making our night so wonderful!
Be the first to ReplyThe ambiance was lively and at times very loud.
I was having a hard time hearing my wife at our table. The service was great and attentive. The quantity of food was excessive and I was disappointed in my steak but the rest of the meal was delicious. I think having smaller portions and lowering the cost would make it more accessible. Overall an enjoyable experience.
Be the first to ReplyJust wow! The seafood tower was so so sooooooooo incredible.
I highly recommend maple and Ash.
Be the first to ReplyFine and wrong experience was great.
The service was amazing. The food was very delicious the mashed potatoes to die for.

When I go to a high end steak house I really expect to get a "wow" factor when my food comes.I got the bone in rib-eye ( my all time favorite) with the mashed potatoes and my wife got the scallops. The steak and potatoes didn't have any real special flavor that made me feel like I would want to come back. As far as my wife's scallops the best thing she said was I made better ones at home. The atmosphere was great and our host, Joe, was awesome, he made the night special. But for us, there was nothing that made us want to come back, only want us to go home and fire up my grill.Sorry Amber and Ash.
