A bit overpriced for what it is there are better places to eat in Nottingham. The vegetarian option was a very unimaginative Nut Roast!

Given the reviews, my husband and I picked this for our anniversary dinner in Nottingham. Unfortunately, for us, the experience did not match up to the hype. I ordered the soft shell crab with aioli and rocket and Parmesan salad hors d'oeuvres. I got soft shell crab with dijonnaise and rocket. When I asked the waitress about it, she checked, came back and apologised and accepted pit was their fault. I ordered my lamb pink, thinking it would be medium to medium rare, but it was rare verging on blue. Tasty and tender, but again, not quite what I expected. My husband started with the French onion soup, which weirdly, came with an English muffin half instead of a crouton. Wasn't really that nice. His fillet steak was nice, but the pepper sauce was watery. And the faulty hors d'oeuvres remained on the bill. It wasn't the worst meal I've ever had, but it definitely is not a place I intend to return to.

I had the French onion soup to start, which was full of flavour and very nice. It is served with a rarebit on the side. For main course, I had 8oz Rump steak cooked medium rare which was cooked perfectly and came with a small saucepans of chunky chips and béarnaise sauce and grilled tomato with a smear of refreshing orange sauce. £15 for 2 courses. Not bad at all, but not quite as good as I expected.
