We came for a late lunch and to try local vegan food.
We were very pleased with this experience. The menu had specific items. The vegan omelette sounded the best and it was delicious. It was piled with vegetables and I love seeds. They ran out of fries for another dish, but they were substituted with salad, which is arguably better. The waitress was alone but she was really nice and explained everything and provided recommendations. She was attentive to the couple other tables who were also there. The service is great at this restaurant. The restroom is a one off but it is clean. There is a front area and back area with more seating. We sat in the front and looked out the large windows to the street.
Be the first to ReplyAmbience is superb.
Super cozy and relaxing. Love the music they play here -- really chill vibes. Well lit, friendly service, the hostess took the time to explain a lot of what's on their menu. The food? BOMB! Really good stuff. I had the spinach soup and the curry dish and both of them were great portions and left me feeling damn delightful. Just 2 gripes, but not docking any stars for this because the food, ambience, and friendliness of service were all really good. Just want to make management aware: 1) They asked if I wanted the soup first, then the dish and I said "yes" but they brought both out at the same time, and 2) someone kept blasting the news and random hip-hop tunes on top of the chill, ambient music they had in the background, which kind of threw a ripple into the mood.All-in-all, a good experience and I would come back.

Yes, it does take a bit of a wait to get your food, once you've ordered but yes, it is TOTALLY worth it. I had spent a month in Berlin and was staying around the corner from New Deli but I had consistently and purposefully passed it by the first couple of weeks - honestly, I'm a yoga teacher in the US and when I think "yoga food"... well, let's just say I'm over it. Why would I choose to eat boring "yoga health food" when I could be eating lots of delicious Lebanese, Vietnamese, Turkish, etc...?!I broke down one day and went it for a smoothie as a quick pick-me-up to get me through until dinner time. The smoothie was decent, but I just grabbed it and left. Went in a second time for another smoothie and then one more time I was tired of wandering so sat down for a late, light breakfast - I got the polenta porridge and yes, with this polenta I slowly began to warm up to New Deli. It was quite tasty. One of my peers heard me moaning about craving eggs and she mentioned that New Deli made really delicious eggs for their breakfast dishes. Stupidly, I didn't think they had any non vegan food there so I went back to check it out. People, I was WRONG. Very, very wrong about New Deli. Their food is anything but bland and boring - I wish they'd open up in Seattle! Their eggs and salads and toast and everything else are really, really delicious. Like I said, worth the wait because it absolutely tastes like someone is making everything fresh for you (which they are actually doing.) I regret having wasted a couple of weeks avoiding it or this would have been one of my go-to spots the entire time.
Be the first to ReplyReally cozy place with focus on healthy food on the ground
Really cozy place with focus on healthy food on the ground floor of a residential building. Went here two days in a row and tried the warm egg salad, which came with two soft boiled eggs and an interesting crouton with tomato sauce and salad mix. Would have been happier with more salad than croutons though. Also tried the croissant with avocado, tomatoes and cheese. Wish they would have been more generous with avocado since it just was a slice, literally. The full brunch plate with scrambled eggs, avocado and spicy potatoes looked and tasted amazing though. Lovely and spacey interior. Felt like home.
Be the first to ReplyNew Deli Yoga is kind of over rated.
It does do nice food but the portions are far from generous and the wait time IS long... and they say "our food takes long chill out" on the wall and its like... well, I wouldn't come to eat if I wasn't hungry?? And then I feel like I should have ordered two mains. Hmmm. Maybe I just ordered the wrong thing. Still I'd go if I was in the area and maybe try ordering something else. Or maybe the quality was low that day? I don't know but I felt disappointed.

Love the ambiance-- family style tables with long benches or tables for 2-4. Notice the back room too. Smoothies are a perfect pick me up. And 5-6 types of "milk" for your coffee drinks! Yum

Some friends brought me this gem which has become, without exaggeration, a daily addiction. Had they not invited me I probably would have missed it. I don't typically eat at vegetarian restaurants and the name confused me, seemed like a yoga studio / juice bar... In fact, this is the most delicious, cozy, welcoming restaurant around. I've been making my way through the menu, day by day. Current addictions include "Shiva's Nectar" green juice which makes my whole body scream YES when the first drop hits my mouth. Everything here is made with love, you taste it in each bite, you see it in the beautiful presentation. More highlights, "The Stack" which is an insane eggplant hashbrown folded vertically on top of crisp, curried potatoes, chutneys, greens and other delicious textures and tastes. I'm a big fan of the "Full Deli" breakfast with scrambled eggs with goat cheese, melt-in-your mouth pan fried potatoes, crisp spicy greens, fresh bread with butter, and onion jam on hummus. Also the coffee here is on point. The staff is charming and involved with progressive activism. All in all, a wonderful establishment for selfish reasons and for supporting the greater good. If you are nearby, come through!

..turned me into a fan quickly! Great cakes and coffee...breakfast which fills the tummy and provides balance in both choice and flavours. The Chocolate Cake, which we enjoyed warm, was absolutely one of the best vegan cakes I have tasted. Worth a visit if you are in the Kiez!

Best tasting vegetarian meal I have had ever and that is saying a lot. Every bite had a ton of flavor and perfect crunch. Unfortunately I have no idea what my bowl was called since a friend ordered for me, but it was a house standard. Felt really good after the lunch, perfect portion size, nice service, and low cost.
Be the first to ReplyReally good third-wave-style-coffee.
There aren't any Newspapers to read, just old(?) magazines. Staff is okay, though not too nice. Snacks look nice, though there aren't any below 1.50 (e.g. a small cracker to accompany the coffee). Typical Berlin-style interior.
