In a manner I can only describe as serendipitous, my family and I stumbled upon this joint by chance, and I'm so glad we did. The place, unassuming on the outside and easy to miss, serves quite literally the best ganjung gejang (soy sauce marinated crab) I have ever had. Seriously, what did I just experience?! My mother's favorite Korean dish is soy sauce marinated crab and having tried ganjung gejang countless times both within and outside country borders, she also agreed that Ha Sun Saeng's reigned supreme. We also had the live Uni and raw marinated shrimp which were both lavishly creamy and incredibly fresh. The banchans, though small in quantity, will receive no complaints from me as they exceed in quality and taste nothing but homemade. The establishment is also well-decorated and very clean. The odor may err on the fishy side, but what do you expect from a restaurant that specializes in raw seafood? The servers are also attentive, kind, and patient, especially for those who are unfamiliar with the menu's offerings. Some may gripe about the price, but when factoring the quality and freshness, it more than makes up for its steeper costs. Master Ha is truly a master of his craft. No culinary novices will ever be found on their premises.

Was super excited to try this place but it was just average :( This restaurant is known for for their raw marinated crab. I opted to go to this restaurant because of their know high quality, comparable. My friend has been wanting to try raw marinated crabs for the first time and I was already a big fan of spicy marinated raw crabs. Unfortunately, the best thing was the beef short rip soup, which might be just average compared to any of the many restaurants in Ktown. I also liked the ink rice bowl but again just standard quality. Note: we did get the prepeeled crab for the convenience but I felt this still would have been good quality. Even though the presentation was beautiful, it tasted not fresh/fishy than I think it normally should and the marinate it was in did not mask or just very light in general. The shrimp was a no for us unfortunately. Maybe the marinade was off that day but it just tasted salty. We couldn't eat another bite of it. The server noticed and was so nice to check up on us and even offered to switch it out for something else. Other notes: we went expecting a wait on a weekday but we were served right away. The restaurant's bathroom is also super nice with mouthwash and the whole works.
Be the first to ReplyIf you haven't gotten around to trying raw marinated crabs
If you haven't gotten around to trying raw marinated crabs yet, this is your sign! Walking in, we could smell the seafood in the air, but not in a bad way. It was fresh, fragrant, and savory all at the same time. We went with the medium Master Ha's Marinated Crab with added Salmon and the Beef Short Rib Soup. Master Ha's Marinated Crab (+ Salmon): 5/5 Wow. Just wow. Everything tasted insanely fresh and was so perfectly complimented by the savory marinate. Top off your bite with a bit of rice and you're golden. The Salmon add-on was a superb idea! So buttery and melt-in-your-mouth. This set also comes with crab miso soup (one per person) which was a comforting touch. I'm gettin cravings just daydreaming back to it. Beef Short Rib Soup: 4/5 With super tender meat and a clean broth, this was a nice breather from all the seafood we were eating. Really healing and yummy!
Be the first to ReplyMy husband and I went here yesterday for my birthday and it
My husband and I went here yesterday for my birthday and it was beyond what I expected. We overdid it because I let my stomach speak but it was worth it all. We had the uni bowl to share. The uni bowl does come with 3 little sides and seaweed to compliment the dish. My husband got a wagyu bowl, which also has 3 little dish, but it was different sides than the uni bowl. Lastly, we got the medium soy sauce marinated crab with salmon and uni added. This was 2 full crabs and a good amount of salmon and uni. Also, it comes with seaweed, kimchi, and kimchi radish (don't know the official name but you know what I mean). I did not try the wagyu bowl but my husband said it was amazing! The uni bowl was delicious. The uni was so fresh and the rice it came with was a little sweet but definitely compliments the uni. BUT the soy sauce marinated crab was to die for! It is given to you with plain white rice and squeezing the meat into the rice and mixing it all together was a treat! They did not skip out on the uni and salmon on that either. All in all, not only was the food amazing, the ambiance of the place was calming, and the staff was so helpful in giving you some recommendations on how to eat the dishes. Definitely a place to come back to

Came here for lunch on Saturday, there was zero wait time, and parking was easy to find around the surrounding streets (meter & free). The staffs here were all very friendly and the restaurant looked clean. We came in as a group of four people so we opted for the large marinated crab that has three whole crabs and a few marinated eggs in the dish. They also had the premium marinated crab which comes with four female crabs (more eggs) along with some other marinated goodies within the dish. We also ordered the premium uni bowl combo and a side of marinated raw shrimp. Everything tasted absolutely fresh and amazing. The marinated raw crabs is probably the best in ktown in my opinion. It was super fresh, meaty, not overly marinated, and we could taste the sweetness of the crab. Uni bowl and raw shrimp were a fun treat to devour but I highly recommend trying the marinated raw crab if you had to pick one thing to order. Our group also got the beef short rib soups and the ox bone soup with brisket. Both soups were very tasty. Overall, I highly recommend trying them out!

Raw marinated crabs (minimum order is for 2 people) WERE SO GOOD!!! Nicely plated, fresh, and delicious. I will return again just for this dish. This is what they're known for here, so if you aren't sure what to get, you can't go wrong with this one. Only downside is the price. The shrimp (4 pieces) for $10 was also super good and fresh. Would reorder. The wagyu beef bowl + steamed egg + 3 small side dishes was okay. Beef was pretty good (but pricey). Is it a must here? Not necessarily but for the price, the beef was delicious. Service was efficient. You may have to wait a little (15 mins?) if you come during peak hour.

The best marinated crab in the town! Presentation is so good as well as the food! I love how it's not too salty.

This is now one of my favorite restaurants! I haven't seen any other restaurants that present crabs so beautifully. The crabs and abalone with rice were delicious, and I especially loved the uni rice. The server was very friendly as well. I can't wait to go back!

The seafood is so fresh! Love this place
Be the first to ReplyTHE BEST MARINATED CRAB IN K-Town! At least that's how I
THE BEST MARINATED CRAB IN K-Town! At least that's how I feel. Most people will say Crab House is better but Ioono man. I liked the marinade and sauce better at Master Ha's. My friend Young brought me here for my birthday and we got one of everything! Gosh my mouth is watering just thinking about the food and experience. Fresh and soooo delicious. If you never had Marinated Korean Crab, you MUST try this spot first! I tried this spot for my first time and I haven't found any other spot that does it for me. At least not yet lol

Please open up!! Im craving the soy sauce flavored raw crabs and other goodies. Their soy sauce flavor abalone and shrimp are also to die for. I will literally drive 45 minutes just for their food. It's SO good and satisfying. Their takeout containers are VERY well done. Everything is sealed in so no mess of spills. They give you this one time use cutter so you can cut thru the seals when you are ready to eat.Their soup is also very good.I've tried all their items on their menu and was not disappointed with any item.
Be the first to ReplyTheir crabs are fresh and tasty.
I have had many places. Their portion was the most generous. Hopefully they will reopen soon. Can't wait.

I loooooOove crab meat! I order from here whenever I am in town! Too bad I live in Texas and I really wish there was one here ! There might be many Korean places that sells the soy crabs but this place makes it the best ! It's sweet and salty and makes you wanna keep eating more. It might be pricier but it's worth it very penny.

Their raw crab rice and the marinated crab are the must haves. Remember to add uni salmon in the marinated crab.

Amazing! This was my first experience eating raw crab, and the soy marinade was so good! Service can be a little slow because they don't have too many staff members, but they gave us a soup on the house, which was very nice of them. After dinner, we complimented the food, and the lady working there told us to come back after July, since they were planning to do renovations. Can't wait to see what it looks like after and excited to come again for the good food!
Be the first to ReplyThis place is the worst Korean restaurant I ever been.
I never experienced such horrible service in the past of my life. We arrived at 12:30 and they didn't find us a place to sit until 12:45. There's no doubt that they would let us wait even longer if its not because we asked them if we can sit. Also they have 3-4 empty tables when we arrived and the customers were not that many. After we sit, again, they didn't give us the menu until we asked for it. It'll only take them few seconds to give us the menu and they just let us wait. The food is just okay, not as good as I thought. Definitely won't come here again.
Be the first to ReplyThis is my favorite soy sauce crab restaurant in Los
This is my favorite soy sauce crab restaurant in Los Angeles (this dish is in raw). I ordered a combination one. There is a small crab, an abalone, and 2 shrimps. Because I am easily to get seafood allergies, I must eat fresh ones. But in this restaurant I have never had a problem. The sea urchin rice bowls are very famous, but unfortunately I only have one person to eat such big portion of meal. Next time I will find a few more friends to eat together. Highly recommended!

I used to eat a lot raw crab back in China, so I was very excited when I first found this place. Pretty good at the first bite, but all raw crab, shrimp and crab bowl taste same. My tongue got numb after a few minutes. It's too much salt intake overall. Don't get the marinated seafood plate and crab rice at the same time. They are the same thing. I would highly recommend the ox tail soup. Very rich and creamy!
Be the first to ReplyThis small gem in LA's Korea Town will be my favorite place
This small gem in LA's Korea Town will be my favorite place for the most delectable delicious Delicacies of KOREAN seafoods: Namely Soy Sauce marinated Blue Crabs. One of their signature dishes and probably one of the best tasting items in all of my prior eating experience. Most of the restaurant that carry this rare commodity marinated raw crab in salt and then pour soy sauce afterwards leaving the crab meat very salty and dry. Master Ha marinated the crabs in less salty sauce hence preserving the taste of the raw crab meat without saltiness. Each legs are cut so we can easily get to the tender meat inside instead of having to mess around with scissors and fingers. The five sushi are one of the best tasting. They only make shrimp, uni, salmon, albacore and crab. The chef gave us an extra. Though it was a perfectly balanced side dishes and large scrumptious meal besotted with radish kimchi that was radically delicious and perfectly aged, their kimchi was served before they are ripe, which is what older people prefer. I would have liked my rice to be served steaming hot and sticky, however due to pandemic, the rice came out warm in covered plastic and was tad too dry. Prices are reasonable and they don't serve alcoholic drinks. The restaurant has been around four years and is thriving. The parking is difficult. You Foodies must try it. It's an epic epicurean experience Bruh!
