Good food and terrific service
We went to Mastro's twice this week. Both times they could not be more accomodating. Another restaurant cancelled our reservation and Mastro's fit us in on the fly. The second time we went the staff worked hard to find us a table in a spot that we preferred It's a traditional upscale steakhouse menu with expanded seafood choices. We enjoyed everything we ate.
Be the first to ReplyNot Sure The Food Is Worth The Wait.
The food was really good, but the service was so slow. I would recommend some of the sides. Scalloped Potatoes were awesome! The Broccolini and Brussel Sprouts were good too. This place is busy at night. So, get started early. You will be there a while.
Be the first to ReplyAn expensive experience for a mediocre restaurant
This had been our " go to" restaurant for many years for birthdays, anniversaries etc. In the past, it was simply outstanding! We went yesterday for our birthday celebration and it was disappointing. The seafood tower was a platter. The Alaskan king crab legs were tubular in shape. Why keep them on the menu if they are so scrawny? Bread is now charged as a service! I don't mind paying going prices but let's maintain quality. The server was excellent but the support staff needed to be flagged to get refills on bread, drinks, etc. This place is NOW mediocre at best. Too many other places which have maintained excellence in quality and service. We're done here! This review is based on many years of eating at Ocean Club wherein it was the place to go. It is now the place NOT to go unless mediocrity is one's preference. What a shame!
Be the first to ReplyBanquet Food! Expensive & Not Worth It!
Let’s start from the beginning about this being an awful, tired, worn out, expensive and below average night out with a few friends. 1.) Valet Parking - $15 2.) Glass of Water - Tasted like fishy lake water 3.) Bread Basket dropped on table - $5 4.) Rubbery Tasteless Calamari - Gross $26 5.) Wedge Salad, Old Wilted Gross Lettuce -$17 6.) Grouper & Crabcake Special - Disgusting 7.) Side of Max & Cheese - Inedible - Horrible 8.) 4oz Diet Coke - $6 - Not even 2 sips. 9.) Cream Corn - Seemed OK - $19 I0.) Grilled Asparagus - Burnt & Charred - $19 11.) So Loud in this Place that you can’t hear the people at your own table speaking. Learn Sign Language. 12.) Valet is App only. They won’t stop texting even after you leave. You are in the system now. Skip this place. It’s way overrated and not worth it at all! Terrible. Never ever going back to this place.
Be the first to ReplyAbsolutely wonderful dinner and service! Must try.
We had a fantastic dinner and great service from Tyler. He made really good recommendations and our meal was well paced. Those bringing our food and cleaning table were awesome as well. Enjoyed everything from beginning to end. The dry ice (smoking) lemon drop and Cosmo were the best drinks. Ice cold. Perfect mixture of ingredients. The tuna tower was stacked high, huge and cold, with a delicious blend of flavors. The clear lobster roll was unusual and very good. Sea bass and Branzino were cooked perfectly. Soft and moist. Sides of asparagus and truffled gnocchi (so rich!) were plentiful. Enough of fish and sides to take home. Chocolate cake with sauce and whipped cream topped off the meals perfectly. Thanks to Tyler and staff for great service!
Be the first to ReplyA Great Experience!
We celebrated Dad's 85th birthday. Everyone was so accommodating and patient, from the staff at the front desk, to our waiter, John. The food was great, everything was explained in detail. A wonderful, memorable experience! And the phone call the next day was a personal and unexpected great addition to the evening.

This place was busy! The bar area was packed! We waited about an hour and didn’t get a seat in the bar but in the restaurant. Recommendation: Make reservations. They have a piano player as entertainment- at least on this Friday they did. Service was good. I had the Sea bass which was excellent and my husband enjoyed his swordfish. Nice flavors and not too filling. We also had the asparagus and a yummy tuna tartare appetizer. Good location with valet and parking nearby.

Great dining experience Thoroughly enjoyed listening to the waiters knowledge on the specials, impressive stuff. Food was excellent. Had the swordfish 👏 Thx
Be the first to ReplyBusy place, excellent service
This was a revisit and we weren't disappointed. Very good service. We had a chopped iceberg wedge salad with blue cheese. There were huge, thick pieces of bacon on it and I think it was the best salad of this sort I've ever had! Steaks were good, very large sides too. We had to wait a little longer for our food so dessert was comped. Out waiter was super friendly and fun to interact with. We will come here again!

Really good apps, steaks and sides. Sea Bass was jut ok…kind of plain Atmosphere was great as well with love music in the bar area. We were in the dinning side but could still hear it
Be the first to ReplyGreat Food, Extensive Wine List Excellent Service
Attractive restaurant- excellent food and drinks in Kierland Extensive wine list … fabulous martinis. Filet’s perfectly cooked. Massive baked potato- lots to share as with steamed spinach. My chopped salad was excellent- tasty shrimp throughout. Mambo salad spicy and good. My gnocchi with mushrooms was outstanding. Attentive and friendly service from Oscar. My only complaint was the restaurant is quite noisy, making dinner conversation a bit difficult. Otherwise I’d have given 5 stars - a lovely dining experience.
Be the first to ReplyGreat ambiance, great food and excellent service
Love this brand have been to a number of their restaurants in Phoenix and LA before and they never disappoint. First time visitor to this restaurant and it did not disappoint. On a Saturday evening this restaurant was buzzing particularly in the main bar area with live music. The service we received was first class. Our waiter was so knowledgeable and friendly and as for the food it was just amazing. Particular favourites for me was the calamari and of course the steaks. Side dishes were amazing in particular the Brussels sprouts ( makes me hungry just thinking about them) the fries of course and the special on offer which was the noodle/ egg stir fry. Can only recommend you consider visiting. Not a cheap option but well worth every dollar.
Be the first to ReplyAvoid - No value
I have visited Ocean Club and Mastros many times over the past years. I have not been back to Ocean Club since before 2020. Unfortunately, my recommendation is not to visit and I will not return. Service remains excellent; however, value has dropped and prices are up. The scallop appetizer used to be at least 4 large scallops. Now only 3 small scallops for $39. The 8 oz fillet looked like a hockey puck and I am sure it was not close to 8 ozs. Should have brought a scale. Again, the value of $60 was not there. The asparagus was woody, thin, undercooked, and was a much smaller portion than before for $14. If the asparagus was not worthy of service then the restaurant should not offer the side dish. The mashed potatoes were ok, but a much smaller portion for $14. I spent $500 for 3 people and felt I was cheated due to the portion changes. I have no issue spending the money but do not like nor accept being cheated. I will not return.

I came for dinner after not dining here for quite some time. Parking lot is a disaster area, so plan to walk a little or use Valet. There is dinner seating in the bar area and I'm pretty sure they have live piano music, but we dined early and it hadn't started yet. I prefer dining in the dining room because its not as loud. Aside from the prices going up - it has the same high level corporate feel like 90% of the other well known steakhouses. Interestingly, if you want bread with your meal they now charge $5. Seems strange when you're spending so much already, but whatever. I will say that in the old days, the bread was much better and free. I tried the backed chilean sea bass. It might be the best piece of fish I've ever eaten in a restaurant because of the way it was prepared. Everything else is standard, a la cart sides. Waitstaff is also much better than most restaurants these days. Head waiter, server, expediters, bus boys... the service is 5 stars. Last general impression is that for fine dining, the crowd was dressed VERY casually. Lots of men wore baseball caps, shorts and tennis shoes.
Be the first to ReplyDessert and drinks
Ocean is always a great spot for dinner, drinks, or just stopping off for dessert. The butter cake is to die for and the lemon drop martini is one of the best in town! The live music lounge is a great vibe and always a packed house.
Be the first to ReplyAbove and Beyond😊
Just want to express our sincere appreciation to the Hostess, Kaylee, last night (Christmas) for her exceptional efforts to accommodate our party of four! My daughter’s reservation went missing, but Ocean Club did not miss a beat in getting us a table on one of the busiest nights of the year. Again, thank you. Food and service were excellent, as usual!
Be the first to ReplySo overrated, and so loud
We were seated at bench seating with tables only about 6” apart. The music was so loud we had to shout to hear each other, but could hear the couples on either side of us shouting to each other. The basket of bread they offered when we were first seated was delicious but found out later there is an extra charge for it. We ordered a white fish that they brought out with nothing on the white plate but the fish…no garnishing or anything to make it look appetizing , and it had a fishy taste. Asparagus was undercooked and tough. Could not wait to escape the noise so left without desert. The server did a good job, however we will not be going back.
Be the first to ReplyWHERE THE OLDER ELITE GO TO BE SEEN BUT NOT HEARD
Don't expect to have a conversation with your dinner companion. The music was RIDICUOUSLY LOUD - EVERYWHERE. And I'm a musician!
Management clearly wants it that way. This place is a well-oiled machine.
Food was high quality, but did not match the exorbitant prices.
Best part was the extremely friendly and efficient wait staff. We had great service and the food presentation was terrific.
Great meal and service!
Server was excellent and enjoyed the entertainment. Seated next to piano, and volume was surprisingly just right. Shared everything, salads, sides and fabulous steaks! So pleased with with flavor and preparation! And absolutely save room for the butter cake!
Be the first to ReplyOther location is better.
This location was good, but the other location is better. I can’t explain it. I was expecting to be blown away and left somewhat disappointed. The one by Pinnacle Peak can’t be beat!
Be the first to ReplyOne of our worst restaurant
One of our worst restaurant experiences. Had to valet as there was no parking. Don’t like others to drive my luxury car. Arrived to find FIVE girls in black dresses at the hostess stand comparing their dresses. Ummm...hello??? I am here to be seated??? Crowded, noisy place. Dozens of staff rushing around aimlessly. Dozens of staff but hard to get anyone’s attention. We were given a cocktail menu with no cocktails listed only wine beer hard liquor. Had to ask for the cocktail list. So dang crowded that I had to lean back in my chair to avoid having the dirty dishes being removed from the next table thrust in my face. I actually moved and sat next to my husband because I felt I was in the way!!! Hint to management: your staff should accommodate your guests, not the other way around. I should NEVER feel like I’m in the way. My hubby described his dinner as “Wet and dry.” His chopped wedge salad was wet - water in the bottom of his bowl! And of course all the water made it bland and tasteless. His Mac and cheese seemed to be a bunch of dried out macaroni with some cheese broiled on top. He is a Mac and cheese aficionado and said Kraft Mac and Cheese tastes better than what he was served at Mastros. I had the Mastros house salad which also was wet, making the dressing bland as could be. My seared scallops might have been good had they not been drowning in sauce. Even the cheese toasts that came with the scallops were limp from the sauce. Awful food. Just awful. The live music we wanted to hear was a singer with recorded music. She was hard to hear over the din of the place. We had planned to have a few drinks and listen but if you can’t hear the music....We won’t return. Spent way too much money to leave so sorely disappointed with the whole experience. Our waitress was pleasant.
Be the first to ReplySuperb service and food.
Magio’s deserves its high marks. There service was the best we have had in years. There offerings were similarly marvelous. Our waiter told us that portions were enough for two diners to share. He was not exaggerating. We shared the House Salad and a half salad was a LOT to eat and wonderful to eat. We each had the Big Eyed tuna. She ordered the Hors d’ Oeuvres portion and I ordered the entree. Between the two we had plenty to eat. The tuna was cooked perfectly and the sauce, although heavier than most was very good. For dessert we shared their signature offering. It was very good, but for this chocolate lover, I would order the flourless chocolate cake next time. If you are a fan of desserts similar to their signature, you will not be disappointed! If you are looking for upscale dining, make a reservation.
Be the first to ReplyExcellent seafood, service and supper club atmosphere
We’ve eaten here several times during our trips and always come away impressed. Colossal shrimp cocktail is to be enjoyed visually as well as by taste. (Watch out for the horseradish!). The service is top notch. Recommend reservations and bring a flashlight to read the menu if seated in bar area.
Be the first to ReplyAlways great!
A good meal. This is a great steak place. We shared a wedge salad and a filet which were both excellent.
Great service also!
Excellent dinner
My husband I had dinner here and it was wonderful! The service was excellent and the food was amazing! My husband had the filet and I had the Chilean Sea Bass. I had dinner here approximately five years ago and I remember it being just as wonderful back then! Would definitely recommend!
