Breakfast AND Dinner - What more can you ask
Wonderful find last Sunday (26/2/23) Five of us went in for breakfast on Sunmday morning Great food - good value - good service - very friendly and warm Our waitress was Georgian and a reall happy welcoming smile We asked if we could book a table for 4 in the evening for Dinner as we were heading to Wembley for the football (we got beat but never mind) Went back at 8.30 and had a wondefurl meal - cooked to perfection Well done Chef We were served again by our wondeful waitress and we were treated so warmly it was an absolute pleasure to be there - laughed our way through the evening Met the boss who was also a truly nice person and we talked a lot about a certain photograph on the wall and the bar next door - great stuff and nice history We would like to thank all of those at the cafe for a really nice evening If we are ever in London again this place is a MUST VISIT
Be the first to ReplyLovely Breakfast
A group of 6 of us stubbled across this cafe looking for breakfast on a Sunday morning before heading home. We were quickly given a table inside the bar next door which the cafe is now also operating from. The waiter was very hospitable a quickly sorted our drinks and took our orders along with various dietary requests. We had the English Breakfast, Turkish Breakfast and some mushrooms on toast which we all agreed was great and quickly cleared our plates. Value for money was average for the location but given the good service and quality of the food I'd be happy to return.

Such an amazing experience stumbled upon this gem by chance... stunning quirky ambience, friendly staff, AMAZINGLY YUMMY food! My favorite restaurant in London
Be the first to ReplyExcellent Moussaka.
We had a price fix menu of two courses. Both were excellent, and both were of a nice portion size. So it made the meal reasonably priced. Both the calamari, and the Moussaka were excellent. The waitress was friendly and the service was good.
Be the first to ReplyDon't bother to eat here. A waste of money
Went here with my wife after going a matinee play. We both chose the £18.95 pp main meal followed by sweet selection. My wife ordered their chicken kebab meal and I ordered their Fillet of Sea Bass meal and we both had Tiramisu after. My wife's kebab consisted of 5 small pieces of chicken with onions and peppers inbetween each chicken piece. She is only 5' 2" so a meal of this size was ok for her. But a 'small' kebab like this one wasn't worth £7, let aline the £14 or £15 we were charged (she had a small portion of rice and a tiny salad with it) My fillet of Sea Bass, I kid you not, was a 4 inch fish 'Goujon', ie, slightly bigger than a fish finger in batter, just as a goujon would be. It's menu description stated 'fillet' meaning it WASN'T covered in batter. With my meal it stated it comes with 'potatoes'. It came with ONE small jersey potato cut in half! So I ordered a bowl of chips, for £4. When I complained to the Manager, I had to wait for him to finish his 5 minutes discussion with his 2 aquaintances before he came over to me, knowing I was waiting to speak to him. I explained that the 'fillet' of fish was a 4 inch long'Goujon' , not afillet. His reply? 'What is a goujon?' I responded with 'You don't know what a goujon is?!' He said 'No'. I then said 'Your Chef knows what a goujon is! It's a shame he has no idea what a 'fillet' is! The Tiramisu tasted like it had an artificial sweetener in it. Were our meals worth £19 each all but 5p? A BIG NO. NO member of staff asked us at any time we were sat at our table if everything was ok for me to reply 'no actually!' Also, our table was in front of 1 of the 2 doors to their downstairs bar..and I was asked TWICE to shift across to the other corner of our table so 2 men (at separate times) could come into the restaurant where we sat. A 3rd man also asked if I could move to one side and I said 'No!' The Manager stated that he would put our situation right next time. I said to him that there won't be a'next time'. He walked off quite aloofly. £12 for a medium size cocktail. Don't waste your money eating here.
Be the first to ReplyNOT WORTH THE MONEY
It took nearly 1 hour to get our breakfast food, which was cold when it arrived and muffins (which were bread buns not muffins) were not toasted and cold! We didn’t want to send back as were hungry and needed to be somewhere and had waited so long. We had to ask for it a few times during the hour and had 2 coffees each whilst waiting. Given the length of the wait, I would have thought a comp coffee would have been added. The bill was £43 for 2 breakfasts (eggs Benedict), and absolutely not worth it. I have worked in the area for 20 years, it’s the first and last time I will visit. There was no customer service, no friendliness.
Be the first to ReplyAVOID - NOT GOOD VALUE
This is not good value for money and should be avoided. It should also be inspected by Westminster Council and TripAdvisor. When the food arrived we should have walked away. The Menu shown on TripAdvisor is certainly not the menu given to us at the cafe, we were charged £12 and £14 for the Turkish and Med Garden Plate breakfasts. Med Garden Plate: The scrambled eggs were runny and cold, the slices of tomato were cold and not roasted, the avocado was a mashed pulp, a thin slice of sujuc sausage, a little finger size of rubbery cold halloumi, 3 slices of cucumber, but no sour dough toast. The Turkish Breakfast: The fried eggs were over cooked and cold, the waiter offered to change them, but as we had waited so long, I decided to eat and run. The spicy beef sausage was a thin slice of sujuc, thin slice of feta cheese NO TURKEY, NO HAM, NO PASTRAMI, NO TURKISH CHEDDAR CHEESE. Little finger size of cold halloumi, and the Borek was cold and tasteless. NO GRILLED PEPPER. 3 slices each of tomato and cucumber. Margarine instead of butter. I informed the waiter, that I would write an unfavourable review. I have rarely given a bad review for a cafe or restaurant, but this was inexcusably BAD.

I had English, he had pancake stack. Table wonky as it’s outside on a slope. They need to put out chocks. Food ok. Pricy for what you get.
Be the first to ReplySooo poor and dishonest
My boyfriend and I stoped here on a table outside to have a quick drink before we went for dinner. Apart for the very poor, slow and messy service, at sone point the waiter brought to every table outside Some bread and olives. Everyone thought that, considering the Mediterranean restaurant, could have been because of the local culture. Once we got the bill we’ve been charged 5 pounds for olives and nearly 3 for few slices of pita bread. With service charge it makes nearly 10 pounds for something that we’ve never requested. We’ve complained with the owner and he was taking the piss, looking like he didn’t know how it could have happened. Not refund was offered. Never again and I suggest everyone to avoid this place.

It was a busy Sunday and I realised that I was an hour early for my meeting. Time for a quick lunch. The attraction was tables in the shade. I decided to order from the set menu and started with a Meze and then spaghetti bolognaise The service was excellent and efficient. The food was well prepared and very moreish. I would certainly make time to eat here again.
Be the first to ReplySlightly off the beaten track Cafe :)
We decided we didn’t want to eat in one of the main stream restaurants near the London Palladium. So we kinda stumbled across this Cafe and thought we give it a try. The cafe was clean and the staff where polite and professional. The food was very good and certainly met with our approval. We would certainly recommend.
Be the first to ReplyGood food, friendly vibe
We enjoyed the set lunch menu and all 4 of us enjoyed our food. Portion sizes were good, food was freshly cooked and full of flavour. This is unpretencious and honest food, Ali and the crew were all friendly and service was good. Thank you
Be the first to ReplyPoor service with small portions and lacking in flavour.
I don't usually leave reviews but wanted to express my disappointment in this restaurant as I ventured to this place based on the reviews on trip advisor. Unfortunately I was left disappointed. Firstly, no one seemed to want to take our order, even though it was very quiet with only a few tables occupied . We ordered calamari for a starter which came accompanied with what I could only describe as peace of deep fried charcoal. Our drinks did not arrive until after the starters were finished and this was only because we had to remind our waitress we had not received them . The Tzatziki was a fair portion but lacked any taste . For the main I had the mixed grill which I would honestly say was the smallest mixed grill I have ever had and left me feeling still hungry. On a positive note , the lamb was succulent cooked well and very tasty, My partner had a vegetarian moussaka, the portion again was small and she described it as being tasteless. The waitresses were unfriendly and seemed disinterested. Overall a bad experience and I would not recommend this .
Be the first to ReplyFriendly West End Med
Arrived off the street on a weekday evening, by myself, to welcoming friendly service. Ordered mezze and greek salad which was authentic, delicious and well portioned. The prices are very reasonable and the atmosphere lively. The interiors are perfect blend of west end and Med. It feels familiar and cosy. It was full of friend groups and one larger group celebration. Lots of smiles all round.

Great food and good value and lovely atmosphere

40 minutes waiting time for a meal that is practically just meat to go on the grill
The Atmosphere is lovely which attracted us in but the service was not very good. We ended up waiting 40 mins sitting there waiting for our food which is mainly two grilled meat dishes. The place was full and the chef was trying but unfortunately failing meeting all the orders on time. I think they had too many people in to be able to rightfully serve. The meals came and they were below average my lamb kebab was burnt a bit. My boyfriends grill chicken salad felt like the chicken was put on a bag of supermarket salad. It was not very good. We were mistakenly charged a wrong dish as well which was a few pounds more than what we ordered and got, they were going to refund immediately but we said not to worry about it as we kind of had our fill of things going wrong. Be aware you will be charged for service on your bill but service should really get better for the charge to be fair.
Be the first to ReplyFairly good food, lovely atmosphere
Dined here early Saturday evening. The place was not busy when we arrived around 5pm but was packed within half an hour. Good Turkish cuisine but not the very best and not inexpensive but for this part of London-Soho-probably priced about right.
We enjoyed our meals. Chicken livers were lovely. My Turkish mixed grill was fine. Yes, I’ve had better Turkish food but also a lot worse. Recommended. Much better than going to a chain.
Lunch here isn't as good as it used to be
Used to come and get a chicken and halloumi salad from this place for many years and for a long time it was the best value you could get in Berwick st market - £5 for a big salad with lots of chicken and halloumi. I do appreciate hospitality has had a tough 18 months but the salad went to £6 and now sits at a pricey £7. I could accept the prise rise its just a real shame that as the price has gone up the quality of the lunch has gone down. Now for £7 you get a box that is mainly filled with salad leaves and cous cous, topped off with some dry overcooked chicken and one piece of halloumi! Its a real shame that such a good value lunch is now less tasty and more expensive, in my opinion overpriced.

As usual a great meal and made very welcome by Ali
Good value and great atmosphere
Good service
We have been coming here for over twenty years and food and service is consistantly good
Would advise you book a table
Great soho spot
Came here on a busy Saturday night and the staff were brilliant, so friendly and so tentative. They’re so quick on getting orders and all the drinks we tried were fantastic (they also have limoncello!). We tried the calamari and the meze plate and both were delicious. We were meant to move on to other bars but loved it so much here we stayed until close! Will definitely be back to try more of the food and drinks menu. Thank you for a great night!

Great friendly local restaurant. Another return to Ally’s fantastic eatery in the buzz of Soho. Outdoor seating available to enjoy an array of Turkish delights. Had a great meal and evening once again. Thank you from Scotland!
