My husband and I had the chance to dine at Moody Tongue and it was nothing short of amazing! Each dish was well crafted, creative and delicious!

It was our first time here and we didn’t even know it was a two-star Michelin restaurant. We decided to stop here under a friends recommendation and we just so happened to get there one hour before closing. They were so kind to fit us in for dinner and drinks in The Bar area. We cannot say enough how much we enjoyed the dishes and drinks we experienced. Decent prices were a surprise given its Michelin status. We had the Butter Poached Maine Lobster and the Maine Diver Scallops. So delicious! Our friends also enjoyed their meals and shared a couple flights of their IPAs. We hope to come back to experience more delicious food and drinks!

Our Granddaughter took us to the Moody Tongue (Bar side) on New Years Eve and we had a very unique dining experience with great service! The menu was eclectic with many different appetizer choices. The octopus, panetone, braised ribs, scallops, and every other dish we tried was delicious! The chocolate cake and the pinpkin cheese cake finished off a great experience! Special thanks to Chef Josh who provided help with the menu and his own special surprises!

I flew to Chicago this week for a meeting, and I managed to secure a dinner reservation at Moody Tongue Brewing Company. The food was fantastic, and yet very creative. The beer pairing was excellent, which complemented all the courses. The service was attentive without being intrusive. l. I would definitely go back for another spectacular dining experience.
Be the first to ReplyBeer Amazing. Food looks good, taste - average. Service terrible
We used the bar not the set menu. The beers were OUTSTANDING. But that's pretty much it. Our waitress arrived saying oh I ask that you order the starters and main courses together with no explanation of what the portions etc might be. While we looked over the wine list we asked to be started with at least the oysters (which is simply plate and serve !!!) she promptly insisted that we must place our order at one go. End result - we ordered more food than we needed which is what i guess was the intention - to push extra plates. The food looked beautiful and the whole fish was very good. But beyond that but honestly lacking in flavour. We had to ask for salt and pepper. But the worst was that one of the service staff while clearing a plate dropped a full glass of water and my daughters phone and legs fully drenched. He was most apologetic but our main waitress didn't even have the courtesy to say anything. She just went about her business like nothing happened. The poor guy came by twice which we really appreciated and this only showed just how disinterested our waitress was. Would go back for the beer which is amazing. But would honestly think the service staff needs more training.

In 15 courses I ate exotic foods I would not normally consider and loved every one of them! Just a spectacular experience. Have dined at many Michelin rated restaurants world wide and this might be at the top.

A week after our disappointing dinner at Next we had the Moody Tongue Dining Room experience; what a difference! 12 remarkable courses and a measly one not-so. The crew of maybe 20 diners are taken upstairs in 2 groups and seated; courses are served at the same time to all; dinner was a little over 2 hours and well paced. The courses were sizeable enough to enjoy but not so much as to be over filling. The dining room setting is a little institutional seeming but not problematic. We had one main server but several other people pitched in. Service was pleasant. We had a nice light beer to start and available all through the meal, plus each course had an accompanying pour, and most were very good and complementary; you don't have to be a beer afficianado to enjoy. 4 Seafood/fish courses start the meal, all excellent with Lobster, King Crab, Caviar featured and the black cod course masterful. An amazingly powerful Hudson Valley Foie Gras presentation with a small but intensely good portion of Foie Gras reminiscent of the best of Tru followed. An absolutely perfect Squab presentation and then a small but delicious Black Truffle Brioche. The "main" courses: a beautiful Roast Lamb Loin and a Wagyu Brisket which was like the best Barbecue ever. A small but tasty aged cheddar cheese was followed by 3 desserts: one which included a weisse beer poured over sorbet was not a favorite. You pay in advance for your experience but at the end of the night there is not presentation, attempt or request for additional compensation. Moody Tongue is a little hard to get to so allow a little extra time; best parking we founds was a few blocks away on Michigan south of 26th. Moody Tongue is a remarkable experience and should not be missed; from a food perspective it was on a 3 Michelin Star level with Le Bernardin with a broader menu.

The best dining experience I ever had was here. Please book the 14-course tasting meal. They paired different drinks with foods they make. It was mind-blowing how good this was. The foods we better than anything that I have tasted. If I could give this 10 stars, I would do that. Remember to book early and bring friends or someone that will appreciate the experience.

Chicago this place is ready for you and ready for its first Michelin star. Excellent service and ambiance...the most important part that will leave you beyond satisfied is the incredible 12 course tasting menu. The food and beer pairings are fantastic even for those of you that worry about the beer styles being served. Each pour is perfectly paired to either enhance a flavor or cut-through a strong flavor. Food presentation was stellar and there is an eager team of professionals awaiting to accommodate your every need. Price point was stellar especially based on quality of ingredients and parting gift. This place is upscale without the pretentious. Last but not least, loved the prepaid meal and tip option which allows you to experience the meal and not hang around for a “business transaction.” (Via Resy). Be sure to try this place for your next culinary endeavor. My husband and I have been to more than 25 Michelin starred locations including worlds best 3 Stars.
Be the first to ReplyGreat Craft Beer spot in Pilsen!
Amazing, inspired craft beer - I had the Caramelized Chocolate Churro Baltic Porter, what can I say, it was flavourful, intense, delicate, and simply mind-blowing -- then I had the Sliced Nectarine IPA and it may have been better. I did not have any food here but their menu looked as complex as the beer. I did some people sharing a 12 layer chocolate cake, and they were all smiles! I can understand as it looked great! I will be back for more amazing beer in the future.
