Dined here for a private Christmas party with my coworkers
Dined here for a private Christmas party with my coworkers and had such a splendid experience. We were in a private room and got to enjoy several appetizers and amazing wine - all recommended by our server (who was amazing!) I don't remember the names of everything we ate but I just know that the taste and presentation were equally impressive! I did manage to snap a photo of dessert and wow oh wow - it was basically an adult version of a caramel apple. SOOO delicious!

Navio (Sunday brunch) pre-Covid was an opulent experience when it was set as an upstanding buffet style set up. There were various options from a succulent carving board station to a caviar bar filled with all the accoutrements to a SF Chinatown level dim sum table all joined with endless desserts you can imagine.Unfortunately, gone are the days. While the food quality was at par, the experience just isn't matched. One orders two items at a time from a selected menu, not as robust with options from prior, and it is now brought out by still the polished staff to your table. It's unlimited; however, variety was a standout from yesteryears that just isn't there anymore. Is it suited for the higher price tag from pre-Covid? The increase seems all for naught. Do take heed. Now I am not a licensed food critic but I am a license driver, do take my review with a grain of sea salt.
Be the first to ReplyFor this price point, I would have expected better tastes.
Highlights:- scallops were perfectly seared, but the truffle polenta took away the scallop flavor so I've asked my second order of this without the polenta- lamb shank was cooked perfectly with a crispy exterior and medium rare interior that was flavorful and not overly salty- avocado- lobster rolls- house-made butterMeh-lights:- prawns- Benedict- wagyu steak and eggs- seasonal veggies- salmonLow lights:- oysters - ceviche was cooked fish??=
Be the first to ReplyI like buffets.
AYCE makes me happy. This is probably one of the fanciest brunch and AYCE places you can find. It isn't a traditional buffet style where you get your own food. You get 2 hours to order off their set menu where everything is freshly prepared to order. Some of the notable items include, caviar, scallops, prawns, beef tenderloin, lobster, and lamb chops. My favorites were definitely the prawns and scallops. When they say prawns - they mean prawns. Each prawn was the size of half my fist and took me 3 bites to finish. They were the plumpest, juicest, snappiest shellfish I've had. The star of the show has to be the scallops. I got 6 of them. Each scallop had a nice sear on the outside, while firm and succulent on the inside. It's complimented over super creamy truffle polenta. Can eat 20 of these. Is it worth the 200 price tag? I would easily come for a special occasion especially with the ocean views. Although you can only order 2 dishes per person each time, the food comes out relatively quick. I was able to order about 10 rounds and 22 dishes plus a dessert tower at the end.Worth.

When you first realize how much the AYCE brunch costs at Navio, your first thought is "How could this possibly be worth it?" However, after trying nearly all of their offerings, I can confidently say YES it's worth it - IF your order strategically. Upon first being seated, they will offer you a refreshing smoothie shot along with lovely looking bread and butter. Take the shot but the leave the bread and butter until the end, it's a trap! Instead, go straight to ordering as you only get two orders per person per round. The items we ordered were as follows (remember, you want to minimize carbs while maximizing the caviar and other pricey items).Flavored Oysters (4/5): The oysters themselves were fresh and sweet, personally I did not think they needed any toppings or flavoring as some of them were overwhelming.Blue Prawns (5/5): Quite possibly some of the largest, juiciest prawns I have ever eaten. This is served shrimp cocktail style which really help-ed highlight their natural flavor.Caviar (4/5): This would have been a perfect dish had they just included the sturgeon caviar instead of the other fish roe, but understandably that would've been too costly for the restaurant.Grilled Scallop (6/5): No seriously, this was easily the best dish - it would have been worth it had we just ordered this. The scallop is massive, perfectly grilled on one side, and juicy on the inside. It sat on a luxurious bed of creamed polenta that was dressed with truffle oil. This dish alone could have cost $30 alone at a restaurant.Lobster (5/5): Another hit that I just kept on ordering. The lobster is delicate, not overcooked, and paired well with the beurre blanc sauce and smoked trout caviar with just a hint of natural sweetness!Rack of Lamb (4/5): A bit on the fattier side which I like, but understandably isn't for everyone. The lamb rack was perfectly cooked like everything else and was served with mint which helped cut some of the fattiness. Filet Mignon (4/5): I would have preferred the preparation to be a bit more medium rare, but the filet remained so tender that it could be pulled apart with a fork! I'm sure they take doneness requests as well! The service here is amazing and all the wait staff were incredibly friendly. The 100th dish (yes we ordered that much), tasted just as good as the 1st and not once did they rush us - in fact our waiter even reminded us that we only needed a few more dishes to break the record :) We will definitely be back and hungrier than ever before!

In the majestic location of halfmoon bay, Navio of ritz-carlton is a hidden gem of the whole bayarea serving this life changing weekend all you can eat brunch at $200 a person. I have eaten many luxurious buffets in the past including in Vegas, Asia and Dubai, Navio's buffet is world-class with its fantastic cuisine served and mesmerizing coastal scenery. This all you can eat buffet hs a menu let you pick 2 restaurant quality dish at a time for 90 mins, and then they have a desert station bring to you at the end. Servicing is professional. Our table is directly facing the coast. Everything was perfection.
Be the first to ReplyWonderful service.
The wine pairing was excellent and the sommelier and server interactions were highlights. The steak course was a fail. The upcharge for wagyu which one of us did was not worth it. Could have skipped that dish altogether. The rest of the dishes were solid. Especially the seafood courses. Love the view.

My in-laws and husband have been raving about the legendary brunch buffet at Ritz Carlton for years, and have been here multiple times because they were in love with the food. I was excited for the experience, and it definitely did not disappoint. Service is impeccable as expected with Ritz Carlton.Reservations had to be made in advance. Paying extra for seating by the window is not worth it because there aren't many tables in the restaurant and each table has a really good view of the ocean. Everyone in the party places two orders with the waiter, and food is brought out at the same time.Must order: - Pan Seared Scallop (truffle polenta, basil oil) - Must order! The scallop was fat, juicy, and tender. My next time back at Navio, I plan on ordering 10 of these, and calling it a day.Good: - Caviar tasting (California sturgeon, smoked tout, bowfin) - Large spoonful serving sizes of each fish. The soft dough bread and cream on the side complimented nicely. I got full very quickly so I tried to maximize my stomach space by ordering this several times.- Grilled seasonal vegetables (seasonal root puree, assorted florets) - The tomatoes were the best part. They were so sweet and juicy that the rest of the dish felt more plain.- Lobster (beurre blanc, smoked trout caviar) - Very good, tender, and moist.Pass:- Classic Ceviche - Light and refreshing. Save your stomach for the big items.- Dessert Tower - Underwhelming. The tiramisu mousse was the best item but I've had better elsewhere. Everything else tasted bland in comparison.Helpful tips:- Park at the beach parking garage for free, and walk the extra two minutes to walk instead of paying for valet.- If this is your first time, get here 30-45 minutes early to explore the property, and enjoy the ocean view. People are always taking pictures in the 'backyard' area by the golf course.

4.5 stars. Went for the weekend brunch at early seating. Small plates, they bill it as "all you would like to eat within the 2-hour window". Well, they control the pace somewhat. Service was very good and attentive. Waiter went out of his way to accommodate food sensitivities. Many dishes were the stars, a few were lackluster. Oysters with 3 different flavors were great, seared scallop in "truffle polenta" also a star. Blue prawns were fresh, but sauce was a bit flat. Aquaponic salad was very good. Marin County cheese tasting was as expected but not exciting. Tenderloin very generous and delicious. Also lamb rack very good. The waffle, which I ordered plain with fresh fruit on the side was not special. The fruit was delicious though. The Wagyu beef slider had a very burned bun and should not have been sent out by the kitchen. Didn't bother to send it back since it was the last thing I ordered. Glazed salmon and lobster were decent, not stellar. Grilled vegetables very good. The desserts: where was the chocolate? Kind of stunned there was no chocolate offering. Of the 4 desserts, the pineapple upside cake was nothing. None of them wow'd me that much, but the Panna Cotta and citrus cheesecake were the best. Where was the chocolate?? Would I return? Yes, probably in a year or more.

Great food. A bit hard to make a reservations though.

Recently came here and enjoyed a 2hr brunch for $199 per person. The concept is a like a brunch buffet but you are seated and you have a server. LOL but it is all you can eat for the two hours. It was a lavish brunch. Treat you self. Minus one star for the parking situation though. You must pay $50 valet parking to access to Ritz Carlton. Fancy Schmancy. There was an extensive menu with a variety items to choose from. Ranging from brunch items like benedicts and pancakes to seafood to meat options to dessert. The server allowed us to order 2 items from the menu each time for the first one and a half hour. The last 30 minutes was the dessert portion. My fav items were oysters, scallop, and lobster. Def order two plates of reach of those. There was also caviar tasting on the menu. LUXE.Definitely a once in a lifetime experience. I would recommend coming for a special occasion and a experience.

Enjoyed a 2hr brunch for $199 per person, essentially an ayce. A very filling luxurious meal. Upscale casual. Book in advance on Tock. Got placement at the ocean front window - they even allowed us to have the window slightly opened to enjoy the fresh breeze. Even got complimentary mimosas and chocolate truffles to go at the end. Arturo was a very personable server and the service is top notch. You get a menu. 2 orders person. Savory menu for 1.5 hours and you get the last 0.5 hour enjoying an array of desserts. They had a fresh selection of seafood. From caviar tasting(sturgeon, salmon, bowfin), snow crab legs, ahi tuna, blue prawns and the must-try and must-try-again scallops. We had a cheese tasting which I mostly like for the brie. Must try again the belgian waffles, lamb chops, crab benedict and the lobsterThe salmon was decent. Needs a bit more seasoning but appreciated that it was not dry. The ceviche was also okay. Didn't really enjoy the rigatoni carbonara. Not a huge fan of the wagyu slider which was cooked too well with the pork belly too salty. The braised short rib was also salty. The earl grey panna cotta was a good start in ending our meal. The citrus cheesecake was orangey. Girlfriend liked the banana chocolate cake. The requested two pots of jasmine teas in the end was the happy ending - very flavorful, served with a strainer, netted lemon (to hold on seeds), very delicious honey. Planning to try their chocolate brunch next time!
Be the first to ReplyWe had booked for brunch.
Navio charges $240.00 just to book - which we paid. We had to change the reservation to another date and Navio charged us again to book! We paid again. After our brunch which we paid for, Navio is refusing to return the deposits made earlier. It is shocking to see an establishment like Ritz Carlton treat customers so poorly. The restaurant manager, Emmanuel was abrupt and unhelpful.Navio positions itself as a premium restaurant - certainly without any customer service from our experience
Be the first to ReplyThis is by far one of the, if not the best brunches/meals
This is by far one of the, if not the best brunches/meals I've ever had. The Ritz Carlton spared no expense making sure that those that dined at Navio had a first class-five star experience. Everything from the table setup to the service was well thought out. During the Valentine's Day brunch a reservation is a must. We were seated immediately upon arrival with a spectacular ocean view and given a small fruit smoothie, color trio of bread and butter in the shape of a red rose. The brunch beverage choices included water, juice, soda, and mimosas. Specialty cocktails and wine are available at an additional cost. That being said, I chose several gin gimlets. Now to the food...where do I begin. At the cost of $199 pp, the a la carte brunch experience is of individually plated dishes that can be ordered in any quantity during the two-hour experience. Too many items to list individually, but the the menu included fresh seafood, farmer's market inspired salads, traditional brunch favorites with a seasonal spin, prime-succulent cuts of meat, and a huge tower selection of desserts. If you're ever in the area do yourself a favor and make a reservation.
Be the first to ReplyAn experience in fine dining.
Jeff our server made us feel welcomed and took care of all the details. The meal was incredible!Every mouth watering bite brought excitement and a pallette challenge to construct in your imagination what am I enjoying? If I had to recreate any of these dishes I would definitely miss an ingredient because they were so complex! Chef Francisco Simon is a culinary genius! I have had many extravagant meals, but nothing compares to this meal. Every plate was a marriage of flavors and textures that made you excited for the next course. I have a brief description of each dish with the photos. The menu changes often so just plan to go and enjoy a phenomenal experience.
Be the first to ReplyI've been to Navio 3x now.
Twice before COVID, when it was an actual buffet, and once in 2022 for Valentine's day. My husband and I loved the buffet pre-COVID. The food was delicious and serving yourself as much caviar as you wanted was worth every penny. Now, we have to order through the waiter and the caviar servings are so small, you have to keep ordering it. Plus, it tasted like the caviar had been sitting out for awhile -- the texture was dry and sticky. YUCK.Lobster also had a strong ammonia taste to it, meaning that it's not fresh. After taking one bite, it was like I had poured chemicals into my mouth. The waiter apologized and got me another one. This second lobster also had an ammonia taste to it, but less, so I didn't want to complain again.I'd say their best dish was the ricotta blueberry pancakes and the lamb. Everything else was mediocre or didn't taste fresh. For paying almost $800, you would think it would be higher quality. Probably won't be back unless they change back to their old format. COVID's ruined so much, including Navio :(

Be the first to ReplyNow that we're well into the new year, & I'm able to look
Now that we're well into the new year, & I'm able to look back objectively, I've decided to write a review about my family's Thanksgiving Day Brunch experience at Navio. This wasn't my family's first time at Navio, but it was the first time without my father, who passed last May. There was no way my husband & I were going to host Thanksgiving Day dinner last year the way we had in previous years....no way we were going to tolerate seeing the "empty chair" at the other end of the table. We wanted to give my mother something enjoyable, & like many people, she too really loves the ocean views especially at sunset. Our previous experiences at Navio were quite positive--from its' awe inspiring location, to staff interactions, to the cuisine. So, I decided it was the best place to begin creating new happy memories. We were informed this was the first time that the restaurant was hosting a catered A La Carte style brunch for Thanksgiving. One had 2hrs to pick anything we wanted from the menu & in any order. Quite the variety, but also, pretty overwhelming if one is not accustomed to fine dining, like my mother. Hence, the four stars in my review. Our server's response to my request for guidance on where to start & how to proceed, was to "do whatever you like." I believe that at such a price point, one deserves a curated service.

Not only was the food delicious and gorgeously presented, but the people were very nice. One of the managers, Yucari, was very friendly helping us with our reservation and Chef Francisco was kind enough to come talk to us about his kitchen's dishes after dinner. And, of course, the coastal view is iconic. My wife and I highly recommend Navio.

Service was excellent as to be expected throughout Ritz Carlton. We went with the $135 prefix menu for dinner. I chose the duck and wife code ahi for the 1st course. They were good but nothing spectacular. We both got the Pacific bass on fennel with parsnip puree for the main and the was amazing. One complaint is the cutlery whick looked beautiful but was an absolute pain to eat with.
