Excellent location, services and an excellent breakfast buffet
As always, the Marriott Marquis does not disappoint. More if you pay for the included buffet breakfast. Location in the heart of Times Square, literally Plenty of fast elevators, great wifi, and quick check-in service We have been visiting it for more than 15 years, with my wife and daughter, and alone on many occasions. I think it's my favorite in the United States.
Be the first to ReplyExcellent stay for my graduation.
My best friend and I stayed at the Marriott Marquis on the night of my graduation. It was the perfect hotel for us in that it was close to Radio City Music Hall where I was graduating and close to Port Authority, where I traveled in and out of to head home. Because my best friend is a Platinum member we got a room on a higher floor and the front desk gave us a room over looking Times Square and One Times Square where the ball drops on New Yearโs Eve. It would have been the perfect New Yearโs Eve room. The room was nice sized, clean as a whistle and the beds were extremely comfortable. The only complaint I had about the room was that the pillows were a little too firm and they did not have any of the softer pillows in the room. That was very minor. The rest of the time in the room was excellent. The next morning we were able to use Club M, the private room for higher point members where we had the buffet breakfast, which was excellent. The selection of breakfast dishes were wonderful. The bacon and sausage and the tiny egg quiches were delicious. The fresh fruit and the pastries were excellent as well. The staff here could not have been nicer and even the front desk staff when I dropped off the key were so accommodating. They were even describing a weekend package we could enjoy in the future. I thought that was very nice. Overall it was excellent stay.

The Marriott Marquis in New York City was an absolute disappointment from start to finish. Upon arrival, we were greeted by icy stares at the front desk, where communication seemed to be a foreign concept. It felt like they were more interested in rushing us out than ensuring a pleasant stay. The representatives spoke about customers as if they were mere cattle, with no regard for basic courtesy. To make matters worse, the room we were given was a nightmare. It was a connecting room on both sides, resulting in incessant noise from the outside and the neighboring room, making it impossible to get a decent night's sleep. The state of the room was appalling โ it was dirty, dilapidated, and overall repulsive. The glasses provided were still smeared with who knows what, highlighting the lack of cleanliness and attention to detail. Basic amenities like shower caps and sewing kits were treated as precious commodities that we had to practically beg for. Despite requesting them four times, they were only provided after expressing visible frustration. Even then, the shower caps were missing upon arrival, requiring another trip back to reception to retrieve them. It's unacceptable to have to fight for basic necessities in a supposedly reputable establishment. The dining experience was no better. The restaurant served overpriced, subpar food that was a far cry from the quality expected from the Marriott brand. For the amount we paid and the reputation associated with Marriott, the quality of the food was downright insulting. As someone who frequently travels and stays in Marriott properties around the world, I can confidently say that this was the worst lodging experience I've ever had. The Marriott Marquis in New York City is a disgrace to the brand. The only redeeming factor is its location, but even that doesn't justify the dismal conditions. I'd sooner opt for a Motel 6 over this nightmare of a hotel.
Be the first to ReplyNice location, staff is hot or miss, a lot of arrogance
I am sad to rate them โ3 starsโ. Nice location, nice hotel with pretty large and modern rooms. Unfortunately the front desk staff arrogance significantly contributed to my not so good impression. I was told many times there were convention hotel, and yes I was here for a conference. Well there performance as it goes to conference services was well below the average. On positive note- nice room, staff at the M Club was, in sharp contrast to the reception staff, very friendly, helpful and offering great service thank you for that, as it reminded me, why I have been loyal to Marriott. Also they have nice and well equipped gym on 23rd floor.
Be the first to ReplyAbove The Fray in Times Square
This is a gigantic hotel around the corner from Times Square. Once youโre inside though you lose that sense that youโre in a small town (2000+ rooms) dropped in the midst of a huge city. Service is fast and friendly from the front desk to the restaurant to the travel office. Our room on the 21st floor overlooked the busy street scene below including the stories-high LED billboards. Black out drapes were invaluable. The room is huge by any standards with a pullout sofa and king bed. Clean, bright and welcoming. We loved our two-night stay and will definitely stay here again.
Be the first to ReplyGreat hotel experience
Had a wonderful time. Everyone was nice and helpful. Very lively place. Great vibe. The room was lovely. The amenities were fabulous. We had a post-show cheese plate and drinks, and they were all delicious. We plan to stay there again soon!!
Be the first to ReplyAmazing location and view on Timesquare
Amazing! It was our first time in New York Timesquare for the Vietnam Lunar New Year. We book a room with direct view on Timesquare and the reception was kind to reserve for us the best-view room as we wish. Everything is just perfect with the view. We enjoyed the complementary voucher for dinner, the gym club very much. Needless to say, checkout and checkin are very convient although there are a huge crowd everyday at Marquis. So far our best stay in Timesquare New York.

Great room, clean, comfortable. Food good but expensive. Second trip. Libby 8 th floor. Large tv, couch, 2 beds. Mini fridge. Very busy area and a bit noise heard late at night. Modern elevators. โ- ffffjjjkklllllssdj I it o p ko lllm Nik po. Try we. We as

Located in the heart of NYC, on Times Square. The right place. Well soundproofed, don't forget to draw the curtains because it shines all night long. The rooms are spacious and well maintained. Buffet breakfast at more than 40 dollars for big eaters, or a la carte allow 25 dollars. For the rest, nothing to complain about, the service is friendly and efficient, the bar is pleasant, although a little noisy. Don't forget that in NYC everything is XXL, so it's crowded and prices are quite high!
Be the first to ReplySplurge on New York City
Ideal for being close to theatres and the hub of mid town. As a Marriott platinum member we had access to the executive lounge and an upgraded room. We were given the choice of a corner suite or Times Square view. We opted for the larger room. Service was friendly and professional. Breakfast buffet abundant and the exec lounge spacious. Definitely a splurge but well worth it for a special treat.
Be the first to ReplyVery good
Nice hotel in the middle of Times Square. We were worried that it would be so noisy from both the hotel guests inside and all the traffic and activity outside but we were pleasantly surprised how little you could hear at night and we enjoyed a good nightโs sleep every night we were there (6 nights). We were on the 23rd floor. Really disappointed the restaurant on the top floor was closed for renovation as that was one of the reasons we booked in the first place. The other restaurants (Broadway Lounge and Rye) are a bit confusing as they are flagged as being 2 separate restaurants but they both serve the same food and drink and are essentially the same restaurant other than slightly different seating areas. The food is reasonably priced but the drinks are very expensive it I suppose it is Times Square. Very nice hotel and we didnโt encounter any issues. The beds are lovely and comfy, lots of different pillows so hopefully you get one you like, they come in and clean every day (Iโve seem some reviews saying the hotel is dirty but that wasnโt my experience; it was lovely and clean) and overall a good hotel base.
Be the first to ReplyDirty hotel!!!!!! Gross!!!!!!
Dirtiest hotel in NYC! Checked in 10โhours ago, called down to guest services to clean my room 3 times which is full of hair in the bathroom, carpet full of dirt and past guests stuff, and gross stuff on the nightstands. Looking at carpet now and it looks like the floor of penn station. Problem is that I called 3 times and nobody did anything to fix the problem. There is really no difference from spending the night at this hotel or sleeping at penn station for the night. I just called the front desk againโฆ.no help or housekeeping sent up. Do not stay at this hotel if you donโt want to be grossed out from the past guest dirt and stuff in the room. Dirty hotel!!!!!!!
Be the first to ReplyGreat location, large rooms.
This hotel is in a great location for sightseeing in Times Square and midtown Manhattan. Of course, there are lots of options for transportation to locations in upper and lower Manhattan as well. Rooms are large and well-equipped by NYC standards. Hotel is well-maintained and has good security. The restaurants/bar are very convenient, as well as the Starbucks on the ground floor and the quick serve bakery/deli (with Starbucks coffee) located in the gift shop on the 8th floor. The housekeeping of our room was top-notch. We really enjoyed our stay.
Be the first to ReplyNice location, well known hotel but it's a very old property.
This was just a one night stay, and they have some very nice staff and amenities, but this place really needs some work. I know NYC is expensive, but for $460 there are some things I shouldn't have had to deal with that I did. Check in was easy, relatively speaking but I got to my room and the card provided didn't open the door (neither key worked). I called from a house phone, as I was under an urgent time crunch to get in the room and make a meeting online, but no one answered. I went back to the line and the person whose only job seems to be to direct traffic to a line 2 feet in front of me, essentially didn't care at all and told me I had to get back in line, which was now 10 deep. Interestingly enough, there were two others in front of me who had the same issue. 8-10 minutes later, I did make it up to my room. The room was very nice, and I was barely able to make my meeting. An hour later, I had a dinner to attend, and wanted to put things in the safe. I followed the instructions, but when I double checked the combination, the door was stuck shut and wouldn't open. Now in full panic mode, I did call from my room and someone was able to come up in 5 minutes (which was very nice) and get the stuck door to open. He told me I could use the safe, but I just laughed and said "thanks but no thanks". He said many of these have to be replaced, much like a lot of things in this hotel. Sleeping later that night is very tricky and I wish I had brought my white noise machine as the ear plugs I had were no match for Times Square on a Tuesday night. I may have slept 5-6 hrs due to the noise and constant horn blowing, which is a NYC tradition. In the morning I went to use the gym, which had a lot of equipment, but unfortunately the rowing machine shown in their photos was nowhere to be found. They had a different option, but not what I was looking for. They do have two peloton bikes, but only one was working. Not optimal, but it happens. There was no employee at the desk to ask questions to, so I just did what I could in 45 minutes and was on my way to breakfast. The hotel charges you 40 a night for something (it's a ridiculous charge candidly) plus tax, so they encourage you to eat breakfast in the hotel because you are getting charged the $48 regardless. Unfortunately, the line for breakfast at the only place that would honor the charge was 15 deep at 10:20am, and with checkout time at 11, I was running out of options. Fortunately the service, once seated was outstanding, and so I ordered french toast (3 half slices), bacon (4 nice slices) and a fruit cup, which came out to $38 before tip. My goodness. NYC is expensive, but that is ridiculous. Checkout was easy, and I found that I had paid the bill other than the $48 three weeks ago, so it wasn't as painful as it might be otherwise. Nice place, in a good location but it really needs a lot of work in some areas.

Pleasant welcome, the rest is deplorable. At the bar I pay for my consumption by credit card, the waiter leaves with my card in a reserve, he comes back and informs me that to cash my bill I need the bank card pin code. Honestly, who is he going to make believe this? A most dismal luggage storage service, aggressive staff. A shame !!!
Be the first to ReplyDream Hotel Experience Come Trueee!
Staying at the Marriott Marquis New York was an absolute dream come true! Having seen this iconic hotel everywhere, my expectations were highโand I'm delighted to say they were exceeded in every way. The location couldn't have been better, right in the heart of Times Square. Being surrounded by New York's vibrant energy was exhilarating. What made my visit truly unforgettable was the included New York attraction experience. The opportunity to visit the American Museum of Natural History and enjoy a free cruise tour to see the Statue of Liberty was incredible! It's an experience that's hard to move on from </3 The hotel staff were exceptionalโwarm, welcoming, and always ready to assist. From check-in to check-out, everything was seamless. I will definitely come back!!! <3
Be the first to ReplyGreat location and helpful concierge
Check-in: Separate line for Elite Bon Voy members to save time. We appreciated the warm welcome and was assigned a room on higher floor with view of Times Square. Concierge: Tom was extremely helpful in assisting my family prepare our itinerary for the 2 days we were in the city. He helped us with grouping our activities by location, and giving us tips on to use the subway. He made a huge difference on this trip. Location: Heart of Times Square and across from many theaters! It is a busy area but we loved the energy as first time visitors. The subway station was 5-10 mins walking distance. Like any big city, best to be aware of your surroundings. Room: Larger than average NYC rooms which is why we selected this hotel. Clean and we loved the view.
Be the first to ReplyDestination fee is an extra "upcharge" that is you don't expect or understand, so beware!
First of all, the walls are paper thin. We should be charged $400 a night to hear our neighbors talk, snore, or their cell phone alarm go off in the morning. BEWARE of the "destination fee" process! When you book, it is noted that you will owe roughly $34/day as a "destination fee". When you arrive, they hand you a little card and say that you can have up to $40 to spend in the hotel at restaurant, gift, shop. They make it sound like a gift/freebie that will be charged to your room and then cancelled out (i.e. to cover a sort of continental breakfast you would expect at a hotel). Well, no, it is $40 plus $5 tax per day charged to your room whether you use it or not. When you go to breakfast to "use" the $40, the buffet is $42 and it is per person not per room. If you go over $40 it is charged extra to your room, plus tax. And it is NOT cumulative, so if you don't spend $40 on one day you cannot use it towards the total. Even the hotel rep checking us out said it is a "controversial" process that hotels are doing, and that news channels are covering it as such.
Be the first to ReplyPat and Sue Stole the Show
The hotel location is sick! You walk out into Time Square and the life of the city. Pat and Sue made the stay wonderfundal! They checked me and my team in and made check in seamless. The check in line was super long so they took all 8 of us at once....AMAZING! Pat and Sue's smiles stole the show! We felt their smiles when they smiled at us:). They explained the layout of the hotel and made our long day of travel worth it. Keep smiling Pat!! Keep smiling Sue!! The elevator situation is a bit sad. There are over 30 floors and you have to use your hotel key to find which elevator goes to your floor. The wait is not great. If you have to get back to your room quickly, it just isn't going to happen. The Concierge desk was friendly and knowledgeable. My room had a spectacular view out to Time Square and you could see the Hudson! The space for Innovative School Summit was very nice. The refreshments during the conference was a nice feature.
Be the first to ReplyBeautiful hotel in the heart of Times Square
We visit this hotel every year in December to experience Christmas in NYC. Itโs always so beautifully decorated. Comfortable rooms, good service. Itโs always busy but the staff is friendly. We eat at the restaurant in the main lobby and enjoy drinks at the bar.
Be the first to ReplyYou can have it all with this hotel--Glitz but a sanctuary for quiet in one's own room
Right in the middle of Times Square and the Broadway Shows, this hotel exudes energy with bustling crowds, lots of glitz, and views of the frenetic outdoor scenes. Yet the rooms and hallways can be quiet (except when you're given a room that has a door to an adjoining room which can be noisy). Housekeeping was excellent, and personnel very friendly.

Great central location clean and comfortable although the beds in our room were only doubles. On our interaction with the reception staff they were a little rude and unhelpful and gave us a different answer when we asked three different people the same question.
Be the first to ReplyGreat position!
Great position in Times Square - close to everything! Rooms are huge with stunning views! Large hotel with plenty of amenities. Large dining area and a gym. Breakfast menu was great! Apparently it's fantastic for New Years Eve - they have a party for guests (payable) - min stay is two nights for the NY.

This is our 3rd time at the Marriott marquis. My kids refuse to stay anywhere else as we always get great service. The rooms are impeccably clean ( I am ocd when it comes to hotel rooms) this place never disappoints me. The cleaning team does a great job! The elevators are the highlight for my kids! I had messaged the staff about an event for one of my kids and we walked in to a very sweet note along with a box of goodies. Thank you and we will be forever be Marriott marquis members.
Be the first to ReplyNo service after midnight. It caused mental anxiety, physical pain and stress. Not a holiday you pay for.
- No room service after midnight. - We asked for adjacent rooms, we were told the system cannot change bookings. - No welcome note in the room. - No free water. - No Free Wifi 16$ daily. - No personalized message on your tv screen. - Shower start cold before getting to warm - No bidet. - They offer 3 kinds of Water dispenser in the lobby with lime, cucumber or lemonโdonโt drink it, caused us a day of going to the toilet multiple times. - The Guards in the ground floor, demand for your key cards even with so much shopping bags in your hands just to enter the lift. But wonโt bother to help you with your things. - Smokers greet you as you exit the hotel. Since marijuana is legal in the city, it smells so bad it will make your clothes stink. - Considering their clients are from all over the world No halal meals offered, no Asian cuisine.
