Great food, ambiance and service!
I was in New York in February on a gastronomic trip. My daughter booked a cabaña in the Terrace, which had a heater inside, a large table for 6-8 people, and lots of sunshine through the glass surrounding you. You pay an extra $30 for the privacy, but it's totally worth it! We all ordered the $159 five-course tasting menu (Sunday brunch), and it was delicious! We were especially impressed with the egg toast/(LOTS of) caviar/herbs, the tuna tartare and the beef tenderloin (super tender!). Talking about the beef... my daughter is allergic to tree nuts, and we notified the staff about this, but still, the chef forgot that the pepper crusted beef contained pistachio. My daughter had a mild reaction (thank goodness she had a tiny bite only) and drank lots of water to wash it down. The waitress and the manager were very apologetic about the mishap and kindly offered to re-do the beef. My daughter declined - she felt quite full already. Aside from that incident, we had a wonderful time - the food, the ambiance and the service were great. I will certainly go back next time I visit New York! To my surprise, when the check came, I noticed they did not charge my daughter's share of the meal. That was totally unexpected and very gracious and generous of the restaurant. It tells volumes about their excellent service!
Be the first to ReplyNice for a one time visit, but not for a repeat.
The service was outstanding, the tables well spaced, the ambiance clean and modern. We stayed well past the average meal length and no one pushed us to leave. Some of the food was delicious: the amuse bouche were all excellent and the butternut squash soup was outstanding (wish it had been bigger, though). Also, the burrata with lemon curd was interesting. The downside was the calamari. It was a big disappointment--mushy, not terribly flavorful and not hot enough when it came to the table. Overall, it was a pleasant evening and I liked that it had the feeling of a local hangout. But given all the great restaurants in NYC (and my dislike of it being in a Trump building), I wouldn't choose to go again.

Although a prior meal here was excellent, a recent meal was not. Health issue: A pasta dish came covered with cheese (not requested, not in menu description) and the waiter acknowledged that the "meatballs" contained cheese too. Dangerous for the allergic and lactose-intolerant. The dish was replaced and the maitre d" said the menu would be updated. Quality: A half-bottle of champagne was lacking in mousse (bubbles). It had NOT been uncorked at the table. The sommelier said it was a style and offered a glass of prosecco. I think it was de-pressurized (run out of gas). Wait: Three requests to obtain some rolls. This restaurant is coasting on it reputation . It has Lots to Improve.
Be the first to ReplyDisappointing Breakfast
Took an age for the food to come and when it did the eggs were stone cold. Really expected better from this type of restaurant.
Be the first to ReplyHow disappointing
Over decades we have visited nougatine and enjoyed it. Alas. Tonight boring bread drear amuse bouches and an endive salad with no endive and dreadful leafs. So sad.. What has happened?

Located at street level in the Internal Trump Tower. There are two restaurants. One is Jean George a Michelin star on the back. And the more casual but still highly sophisticated front restaurant. Service and food are spot on. However be prepared to pay some $$ , for the opportunity to dine. But it is worth it all. Caviar. Fish. Steak. Italian all very good.

Fantastic service. Spectacular cuisine. Every dish was to be enjoyed. We all slowed down to further live in the moment of culinary perfection. All four of us did the Tasting Menu. We were not disappointed. God! The egg caviar was simply divine!!! The wait staff were wonderfully trained and worked likeminded. The French Burgundy wine perfectly set the palate for dining delight. The Sommelier was very helpful and knowledgeable. We can’t wait to return.
Be the first to Reply$38 prix fixe GONE!
Beware! This outlet of Jean Georges NO LONGER has a bargain lunchtime prix fixe! The $38 prix fixe has been replaced with a $159 tasting menu which might be something to consider for dinner, but rather excessive for lunch. The room remains quietly luxurious and the service top-notch.
Be the first to ReplyGreat ambience delicious food
Beautiful space and ambience. Tables are not on top of each other. We went to the informal size and the service was excellent, and food casual but delicious. I had a watermelon feta salad and a lobster burger. I recommend both
Be the first to ReplyFlies in food and drinks, slow service
Second time at Nougatine. First time was in July 2020 when food was served in plastic boxes due to the restaurant’s interpretation of safety standards. Anyway, cutlery and plates are back, but the quality of food was just average. Service was non existent (waitress disappeared for 40 minutes just as we were trying to ask for check). My dish was continuously attacked by small flies but when I pointed this out to the staff they just shrugged their shoulders. The price absolutely does not justify the experience and the quality of food.
Be the first to ReplyHugely Overrated
Thoroughly disappointed with this bland establishment. You could be in any city in the world. service was slapdash… food was good but unremarkable… I had a filet steak that was only 5oz and $62…weight not advertised on the menu. All in all this place that is in the trump hotel is in line with the owner and all show with zero substance.
Be the first to ReplySophisticated Stop
Early morning breakfast was lovely in the sophisticated dining room located in Trump International (if that makes a difference to you). Nice service, quality ingredients. Price is for atmosphere not necessarily the food.
Be the first to ReplyNot as upscale as expected.
Not 5 star treatment While staying at trump tower, breakfast is included at this restaurant (meaning they are paid by the hotel). When I arrived for my breakfast reservation with a cup of coffee from my room, I was told that no outside beverages are allowed and was told to finish it before I would be allowed in. I explained that it was from the hotel and was told that the restaurant is “separate.” Certainly not the end of the world, but also not a first class experience, as it should be.

The food was 4 but the service was 2. We set in the terrace and the waiter was either away and in the rare event that he showed up rude and impatient. Best dish was the desert
Be the first to ReplyGreat food, disappointing service
Not a great experience, a bit disappointing. I booked for 5 through Resy 2 weeks in advance, confirming with my credit card details. 2 days before I was asked to fill an additional module and provide again my card details, because 5 is a "group" according to their policy. Being travelling I could not print and scan, so I had to go personally to confirm. They did not care even if I was in Trump hotel (same building, common entrance). The evening of the dinner, we had a small round table for 5 that would have been hardly ok for 3. Groups of 4 were in bigger tables than us. The service was smooth, even surprisingly fast, until before the main course; then it was incredibly stuck for almost one hour with no food, and another 30 min for dessert. It took us from 8.45 to 12.00 to complete our dinner! No discount was offered, just one dessert that we did not order. Bill was clearly in line with the super high standard of the restaurant (way more than 150 p.p.) Food was impeccable, great quality, great cooking, top standard. According to our personal taste, a bit too spicy and too "Asian" in some flavours, but it's really only personal preference.
Be the first to ReplyShrimp Salad is Great
Nougatine is close to the Mandarin Oriental where we stayed. The restaurant is beautiful with good service and some nicely casual menu offerings. Unfortunately, between the four of us, only the warm shrimp salad (butter poached?) was exceptional. My black sea bass was very average- wouldn't get it again. The french fries at a nearby table looked and smelled great. I would consider eating here again but would not rush back.
Be the first to ReplyLovely food, service mediocre
The food here was lovely, definitely try the tasting menu. What I did not care for was the fact that almost $40 of desserts were added to the bill and called by the waiter a “clerical error”. Waiter also did not explain the dishes and there was the ever present attitude you get when you don’t order alcohol. I also got food poisoning but had it from another day and the rich food may have exacerbated it!
Be the first to ReplyNice and different than expected
The place is beautiful
The expectation were very high
Food was good but some what underwhelming
The caviar dish is amazing
The tenderloin was not quite A5 so surprise
The soufflé was different
The cost was reasonable
Worst treatment of NYC!!!!
The food is ok, but the treatment they give to the customers are terrible, they treat everybody as they don’t want you there, don’t spend your time here!!! I’ll put this on the media with movies that i record!!!
Be the first to ReplyCouldn't get into Jean-Georges(this time), but still wonderful
Jean-Georges was fully book for the days that we were going to be in the City. But we did get in at Nougatine, dining outside on the terrace, which luck for us the temperature was still nice & not cold. Service was excellent.
We had the prix fixe dinner for $298/couple. The Egg Toast with Caviar and Herbs ($78 if ala carte) was absolutely fantastic! The Tuna Tartare was also extraordinary. The Black Sea bass with Bliss Potatoes, Leeks and Guajillo Chili Vinaigrette ($44 if ala carte) was also special. The warm chocolate cake with vanilla icream was very good, and the Concord Grape Tart with Grape Sorbet and Pistachio Ice Cream was also very different and good.
The sommelier was excellent and personable, as were our staff. If we can't get into Jean-George, this is an excellent alternative.
View of the park
Despite it being a wet Sunday we were able to sit out inThe Terrace and enjoy a causal lunch. The service was excellent and not pushy or rushed. The lobster salad was of course excellent as was the peach pie. Have not been here in several years but pleased to know the place survived!
Be the first to Reply2 Michelin star. Really?
2 Michelin star. Really? $50 sanitation fee!
My husband and I so looked forward to eating at this 2 Michelin star restaurant. It was going to be a treat and a diversion during this pandemic. Instead, it was a big disappointment.
We ordered foie gras. It was heavenly! The only item deserving a 2 Michelin star. We hoped the rest of the meal to be as good. Sadly it wasn't. I ordered a $26! cheeseburger. I expected it to have trimmings and delicious additions. None. It was pedestrian. Fries came in a recycled paper box. I ate better cheeseburgers at the counter for far less. My husband ordered sea bass. We asked in advance if it was spicy. They said it wasn't. It was! For dessert my husband ordered a passion fruit soufflé. Very tasty and original. Maybe one Michelin star. I ordered fudge ice cream. It tasted like ice. I left it on the dish.
We ate at a heated tent outside, as New York does not allow indoor dining due to the pandemic. We got a bill with a whopping $50 SANITATION FEE. Not sure what that was for.
The service was very good and attentive. The staff is overextended going from tent to tent (5 total) during the rain. All in all this was a very disappointing experience, not worthy of the 2 Michelin star, the $50 Sanitation Fee nor the $240 check. I'm not sure how Michelin assigns the stars. I'd be curious to know! This was the first and last time we visited this restaurant. I wouldn't recommend it.
Highly Recommend
Saturday Brunch was well presented and extremely good value.
It's has an airy, contemporary, sophisticated feel that looks out to the Park corner.
Pancakes for me, Eggs Benedict for the wife, and 2x alcohol-free cocktails. $67 + tip ($80) is excellent for the location and service.
Waiter was polite and professional. All staff were friendly.
Sheer elegance on the Park
with windows facing Central Park this restaurant provides excellent service and food. The staff is welcoming and knowledgeable and the food is superb. Get the cuisine of Jean Georges at more modest prices

Enjoyed a lovely lunch with friends at Nougatine.
I frequent French restaurants in NYC and DC and Nougatine was excellent. I’ll be back.
