This was a fun experience while shopping at grand bazar.
Table side presentations and laid back, but beautiful atmosphere. We loved the Spoon salad with tomatoes, cucumbers and walnuts. Baklava with ice cream was out of this world!
Eating at the NUSR โ ET is a real delight as I look forward to my next trip to Istanbul...
The NUSR โ ET Steakhouse Sandal Bedesteni is a fantastic restaurant found in the famous Grand Bazaar of Old Istanbul. We have selected NUSR โ ET on each of last four trips to Istanbul as it is simply a very unique and has unbelievable tasting food! Again, on this trip to Istanbul we had a great tasting lunch at NUSR โ ET! As usual, the NUSR โ ET was quite crowded, yet we were able to find an open table for two. My wife had one of the meat plates, which she said โmelted-in-her mouth.โ I selected the fresh Avocado Saled and two side dishes, the first a great Baked Onion and the other was a nice dish of fresh Mushrooms. I ordered a glass of great tasting 2023 Quartz Fumรฉ a Bulgarian White Wine that used the Sauvignon Blacc grape. Eating at the NUSR โ ET is a real delight as I look forward to my next trip to Istanbul. Trust me as I feel that you will also enjoy the NUSR โ ET Steakhouse Sandal Bedesteni as much as I have over the past few years!
Interesting steakhouse for sure
Quick seating experience with a good view of the preparation area. Mozzarella sticks were beautiful as a starter. Steak was a little on the small size even for a fillet mignon and they somehow managed to cook my friends rare steak as medium to well done! Not sure how that is possible in a steakhouse?! They offered to pay for a dessert for free as a result so we ordered the baklava. The showmanship when it was delivered was good fun and it tasted amazing. Problem was it was on the bill when we requested it! Not a bad steakhouse but certainly not the best either.
Love this restaurant! Have the steak sushi โค๏ธ
The steak sushi appetizer here is one of the best bites Iโve had, anywhere. The entire meal was great, and the service and presentation are fun, but I dream of that perfect bite. It was so good we went back the next night, our last in Istanbul. And Iโve made note of their US locations, will definitely visit next time Iโm in New York or LA!
Never again
Horrible service. We ended up setting the table and plates and everything ourselves. Everything takes ages to come They expect you to know who does who so if you want anything, order or like a fork, you have to run around and ask everybody and find the right person yourself. The food was good but the total experience was dreadful. And they clean the table while you are eating.
Food: We tried Beef Steak Burger.
But pieces of bun were too roosted. It should be juicy. Service: Service very good with good discipline. Good number of waiters. Ambiance: Wonderful decoration with Ottoman designs building.
Overhyped .
A good experience for sure with the meat quality and service. Ambience is good. I did find hard to communicate with the server.
We order the special steak .
It was cooked in a hot plate with butter and the seasoned with salt. It was okay. A bit hyped up. Service was okay. Some of the wait staff was helpful while some were not. Ambiance is nice. It is inside the grand central bazaar.
Overpriced menu with arrogant service and a terrible
Overpriced menu with arrogant service and a terrible customer service. The food di meet up the overprice steaks. We waited 10 minutes to get our table. We were slapped with a QR code and no one bothered to take our order. The place was overcrowded with families and children. Eventhough the pla was crowded with servants no one paid any attention
First off i am loving the aesthetics of the reastraunt.
Its in the Grand Bazzar which i think is very cool. Me and my family of 5 came to eat here and we all loved and enjoyed the expierence. The staff and service was amazing and they are already had an amazing suprize waiting for us. The food was amazing because we got a tomohawk that was able to feed 3 people. My wife and my daughter had a New York Strip and that was amazing for them. The experience was amazing and rhey cooked our tomohawk cooked in front of us. Yesterday we had steaks and today we are having burgers and that expierence was also outstanding with great experiences, food, staff, and management of space. we literally just walked in and they seated us. The dessert was baklava and this dark chocolate cake. The guy grabed a baklava slice and kept shoving it in my sons face and that was so funny. It was some of the best buklava and chocolate cake I have ever has in my life. -Thank you Nusr-et for this wonderful food and epierence. Also respect to Salt Bea for him crating the food. RESPECT!!!
So this is a tough one.
First off location is super cool, in the grand bazaar. It's a big open beautiful space. Service is also good - but because it's so busy it's hard to really get a ton of attention. We made an 8:45 res for two on a weekday. We got there early at 8:30. There was a very long line and we ended up getting seated at 9. I guess people don't make ressies on open table before coming. Ok so for the food. Goat cheese salad. It was ok. I hate bean sprouts. Didn't realize it was in the salad. 3/5 Nusr-et burger. The meat was cooked well for me, but I split it with my wife and half of her half was very very undercooked. I enjoyed the flavor of the beef, but didn't care for the addition of the pastrami (or whatever it was) on it. 2/5 Lokum burger. First, I'd argue this is not a burger. It's a steak sandwich. lol. I liked this alot. Flavor was good. Meat was cooked perfectly. 4/5 Lamb chops. This is where the meal really stood out. Loved them. For a guy being known as "Salt bae" - they did need salt though. 4/5 We didn't opt for dessert because we were so full. We have a Nusr-et in LA near home. I have refused to go there because the pricing is insane. The pricing here is probably considered high for Turkey, but for the US it's a fraction of the LA cost.
Some solid steak options.
Defiantly enjoyed the ambiance and the showmanship of the servers. I will however say I've had better steak... The sauces were good. Really enjoyed the garlic may and truffle mayo. Went once for the novelty probably cannot justify returning at this price point.
I was visiting Istanbul from the USA and had to try Salt
I was visiting Istanbul from the USA and had to try Salt Bae's restaurant in his home country. This isn't his original restaurant. It is one of I think 3 nusr-ets in Istanbul. This restaurant is located in Faith, Istanbul one of the oldest areas of civilization in the world. It's located in the Grand Bazaar area where there are lots of street vendors and tourists. The restaurant is situated in a historic building, built in the 17th century I believe. We came here for lunch without a reservation and was seated right away. It wasn't busy at the time. The hostess was pleasant and accommodating. The restaurant is very nice, with huge chandeliers hanging from very high historic curved ceilings. The restaurant decor and building is upscale. But, I wouldn't classify it as fine dining or near fine dining because, there is what I believe is mustard stored in a covered container on the tables with a spoon for all guests to use like you would find in a diner. They brought out plastic large bottles of Heinz mustard and ketchup with the dinner, when dishes are ready to be served the kitchen rings a bell that the whole restaurant can hear and is also visible because the grill area is adjacent to the tables. When, the dishes weee served, the food runner asked who ordered what. I ordered the filet and it was just a regular filet. The staff was pleasant. The staff did slice the steak and sprinkle salt like salt bae. I think it could be worth trying just to say you've experienced it. Also, the prices in Istanbul are way more reasonable than in the USA. My filet which weighed 200g cost about $38 US dollars.
I was looking forward to this meal for weeks leading up to
I was looking forward to this meal for weeks leading up to the trip to Istanbul and to be completely honest it was the worst meal I had on the entire trip. Visiting another country has its differences, but I had no idea how gamey the beef would be. Gave me my fair share of stomach issues that night. The restaurant itself is nice enough, located at the famous Grand Bazaar. Lots on the menu to try but I wouldn't get your hopes up. There are so many better places in Istanbul. Go here if you want to check it off the list, but don't get the burger under any circumstances. I can't really recommend anything here because none of us liked anything we got. Great location though!
