Ultime Perfection in Fine Dining
Amazing dining experience at 3 Michelin Star Odette Restaurant in Singapore. This was absolute perfection in fine dining, from immaculate prepared dishes to delicate service this was one of the best dining experiences of our lifetime. After having dined at over 100 Michelin-Starred venues, mostly in Europe and Asia, Odette is easily ranked as our Top 5 favorite. Kudos to Chef Julien Royer and his marvelous staff. They are simply unique in having created a heavenly dining experience. Thank you so much for making our dinner a very special one. We look forward to our return. Be the first to ReplyHuge disappointment
Totally over rated. We were brought to a table that seems to be an extension of the main dining hall. Main dining hall was elegantly furnished with dark ambient mood lighting. The extension was plainly draped in beige with plain typical down lighting, far brighter, more like a waiting room. Service was non inspiring. The maitre d’ was polite…. that’s it. Her welcoming note and summary of the upcoming gastronomic itinerary was more robotic than engaging. The sommelier and wait staff throughout the course of the dinner exudes the same aura as the maitre d’. There was this 1 wait staff who was rambling the description of the dish at the speed of sound, couldn’t make out what that dish was. Hors d oeuvres was tantalizing. Had extra cheese, truffle and wine. Main dish of pigeon confit was not as succulent as expected. Needless to say, all portions were small. Overall gastronomic experience was a disappointment. To finish the gloom, we paid $2100 for me and my husband celebrating our 21st wedding anniversary. Overall experience is not worth the price tag, huge disappointment.

The welcome snacks were decent, but nothing outstanding. The donut seemed average and greasy, while the impromptu shrimp taco was good, and the onion tart was delightful. The following appetizer, mushroom tea - a mushroom soup infused with truffle, offered a rich and dense mushroom broth with the essence of truffle - was delicious, akin to immersing oneself in a forest basket full of mushrooms. The first course composed of sea urchin caviar and black caviar with mousse and shrimp. Since I initially warned that I did not like sea urchin caviar, they replaced the dish from black caviar to crab accompanied by apple and avocado. The crab taste was overshadowed by the apples, making it an inadequate substitute for black caviar in both price and flavor. I told the waiter about this, he offered to bring me this dish with caviar, but then he conveniently forgot about me. Their renowned signature egg dish, featuring yolk, potato mousse, and chorizo, presented a good blend of raw yolk with salty chorizo and soft potatoes. However, the inadequate amount of chorizo left one with only a regular yolk in the end, which was rather disappointing. For an additional $100, my husband upgraded the dish to langoustines with truffle generously sprinkled, creating a delicious and harmonious blend of flavors. It seems that to enjoy something truly tasty at this restaurant, one must be prepared to pay extra. The fish crudo course with dill received no complaints, while the scallop with chicory was flavorful but somewhat simplistic, not quite fitting for a three-star establishment. Now, onto the most disappointing aspect - the main signature dish. The medium-rare roasted pigeon had a peculiar taste reminiscent of offal, with a slightly strange smell. This type of meat may not appeal to everyone, making its presence on the menu somewhat odd. We expressed our dissatisfaction with the dish to the waiter. We were offered chicken as a replacement, which turned out to be simple chicken sous vide lacking any distinctive flavor or complexity. At $490 on the menu, this dish felt uninspired. The waiter suggested an alternative - foie gras with abalone broth, which proved more intriguing than the previous dishes but failed to deliver a phenomenal taste. Visiting a restaurant with a three-star rating, we expected surprises, unique culinary experiences, and intriguing flavor combinations to expand our palate. However, all the dishes at this establishment seemed basic, using common ingredients readily found in any restaurant. Singapore boasts a high standard of dining establishments, making it perplexing how this restaurant attained three stars; having visited over 15 Michelin-starred venues worldwide, we would rate this at most one star due to the lack of innovative solutions, interesting flavor pairings, or premium ingredients. Though some dishes showcased creative techniques, it was insufficient. Desserts were unremarkable, merely sweet cakes lacking balance or contrasting flavors to offset the sweetness. Service The service was inattentive, with dirty dishes left unattended on the table until a new dish was served. To sum up: Drawing from my extensive experience dining at Michelin-starred establishments, I can conclude that: - Service falls short of high standards - They don’t have their own toilet, only a shared one in the gallery, it takes 3 minutes to walk, where the cabins were found to be unclean. - The cuisine is simplistic, lacking fascinating flavor combinations, textures, or premium ingredients. Despite the $490 set menu price, the offering fails to reflect the expected quality. If you have visited most Michelin-starred restaurants in Singapore, a visit could be considered; however, if not, we do not recommend it. There are other establishments more deserving of your attention.
Be the first to ReplyBetter than Les Amis, not as good as Zen
This was the final three Michelin star restaurant we had to tick off in Singapore, and we’d say it’s more of Les Amis’ ilk than Zen’s. For us Zen is what we’re looking for, more contemporary. But Odette is more “classic” Michelin. So will depend on your tastes! Gripe first: even though, as with all three star restaurants, you often have to book months in advance for a reservation, Odette actually take a substantial deposit from your account. The money leaves your account. And it is non-refundable, even if you cancelled a minute later for a reservation in two months time. I have zero issue with holds being put on x amount and you needing to cancel a reservation with some notice, but this is militant. All sorts can change and it’s simply wrong to operate in this was. I’d have happily given them a 4/5, same as Les Amis, if not for this. I think we were also a little more disappointed here than at Les Amis because Odette is in the Top 50 restaurant list, which often bucks the Michelin trend and rewards contemporary places. This definitely more “French” aka stuffy and formal. Not necessarily bad, just not what we’re looking for first and foremost. All that said: great dinner! Really enjoyed it. We’d been to Zen the night before so it had a lot to live up to and it was not far off and, I think it’s worth stressing, mostly on subjective things. I can imagine some hating the music at Zen and loving it here. Service very professional and quite fun. I enjoyed asking the French sommelier for cheddar, red Leicester, and Stilton, when he just had Roquefort and some other rubbish from France. Food was very, very tasty. More drama than Zen, with smoke and table preparation, and that sort of thing. Doing dry January though and their non-alcoholic drinks very, very poor. We don’t necessarily mark them down for this, as it’s not uncommon, but in this day and age I think you really do need to offer more than a couple of sodas and a handful of non-alcoholic wines (urgh). We loved the decor, space, and view of the kitchen. Great location within the art gallery/museum. Finally, and sorry to keep comparing to Zen (that I’m clearly obsessed with), it was a lot cheaper than the dinner the night before. Which is good! If you like classic Michelin, by which I mean lovely white, pressed table cloths, cheese presentations, and fawning over bread, this is probably for you (better, I think, than Les Amis, even though I’ve scored them worse for their deposit policy).
Be the first to ReplyGood food
Beautiful food, beautiful dishes, but comparing to Europe, it should be 1 michelin star max. Nothing out of ordinary if you're a restaurant-goer. Friendly atmosphere. Very pricey
Be the first to ReplyAmazing attention to detail
Odette is pretty expensive, no doubt about it. Bit of a challenge to find a bottle of wine much under $1000. So this is not a place you'd go every week, but it's definitely a place you should go some time. Incredibly inventive food and presentation. So many little details. One tip - we semi-circumnavigated the Gallery trying to figure out how to get in. Turns out that most of the entrances we walked past assuming to be closed, were in fact open. You just have to open the door. Who'd have thought it. Not us :)
Be the first to Reply20th Wedding Anniversary Celebration @ Odette
I had the pleasure of celebrating my 20th anniversary at Odette and it was an exquisite culinary experience. The ambiance exuded elegant sophistication creating a perfect setting for an indulgent evening. The menu showcased a masterful blend of French flavors with innovative twists, each dish a testament to the chef's culinary artistry and showmanship. Impeccable presentation, attentive service, and a carefully curated wine list further elevated the dining experience. This restaurant is truly deserving of their 3 Michelin stars and World’s Best restaurant accolades.

WOW! Just wow… the food, the private room, the wine, the team. Odette is everything we had hoped for and more to celebrate a very special 50th birthday. The theatre behind the food is incredible and you can taste the passion in every morsel. So special.
Be the first to ReplyBeyond amazing
We had the most fabulous evening at this fine establishment. The food was delicious , the presentation was dramatic, and the service was divine. We’ve been to many three star Michelin restaurants and Odette is in a class by itself. Elegant but not stuffy. The staff was knowledgeable about the wine ( and the list is extensive). The add ons to the set menu are offered in an irresistible way, be careful, they do add up. Special shout out to Vanessa who went above and beyond!
Be the first to ReplyVery good quality but missing the "secret sauce"
The dining experience at Odette is exceptional - the food was really good, good presentation and strong service standards. However, I cannot justify the cost given what else is available worldwide at similar (if not lower prices) - consider Quay (Sydney), Gramercy Tavern (New York) or even Jaan (Singapore). The secret missing ingredient is the "story" from the staff - there is only a basic explanation provided in respect of each dish. I had to ask questions on the source of the ingredients etc. In other words, there is no emotional connection / journey built into the experience. As a simple example, Jaan (Singapore) was better experience and value for money - importantly, the Chef at Jaan comes to the table to present the main dish - an exceptionally nice touch that does not exist at Odette. Jaan also tells the story in respect of some of the dishes at least in terms of linking back to the Chefs heritage / upbringing in the UK - that connection is not sufficiently explored at Odette DURING the meal (NB: there is a lot of information on the website though)

Odette... this has been on my wish list for years even before Covid but I have never been able to book it... Now that I can, I must seize this opportunity... The menu is simple in terms of choice, either vegetarian or the standard 7 course selection. I have been to the sister restaurant "Louise" in HK a few times and let me just say without visiting Odette, the experience is not complete. While the smoked organic egg was also available in the "Louise" menu, the Rosemary smoked organic egg at Odette completely re-defines my interpretation of this dish. The smell, texture and taste of the whole experience brings me to another level. Yes, the one at Louise was good but this was exceptional. As I already had the pigeon at "Claudine" for lunch that day, the staff there was kind enough to replace that course with poularde de bresse which I appreciated. Other memorable dishes on the menu would be the Marukyo Uni and scottish blue lobster. Overall, the staff was attentive but I must say that the hefty corkage (without a 1 for 1 policy) is quite overwhelming. I also noticed that not many tables were opening/drinking wines which I thought was very unusual. Memorable moments do come with a price, and obviously an experience at Odette is of no exception, but nonetheless, it is an experience I am more willing to pay for... and I am glad I had it with 2 of my closest friends here. One last note, do arrive at the venue earlier as the National Gallery is also a place worth visiting before your gastronomic journey.

We tried the 7 courses, great ambiance chic and simple, 3 courses very amazing but a bit disappointed by the rest for the price. Good to try but we will not come back

Excellent ambience and service. Presentation of each item - visual, audio and taste of course. Try their 7 course Epicure menu. Need to book ahead. Great for lunch or dinner. Great for anniversary.

Be the first to ReplyHoneymoon dining ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Thank you Chef Adam Wan, John and team from Odette for the most magical experience. My husband and I celebrated our honeymoon in Singapore and this was the perfect meal. We dined with Odette for lunch in the main dining hall and went with the “Epicure” tasting menu + wine pairing. I made the reservation nearly 2 months out. Loved the story behind the restaurant. Each “Act” had a beautiful presentation, fresh ingredients with well balanced flavors. I particularly loved the “Mushroom tea,” Rosemary egg and Buttered Scallop. We 100% hope to be back and dine with you again some time in the future :)

1 of 3 restaurants with 3 michelin stars in singapore. From amuse bouche to petit fours, every dish is very good to excellent. The pigeon main is outstanding. My partner doesn’t eat dessert and the fruit platter put up is not as impressive as the best one from Chef’s table, Bangkok Very good service, though they forgot our tea at the end
Be the first to ReplyExcellent food - Staff went above and beyond
Went for a solo lunch - was given a ringside seat so that I could watch the kitchen in lieu of conversation. Each course was flavoursome and cooked to perfection - the morsels of squid accompanying the fish course almost melting in the mouth without a hint of rubberiness. Wine pairings were well matched and just the right side of novel for my palate, a good example being the enjoyable Savagnin's nutty almost sherrylike stylings alongside the chorizo accented smoked egg. Similar innovation was evidenced by the beetroot course - a variety of flavours to be explored, perhaps carefully if wearing a pale outfit! A minor hiccough was dealt with incredibly generously by the excellent team lead by JA. I will return as soon as their busy diary and my travels allow!
Be the first to ReplyOdette - Splendid after all these years
After a hiatus of 4 years, this was our second visit to Odette. Our concerns about the the service being snooty after their Michelin starred accolades proved to be unfounded, as the waiters were professional, discreet yet warm and hospitable. The quality of the food continues to impress, with so many new surprises (like the Basque Country Monfish) together with the old favourites (cue the Rosemary Smoked Organic Egg). The chef was sweet as always, and offered us a dessert surprise to help us celebrate our 15th anniversary… We’re looking forward to coming back here again to celebrate our 20th anniversary, but am pretty sure we will be tempted to visit before that!

That was the Experience of a lifetime. There are no word to describe how amazing each dish was, savorous, delicious, different, une explosion de saveurs. On the top of the quality of the food, each dish is served in a fabulous plate, with gorgeous cutlery. You want to take them all back home! The bread was croustillant! it is soft in all other restaurants in Sg! The best bread ever. Chek my iphone photos for the food experience!
The service was grandiose, professional but very friendly staff. To me it is not a 3 star Michelin but a 10 star restaurant!. Thank you Chef Julien and your amazing staff.
Amazing food, excellent service
After seeing the many positive reviews we finally were able to enjoy the food and service at what is clearly one of the best restaurants in Singapore. The tasting menu was creative and the flavors were fantastic. Finally, the service was one of the best experienced in Singapore if not the world.
Be the first to ReplyImpeccable service, amazing food. An evening to remember.
It was so good, I am not sure how can i describe it accurately to what she deserves!
The food was tasty (of course), with an element of surprise in every single course. Its amazing how they transformed the ingredients to elevate it all. Each dish was an art, a painting of its own. Even the bread was so yummy. The server had to remind me to go easy, else i would have trouble with the rest of the evening! The serving team was really good. Not one set of high level of service, but they read each table. So if you are a fun loving diner, even in a 3michellin star restaurant, just be yourself. The ladies can definitely crack some silly jokes here and there. We were geniunely surprised and impressed with how well-trained all the staff were. We were very fortunate to be served by Daniel and ZunHao. Probably bcos the chefs led by example. Both chefs Julien and Adam.
Thanks for surprising us with the bday wishes and allowing us to capture Chef Julien in our celebrations.
This is definitely the place if you wanted an experience that’s memorable and special. And oh, remember to make reservation early. I tried two mth before, but they only take reservations one mth before. They are as warm and personable when taking your reservations.
Amazing
Consistently excellent Asian food, nice cocktails & great service. Generally busy so recommend booking in advance.would definitely recommend to everyone!thank you!
Be the first to ReplyImpeccable food…and service!
While I’m tempted to write about the food, I have to first mention and applaud the exceptional service. Being left handed, waiters anywhere always get the cutlery setting wrong for me…but not at Odette! Goes to demonstrate their attention to detail which then reflects in their food! I can’t fault a single dish and we enjoyed every minute of our culinary experience! Special mention of the Hokkaido Uni & Washi Duo, the Normandy Brown Crab and the Rosemary smoked organic Egg! It was almost a three month wait for booking a table…but totally worth it! Bravo!

What a ride from start to finish. Every dish was amazing. Standouts include Marukyo Uni, Rosemary smoked organic egg, Kampot Pepper Crusted Pigeon, Basque Country Dover Sole and Scottish Scallop. Not to mention the great service and ambience. Definitely deserving of its 3 Michelin stars.
