It was recently renovated so everything inside is clean and fairly new. The service is fantastic, even though a few guys have a bit of Jersey attitude, and while they occasionally sound snarky they are always on point. You never wait for a thing. The food, well it's not Bobby Flay, but it's consistently great for the price. We nearly always get the filet. We picked broccoli this time to go with and didn't get mashed potatoes since the steak comes on a huge hash brown soaked in all the steak goodness and sauce, and found it (the broccoli) a bit below par comparatively. {Broccoli Rant} (It's just "sautรฉed" broccoli, so if the broccoli isn't great you can't do much with it. I would have at least trimmed off the brownish stalk ends,) and when I asked for butter on it when I ordered, I got the "it's on the table" aforementioned attitude, even though he went ahead and asked the chef to put it on there anyway. You had to cut it with the steak knife and had no seasoning on it at all. It came plain or garlic/oil and that often means olive which the hubby doesn't tolerate well in large amounts.... Anyway at $16 I was disappointed since I love broccoli. {/end broccoli rant} Everything else was fantastic. The steak was cooked perfectly, the bread they serve is phenomenal, and I always get the crรจme brรปlรฉe, which is pretty great here.

The food and service is amazing every single time we eat here. Ambiance relaxing. Definitely recommend!
Be the first to ReplyAte there last night 3/12.
It had been at least 20 years since I was in the place. The decor and style changed drastically. The bar looked completely different. I definitely liked the way it looked. Was seated immediately. I didn't need a menu because I had already looked at it outside. Glass of water was brought right away and refilled constantly without asking. Started off with the steakhouse salad. Could have easily just had that as my meal. Feeds 2 people very easily. Took about half of that with me. Decided to just go with a burger. It was enormously. Cooked perfectly to my specification of medium well. Accompanied with lettuce, tomato, pickles, red onions and giant onion rings. Really didn't need to order the fries. Took those back with me too. The only slip up is when the waiter asked if I wanted to see a dessert menu. I hadn't even gotten the burger yet. I thought that was funny anyway. I was too full and declined to have dessert. A very reasonable bill of $77. Just about a 25% tip. Left $100. All in all, a very good experience. Would not hesitate to go back again.
Be the first to ReplyFirst time at Old Homestead and it won't be the last.
We're from Wyoming so have eaten many good steaks, but never any better than here. Henry's menu knowledge was impeccable, service was top notch, conversation was engaging and we were more friends than customers as we departed.

I love the shrimp cocktail. It's a huge piece of shrimp for a good price.

Located in the Borgata Casino ; where you can conveniently self or valet park. A very large beautiful restaurant immaculately kept with wonderful menu. If you are looking for place to celebrate or have business meeting make this your place . Their signature rib steak was delicious perfectly prepared, caviar was set out and paired wonderfully with their fresh shucked oysters. Everything we tried was amazing and the staff was always willing to share an opinion when asked . The food ambiance and staff made it an enjoyable evening full of conversation and laughter. My gratitude and thanks.
Be the first to ReplyAbsolutely incredible steak.
Even better service. Thank you for such a great dinner experience
Be the first to ReplyI have eaten here quite a few times.
Usually very good. Had dinner there last night, sat pretty much right away, took about 10 minutes for someone to come over to the table. Waiter introduced himself, and helper. Took drink order, about 10 minutes later we got our drinks. Had to stop him and ask if we could order appetizers. Ordered shrimp and clams casino. Shrimp was very good. Clams casino was DISGUSTING!!!! raw, only ate the breading. Nobody even asked if they were ok?? Poor service!!! Was going to get the calamari. Lady next to us had some, we asked her how it was, she said don't get it, it's like chewing on rubber bands!!! Dinner was good, salmon, potatoes and spinach. New couple came in next to us and SAME WAITER WE HAD, came over and told them all about the SPECIALS!!! He never said a word to us about any specials!! No one ever asked if everything was ok!!! Service was HORRIBLE!! Food was ok, definitely NOT how it used to be!! Bill was about $210 for both of us. Normally I would leave between $75 and $100 for a tip , the guy last Night got less than $40. And he wasn't worth that!!! Go to the Italian restaurant in the borgota!! Don't waste your $$ here!!! Will never go back to this restaurant!! There are plenty more at the borgota, that are much better! With better service!!

My boyfriend and I came down for the night to see a show at Caesars and were spending the night at Borgata. My boyfriend has eaten at the Old Homestead in manhattan before, loved it so I made reservations for dinner here. Our waiter, Michael was fantastic. He made great suggestions on meal choice and also cocktails. We had an early reservation and were seated upstairs. The decor was very nice, atmosphere great and ambiance of the room and table setting was top notch. I did feel bad for the waiters as they had to keep going up and down the stairs for food and drinks. Now onto the menu. We started out with a choice of rolls (onion or cranberry nut roll) then into the apps. We chose the slab of bacon (2 slices) and it was excellent! Then we went onto the main meal. I ordered the 9oz filet mignon which came on top of a thick hash brown. Both were excellent. My boyfriend had the 16oz filet mignon and we got a side of lobster Mac and cheese. Everything was cooked to perfection and food was impeccable. A definite must.
Be the first to ReplyAwesome service (sat at bar).
Veal Chop and Rack of Lamb outstanding - just perfect. Oysters eh at best; not really shelled well. Pieces of shell and ya had to dig at the meat to get it. Just what you would and should expect from Old Homestead. Like.

Be the first to ReplyMade reservations (March16)at Borgata for my 60th birthday
Made reservations (March16)at Borgata for my 60th birthday and dinner at Old Homestead . Been kind of a tradition most years until the pandemic hit so was super excited to return . We arrived promptly at 8:55 for our 9:00pm reservation and wow what a big disappointment . Place has made some remodeling adjustments and tweaks and completely destroyed all of its intimacy . Gone are the days of walking down their sleek narrow and dimly lit entranceway . Accompanied with with nicely appointed backlighting illuminating the walls and floor of this sleek & beautifully crafted walkway to the host stand of this opulent restaurant . Sadly that wall has now been torn down to make way for a large crowded and deafening bar echoing the screeches and laughter of the patrons . No cushioned ceiling tiles or carpets to be found . We moved on to the new host stand where we were not even greeted by the snobbish black host who was to busy fiddling with his ear bud and jotting things down to notice us standing right in front of him . As i moved closer to him and said we were here for our 9pm reservation he finally told us it would be 15 min and to wait to the side . For a host being the first person you see in a restaurant he certainly was far from welcoming , quite standoffish ,dismissive and never smiling once . Now the young girl who took us to our table on the other hand was adorable , sweet ,bubbly and accommodating ..We were then greeted by a nice gentlemen , given the menus along with the wine list which is on an Ipad placed on the table . Not a mention of specials . Ice cold butter was then brought over with a choice of 2 underwhelming room temperature rolls one with nuts .(no mention about that to those with allergies ). Place was so chaotic and loud we could barely hear ourselves talking let alone here the waiter .. We ordered the 2 piece shrimp cocktail which came out frozen and went back ,the thick cut bacon (which was more like a pork belly )was so tough and chewy but we were so hungry we picked around the hard pieces and ate it . Then came my wedge salad . Single handedly the most disgusting presentation i've ever seen in my 60 years of fine dining . It wasn't a wedge it was half of a head of iceberg lettuce placed upside down on the plate like a helmet and then doused with so much blue cheese dressing that it was soaked and inedible . No crispy onion straws on top nor raw red onion just a rock hard plum tomato . Not even some warm crispy cut up pieces of bacon on top instead they threw a bunch of bacon bits on it from a jar .. To make matters worse the lettuce was room temperature not even crisp nor cold ...a disgrace . I asked to speak to a manager. The female manager that came over listened to what i was saying (impatiently) as i showed her the salad and she agreed . I explained how excited i was to come here for my birthday and then she took the plate away said she would take it off the bill and briskly walked away . No apologies whatsoever no acknowledgment of my birthday no "i'm so sorry can i get you a fresh one " nothing .. zilch . Oh wait she did say someone new was making the salads . (obviously). Regardless It was busy, she was frazzled and she was in no mood and let me know it . My friend who i was with picked up on her vibe and said she was quite snarky .. Honestly at this price point i wouldn't have even deemed her fit to manage a diner let alone a high end steakhouse . Truly despicable. We both ordered Filets which came out cooked wrong and mine was not even hot yet half grey and half pink . Mashed potato's arrived in what looked like black plastic dish form a dollar store or something you would get at the Cracker Barrel . Potatoes had no taste and no roasted garlic in them whatsoever tasted like they just tossed in cold minced garlic from a jar . Inedible . I called over a different gentlemen in a suit whom ended up being an assistant manager . This man was professional ,kind ,agreed the steak was cooked wrong , asked if i wanted a new one (which i declined ) brought me a creme brรปlรฉe for dessert and took my entire dinner and drink off the check . He was wonderful ..I couldn't have cared less about the money it was the whole experience that tainted a very important birthday . Sadly i will now always remember this story when people ask me what fabulous thing i did for my 60th . Shame on you Homestead i hope you respond back to me with that female managers name because she had such attitude and was so flippant i would never return when she was there . Your an extremely expensive and high end restaurant i never in my life expected this level of service and presentation of food. Even your signature drink was served to me in a tumbler glass you would give a small child a glass of milk in . It should have been served in a wine goblet . Please get it together Homestead you we're always one of my favorites .
Be the first to ReplyHere in Atlantic City this weekend celebrating my husband's
Here in Atlantic City this weekend celebrating my husband's 50th. We went to Old Homestead at the Borgata. The food was absolutely delicious. The rolls pictured are an onion. They do have rolls with walnuts but we passed on those being we do not like nuts. The onion soup was excellent. I highly recommend. I ordered the chicken parmesan. It comes with pasta but I substituted the garlic mash potatoes in its place. You can do any substitution at no upcharge on their side dish list with the exception of the lobster Mac and cheese. There is an upcharge for that side dish which is understandable. My husband ordered the 16 oz filet. He said it was the best he ever had. The side sauces are very, very good. Their signature steak sauce is a definite bonus. Very flavorable. It's a cross between a steak sauce and BBQ sauce. We split the brownie and Blondie Bombshell. The ice cream is Ben and Jerry's. The service was impeccable. Everyone was very nice and attentive. I give this place an A+++. If you're in Atlantic City, and want a very nice romantic dinner, I would not recommend bringing children however, I would definitely recommend. We look forward to going back.
Be the first to ReplyOne of the best steakhouses I have ever visited.
There were a lot of that ordered everything from steaks to salads. I have a hard time voting for what was best because it was all so good! The crab appetizer was perfect, the arugala salad with goat cheese was beyond, the cake portions were insane, and the steak... Oh the steak! Wow!The place is a beautiful, cozy, very high end steak house. Yet, it wasn't pretentious. We were welcomed and made to feel very comfortable by our friendly and good sense of humor servers. Their positive mood certainly helped the atmosphere. This is certainly the best place in Borgata, and arguably in all of Atlantic City.

Love this place love the food and love the decor of the place.. . I eat here everytime I stay at the borgata, the waiters and buss people are top notch! I also go to the NYC location...
Be the first to ReplyPricey and ok tasting, I still enjoyed the service and food.
I really like their bread and butter. I ordered the burger and it was good but not worth $40.

I've heard about this restaurant for many years but never had the opportunity to try it until this weekend. We were a party of 8 and were promptly seated. The staff seemed a bit overwhelmed, and it took a while for our drink orders. Appetizers came out in a timely fashion and were overall well received. For a main, many of us had the 9 ounce filet. I was disappointed in my rare filet, as it was dry and lacking flavor. The wine recommended by Oscar was delicious, and the creme brulee was delish. Overall, I'd say it was just average, and next time we're at the Borgata, I'll go back to the American Bar and Grill where we had a far superior experience.

Ate at Old Homestead tonight and the food was superb! Beef carpaccio was phenomenal. Fried calamari was butter! Thick bacon to die for! Mozzarella and peppers perfect! Chilean Sea Bass, Gotham Rib Steak and Sirloin were exquisitely prepared. Crรจme brรปlรฉe, cheesecake and strawberry shortcake were all incredible!!! And the service by Chip and Jeff was nothing less than professional!!! We will be back again and again!!!
Be the first to ReplyMy husband and I were staying at the Borgata.
Instead of gambling more I decided to treat myself to a nice dinner. I was dining alone as my husband wasn't feeling well. I did not have a reservation but I was able to be seated immediately on a Friday night at 7:30. It wasn't the best table but that is understandable, it was adjacent to the waiter station so a lot of traffic. I ordered the New York Sirloin (strip) medium rare $68, a Caesar salad $15 and an Old Fashioned $15. Hector was my waiter. Steak was cooked correctly and a sizable portion, Caesar salad was huge. Food was good but not any better than you can get elsewhere for half the price. So, I am paying for superior service, right? Not this time. My used plates from bread and butter and used water glass were not cleared from table until I was finished with my meal, even though I set them all together at the edge of the table. Many waiters and busboys walked by and ignored them. I would have liked a 2nd cocktail with my dinner but no one ever came by to ask. I mentioned this when they brought the check. It was 20 minutes without any attention
Be the first to ReplyGreat spot for a decent meal in AC.
We had a calamari starter, filet and lamb. Everything was delicious and the service was efficient. The bar area certainly wasn't as cozy as the back but overall, a nice dinner.

This was one of the best food experiences I've had in a while. Yes, it's pricey but so worth it. Wait staff were very professional and the service was great. I started with the steakhouse salad which could feed 2-3 easily. Simple romaine salad but a tangy 1000 island dressing, bacon bits, small fried onions, and Parmesan shavings. The entree was a nine ounce filet with a perfect hash brown underneath. The small about of sauce on the plate gave a little sweet and sour taste that complimented the steak perfectly. I should not have gotten the garlic mashed potatoes. Not because they were bad (they were perfect), but I just didn't have enough room for it all. Old Homestead blows B-Prime away!!!!!!!
Be the first to ReplySpent over 250 dollars and the food got us all sick.
It was like ordering a steak at McDonalds. Very very disappointing and it ruined our vacation. Dont eat here unless you feel like spending a night in the bathroom. Cant even call this dump. They should be ashamed for serving food like this. Please stay away
