They're open in a new location on Main & Power, where the old JB's was. Like with everything, the prices have increased. As far as the food, it doesn't seem as good as before when they were located inside Superstition Springs Mall. The owner told me they were able to bake the fish instead of frying it, but it still came out fried. Not sure if I'll come back.

First time at OSG 12/22/23 at their new location, Power and Main. Fish fry, excellent fish, fries just right (not overdone), clam chowder very good. Our server was very friendly and engaged with her guests. The place was clean and orderly. Lot's of movie memorabilia. All around great experience. We will be back.
Be the first to ReplyNot a good place to spend your time or money on.
The owners are not responsible or respectable people. The food is ok but will most likely give you heartburn. The look of the restaurant itself is like a child made it up, toys everywhere nothing is cohesive just random crap everywhere you look. Save your money for more respectable establishments!

We were so excited to watch the steeler game at this new steeler restaurant with a nice full bar. Turns out they don't have the sports package so no steeler football at the steelers bar! We decided to we might as well eat, the homemade corned beef hash and biscuits and gravy sounded pretty good. Yeah, my corned beef hash clearly came out of a can. Total rip off. The gravy was pretty bland and I wouldn't be surprised if it came out of a jar. The homeboy potatoes had no seasoning or crisp at all! Straight up plain boiled potatoes. Pass on this place. The food just isn't good enough to make up for the lack of football.

It was like on AGT when the package is beautiful but the voice is bad. The atmosphere and decor are fun and lively. There was a live music in the bar area and we enjoyed that even in the dining room. However, when two of our choices were not available, we had to opt for second and third choices. The food was mediocre. The sides were out of cans and bags. My sandwich came plain on a plate, no garnish, no sauce on the side. Just two halves of a sandwich on a plate. They forget to bring out our salads. This after two of the wait staff were arguing over whose table we were ... in front of us. That was awkward. Would I go back? Hmmm .... Not for the food but maybe to hang out and listen to the music with friends.

Old School Grub is a mom & pop joint located in the old Ruby Tuesday's spot in the Superstition Springs Mall. The decor is vintage chotchkies, and boy, there are a ton! Everything about the place is comfort nostalgia. I swear that everyone, customers and employees, were singing along to the tunes that played throughout the place. Then at noon, Chuck Peterson and his Strat arrived for some live tunes. Sundays are bloody mary bar days, but they're not my thing. However, they had a mimosa flight for $9.99, which was three mimosas of your choice. Mr. P and I split the first three: peach, prickly berry and pomegranate. Super tasty. There was a dessert bar with servers of tasty looking cakes and confections on top. I eyed a coconut cream pie, but my diet couldn't let me do it!I ordered the charcuterie board. All out. (They just opened for the day.) I ordered an aloha burger with no bun and cottage cheese as the side for an extra $2. The aloha was a burger patty with BBQ sauce, gouda, ham and a pineapple slice. Mr. P ordered the Philly with tots and ranch. The have Pepsi products here. The food took so long that we may have had another flight of mimosas, this time raspberry along with the prickly berry and pomegranate. There were three other occupied tables. The burger was actually really good. Would have been better if there was BBQ sauce on it as advertised. And out of cottage cheese. I only noticed after we already paid that I was still charged for it. Mr. P said his Philly was excellent, but his ranch never arrived either. From reading other reviews, I'm guessing that they haven't gotten the hang of adequate ordering yet, because they're always out of things, despite the time of day.The owners Frank & Carlotta were present throughout the business, and they were actually visually familiar to us from patronizing a restaurant in AJ. They never stopped by any of the tables, which is fine, but at a mom & pop, it's always a nice hometown touch. We would try this place again, but we were disappointed by the inattention to our meals and bill. Our server was very friendly, but I was bummed out. But please, do buy local. If you're in the mall, definitely stop in.
Be the first to ReplyI will try this place again.
I wasn't really happy with my meal but it was liver and onions so it's a hard thing to find and so it's kinda iffy when you do. It was way more than the 6 ozs it says it was but it was pretty low grade liver. Totally understand. Who eats that anymore?. Old people. It wasn't bad just really grisly . Didn't get my salad. The service was great. Loved our waiter. Drinks were good and there was entertainment. We will go back for sure. I want to try so many things on the menu. Eggs Benedict , sandwiches, and so much more. All in all we had a good time. We won't give up on this place. It has definite potential.

This place was okay the food was the chicken sandwich was inedible as a burger tho it was the size of a mega steak and the mushroom burger was nothing to brag about. The chicken was okay tho so was the mac n cheese and fries. I try to keep my reviews positive especially small businesses but today was just not it as well as an unexceptional amount of ants crawling around on our table. The waitress that was serving us however was very kind and understanding.

Ordered the bacon cheeseburger , pastrami grilled sandwich and a side of onion rings. All very tasty and would highly recommend Old School Grub from the young man who assisted me in taking my order who was very helpful and pleasant to the ambiance which was very fun.
Be the first to ReplyMy husband and I decided to go here for date night.
Shannon was our waitress and she was great! My husband couldn't decide between the bbq bacon burger or the pastrami burger. Shannon said they're both pretty good so he went with the bbq bacon. The pastrami sounded delicious so that's what I got. Hubby asked for house-made chips and I got the fries. Everything was delicious and cooked just right. Hubby doesn't like pickles so he gave me his. The pickles are thick cut, sweet and slightly spicy. Shannon said those are house-made and you can buy a container of them. Maybe next time. It was also karaoke night so that was fun too. Thanks OSG!

My boys brought me here for Mother's Day lunch, this was my second visit, their first. We had a fabulous time!!!! Unfortunately, we just missed breakfast, but I was still able to get a Mimosa. The staff is absolutely on point and very attentive, that speaks volumes because it was pretty busy. I ordered a taco salad, and every bite was absolutely delicious, the shell was full to the brim with goodness, salsa came on the side. The manager brought over a carnation and gave it to me in honor of Mother's Day, I thought that was incredibly sweet! It was totally unexpected. My boys truly enjoyed their meals, just as much as I enjoyed mine. They were completely intrigued by the interior decor, and it was fun to see their reactions. We will definitely be back; I still need to try your eggs benedict!!!
