Did not live up to its reputation
My steak was chewy. The baked potato was swimming in butter and nearly inedible. Service by overworked waitstaff was fine. Enormous cheesecake was fabulous. Coffee was weak.

A โmust haveโ in your belly. Papas is a stop we make every time we go to Dallas, which is about once a month. Incredible steaks at very reasonable prices for the quality. Service is accurate and friendly. The kitchen works together well because we never hear them and itโs an open kitchen.
Be the first to ReplyThe best steak I have ever had. Ever.
I travel for work and pleasure extensively, and this by far was the best steak I have ever had in my life. Dry aged ribeye, MR. Together with an oyster sampler (3 East Coast varieties) and a wedge salad. My server Brandon was beyond exceptional. This is a five star, very highly recommended without reservation.

The place is very refined. They pay attention to the smallest details. From the point of view of serving, it is above Puter Luger and Gallaghers in NY, The Capital Grille in Las Vegas or Nadaman in Hong Kong. I appreciated the fact that shortly after our order was taken, one of the managers came to our table and we talked a bit. And I was truly impressed by the care with which he supervised that the steak was made according to my requirements, before it was portioned. And the porterhouse is one of the best I've ever eaten. The steak fries didn't live up to the restaurant's claims, but that's not important. Potatoes are not the main hero here. Milk Chocolate Mousse and Toasted Marshmallow and New York Style Cheesecake were 10, as was the steak (on a scale from 1 to 10). All of this definitely defines it as one of the best profile restaurants in the world. Last but not least, we were satisfied with the price-quality ratio. I dined at more famous restaurants, with prices higher than those here but with much lower standards than Pappas Bros. Steakhouse.

Big shout out to Adam for the great dining experience! I can't wait to bring friends the next time I am in town. Perfect service, perfect food!
Be the first to ReplyPompous, moi?
Pretentious, moi? This is called a steak house. The 16 oz "prime" strip steak could not have weighed more than 10 oz but that was a good thing. It was so tough that it was nearly impossible to chew. 16 oz. would have broken all of my teeth. The wine list was ridiculously pretentious with dozens of bottles priced above $1,000, and several above $5,000. The "sommelier" helped us navigate through with his condescending descriptions of the tastes of each wine. I would love to give him a blind taste test. I do not object to high prices, but I do expect some value for my money.

Absolutely perfect for a Corporate Dinner. We are a company outside of Massachusetts and we were originally scheduled to have a business meeting/dinner there in February and because of an ice storm we had to reschedule. My contact Mary was more than accommodating helping me plan it all to start and then helping me reschedule to a new date. The private room was beautiful, felt like a real traditional steakhouse. The fireplace lounge area was a perfect touch. Also the screen to project during dinner was a nice touch. They had someone on hand to help us set up the AV and all of the staff were more than gracious. Wonderful attentive service and delicious food - our employees loved it all! Perfection!

We are currently travelling around the US as part of our honeymoon. We also have our 11 month old with us. We decided to go to Pappas Bros for our last night in Dallas and for our big meal out and we werenโt disappointed! Straight off the bat, this place is pricey, itโs for special occasions. However you certainly get what you pay for in every aspect, service, attention to detail, quality of food, surroundings, everything. Our server Katy, was absolutely amazing, making us feel straight at ease (having a toddler on a meal out is always a trip in to the unknown) explaining everything but giving us space when needed. She went above and beyond, even giving us a sample of the Lobster bisque as we had mentioned we had it on our wedding menu. At the end of the meal we had absolutely no room for the amazing looking desserts but she prepared us a piece of cheesecake with a special message in Chocolate, which she boxed up for us and let us take with us. The food was amazing. The portions are crazy big (coming from the UK) and everything was delicious, especially the Crab and Mac. Thank you for giving us a lovely send off from the amazing Dallas, we canโt wait to come back.
Be the first to ReplyRacist? NOT Deserving of Accolades
Pappas was rated the best steakhouse in Dallas on recent TripAdvisor and D Magazine list. We had already tried a few of the steakhouses on the list, so we were excited to try the #1 steakhouse on the list. My husband and I (Asian couple) made a reservation for 5pm on Saturday night. When we arrived, the place was fairly empty. The hostess greeted us right away and walked us the entire length of the restaurant passing many empty tables and seated us at the back of the restaurant - cordoned off from the main dining area. We thought it strange that they would seat us so far back but decided to make the best of it. The service was fine, with only one of the staff bring a bit abrupt/rude while he delivered the food to the table. Others were pleasant enough. The food was good, but not amazing. The steaks were rather salty and the sides were fairly bland. The dinner came out to be $300 for the two of us. This was NOT an experience worthy of all the accolades given as the #1 steakhouse in Dallas! We were first to be seated in this area and as the dinner rolled on, we noticed other tables around us being seated. Funny enough, they were all Asians. I joked with my husband that perhaps this was the minority section thinking this was just a coincidence. NOT! As we were leaving - walking the entire length of the restaurant, we noticed that there wasn't a single Asian customer seated in the main dining area. They were all seated in the back, in the cordoned area. Something seemed a bit off so I searched the Yelp reviews and saw others had commented about the same experience - minorities were sat in the back. Some even wrote about discriminate service - where they were ignored by wait and management staff while all the other tables around them received full service. These complaints go years back it seems. Needless to say, we will certainly not go back. Perhaps Pappas has so much business that they don't really give a bleep about losing minority customers. That's their prerogative I suppose. But one thing is for sure! Pappas does not embrace the spirit of Dallas and should not be given the recognition as best of Dallas in any list! Rather, they are an embarrassment to the Dallas culture! I hope TripAdvisor does a bit more research and remove them from all of their recommended lists until they fully address their racist business practice. Dallas has many fantastic restaurants more worthy!

Excellent steak and appetizers. Server was outstanding. We were given a booth after a short wait and the waiter was incredible. He obviously cared about his tables and made sure they were taken care at a very high level. Great steak and seafood
Be the first to ReplyOutstanding service & terrific food
We started our fabulous dinner with a Caesar Salad , their fantastic hot bread & a glass of wine. We had our fantastic food server, Vanessa. We ordered filet mignon 10 oz,, veal chop, crab mac & cheese And garlic spinach. Everything was outstanding! Meats all cooked to perfection! We shared 1 key lime pie & vanilla ice cream for dessert! It was a delicious dinner. We sat ij the Fireside Lounge dining room and enjoyed every minute of our dining experience!!!

Great service from start to finish. All the staff were friendly and knew their roles very well. Wine was very good and the steaks were the best I've had, perfectly cooked. When they were brought to the table they had just come off the grill. Very tasty! Sides are big enough to share and the desserts were incredible. A cut above from the beginning to end, I would definitely go back. The hustle and bustle along with the noise kinda adds to the total experience.

I was unsure what to expect with a fancier place like this. It was excellent. The service was top notch. The waiter and the sommelier both had excellent knowledge of the wines. Portions were huge. Steaks were so tender and cooked perfectly. They were excellent that night and great for breakfast the next day. Worth the vacation splurge.
Be the first to ReplyWell thought of steak and sides cooked to perfection with the pricing to match.
Business meeting with out of town guest. The filet was outstanding and the sides were good. The sides are meant too be shared, so you shouldn't order as if they were only for one person. (Lesson learned.) Our meal included the steaks, mushrooms and asparagus. I was a bit surprised that the mushroom were not sliced and sautรฉed in butter but presented as whole mushrooms in a sauce. Note that there were a lot of mushrooms in that side disk, more than 3 of us could eat. With a glass of wine each, and a split dessert, the bill was more than $368 not including tips. A little pricey in my opinion, but the food and table were very nice for doing a business dinner.
