Pata Cafe Queens Reviews from The Last Year
Went to Pata Cafe for lunch in Elmhurst, Queens, NY.
Looking for authentic Thai? You'll find dishes here that are hard to find in the . NY Times and Michelin recommended for casual authentic Thai fare. Had Thai Lychee tea and Yum Woon Sen. Sweet and complex flavor for the tea. Spicy, tangy, earthy and herby flavors for the dish. Too full for dessert! Wife had the beef soup. Only seats 12 people max. Cash or Venmo only. Lots of free street parking on a Saturday. Can't wait to go back!
Elmhurst is Teeming with Affordable Michelin Spots!
Elmhurst is Teeming with Affordable Michelin Spots! Foodie alert - within the neighborhood of Elmhurst is the highest concentration of current and past Michelin Bib and Michelin Star (Zabb Elee, formerly) in NYC. And here's another one, Pata Cafe. Located deep in the residential area in Elmhurst, this eatery is authentic Thai in its food, decor and ambience like I'm back in Chiang Mai once again. It's a mother and daughter duo business, where mom is from the northern Issan region and daughter grew up in Bangkok, resulting in dishes that are middle of the road delicious that's neither cloyingly sweet (typical Bangkok fare) nor overly spicy (typical Issan fare). It's been reviewed by New York Times @ligayamishan and awarded the Michelin Bib. Kop khun ka, Pata Cafe! #curious_eater #michelinbibgourmand #michelinguide #michelinnewyork #newyorktimesfood

This cafe is located at the end of a residential block, and I could never think it's a restaurant there. This place looks like a convenience store with rustic art installation. In fact, they do sell lottery tickets here!! The store has a mosaic wall of scrap wood, an array of objects like you find in a museum that includes buckets, silverware, books, statues of the Buddhas, and some plants. The food doesn't look like it includes a ton of ingredients but is packed with a punch of flavor. We asked for spicy and we didreceived it, one person at the table wasn't able to handle it, and that one person wasn't me. This michelin guide restaurant was run by an older lady by herself. We tried 2 entrees, 2 appetizers, and a cold coffee, all of which were amazing. If you are in Queens and want to get some great Thai food in a NYC residential neighborhood, look no further. It's much easier to find street parking here!
I may have to come back and try other dishes.
The chicken with my rice tasted old. The grill chicken was really good. Service very good. Like I said, I have try other dish and give a better feel. Price for the food seem high. Cheers!
I live in the area so I've been here so many times.
The quality and taste is very consistent. Authentic thai food, affordable price and very friendly staff. I always get the Thai tea. Pata Cafe always delivers, never disappoints! I uploaded their most updated menu as of August 2023
Thai food in an inconspicuous place and neighbourhood
40.732623 -73.876791 this 10-seat Thai restaurant in a residential area of Elmhurst, Queens became world-famous for its Michelin 2019-2022 Bib Gourmand and a good review in the New York Times. It is not a fancy place but a very practical one-room café and kitchen. No alcohol and no napkins. Restroom is the staff’s restroom. Only cash and Venmo are accepted. In June 2023, we ordered Ga Prao Kai Dow: spicy beef with bird’s eye chili, holy basil topped with a fried egg and served over jasmine rice. While we were waiting briefly, a man and woman at the next table were telling each other their life stories. Fortunately, the service was quick. The beef with chili was not too hot and tasted excellent. Staff did a good job with limited command of the English language. Pata Café serves excellent Thai food in an inconspicuous place and neighbourhood. Recommended.
Wow ... the food was amazing.. a no frills hold on the wall
Wow ... the food was amazing.. a no frills hold on the wall spot with great Thai food ... I love they made my food spicy upon request.. Can't wait to go back
A cozy little Thai cafe with friendly service.
A great place to catch up with a friend for a quiet conversation. The menu is small but everything we've tried has been tasty and reasonably priced. If you're a fan of Queens' multicultural vibe, you'll enjoy hanging out here.

I posted a request for a reservation this Thursday between 6:30 and 8 pm and initially the potential seller said it would be fulfilled by today. Now they changed it that they will only fulfill it by 5pm that same day. Basically I would have an hour and a half to get to the restaurant. Is this allowed?

@AssuringStretch11 It's definitely within your rights to tell the potential seller that the new arrangement doesn't work for you and ask them to stop working on your bid if that's all they can guarantee. Perhaps another seller can step in and do better for you. Also, in general you're allowed to ask someone holding your bid to stop working on it at any time and cancel it.
