Above average wood fired Neapolitan.
I just wished crust could be bit more crispy. Must get the "Hellboy" and their OG Arugula salad. Good choices of cocktail and wine. My server, she was extremely polite and responsive. Parking in the area is somewhat difficult and meters up till 10pm.

Stopped by with my daughter and although the door was unlocked, it looked like the place was closed. As we walked toward the back, I noticed someone behind the pizza making counter and asked him if they were open... twice. Both times he just gave my daughter and me a death stare and said nothing. Maybe I'm missing something about that day but my daughter is terrified now and doesn't want to go back. It's a shame because the pizza is great. Go to the slice shop instead. Much friendlier there.

Hands down (as of right now) my favorite pizza restaurant in the city... I've been several times and I have to say my favorite pizza they have is the Hellboy, which has pepperoni and hot honey (among a few other spices/toppings). Ambiance and service are also fantastic, it feels like walking into a cozy time machine as you sit in the dimly lit seating area, never too far from the woodfire oven in the background. Not to mention they have fantastic beer to go along with the pizza and the prices are extremely reasonable -- can't recommend this place enough!

Also packed with a line outside the door for late lunch - but the interior is spacious with also outdoor seating! We got the Hell Boy and Mutz, which was a lot flavorful than a typical white pie with a great oomph from the garlic. We've tried the Hell Boy slice at MSG but getting it fresh and hot here is best - the sesame dough crunch is unreal!

Recently reopened under same management who runs Skinny Dennis and Rocka Rolla. I really enjoyed my time there a couple Fridays ago when they had a country music DJ playing excellent classic country hits. When sitting at the bar, it feels a little awkward because the bartenders are so high above you. Service was very friendly and welcoming. Unfortunately, drink prices here are a little higher than their other bars, but not too expensive. I didn't order any pizza since I couldn't eat an entire pie on my own. It would be great if they also sold pizza by the slice. I would return if they have another country night.

Pizza and service were awesome but the wait time was outrageous. Not sure if it was worth the wait but it was definitely good pizza.

Music was very loud because of a kid's birthday party when I get there, but the staff were super nice lower it so I can hear my boyfriend talking again. Food is good, pizza is lighter on salt. I like the drink choice too
Be the first to ReplyNothing special artisanal type pizza.
Certainly not bad, but nothing outstanding. Dr Browns HDCS sodas. Very slow kitchen for the size of the retsaurant.
Be the first to ReplyI'm not a huge pizza person but oh my god.
Each pizza we ordered, I mean every single one, was perfect & so unique. I couldn't get over the flavor profile. Also best Pepperoni pizza I've ever had = hellboy (doesn't have the conventional taste). Good vibes inside, super cute place! Slowish service but it's not a big deal especially with good company (: and since it was so busy inside!

I like in the description of Paulie Gee's that they say, "Notable Vegan Options" because they do have some great pies. 45 minute wait for table was worth the wait. We started with arugula salad with vegan Parmesan and it was wonderful. Followed it with two pies, the Vegan Regina and In Cotta Da Vegan. Both were excellent as we passed slices around our shared table. Service was spot on with timing and beverage refills. Very nice dining experience.

They offered to put honey on my pizza, but I'm too set in my ways to even consider such a wild gamble.

My favorite place near Homewood campus for delish pizza night with friends! Great for large groups, because they don't take reservations and are quick to serve the table. The six of us devoured four pizzas, including two large ones so come with an empty stomach and enjoy!
Be the first to ReplyI would recommend this place 10 times over.
The wait was a little long as they did not offer reservations but there was enough around the area that we were not just sitting there waiting on our table! When you walk in it feels old, rustic and amazing! The pizza was probably the best pizza I had ever had. It was delish New York style pizza with the most amazing toppings! The server was great and was checking on everyone multiple times throughout the night. These three pizzas were absolutely incredible and I am probably going to dream about them!
Be the first to ReplyCame here based on reviews, recommendations, and articles
Came here based on reviews, recommendations, and articles on pizza places to try in nyc. I must say it didn't blow my mind, but it did meet my expectations. When you first locate the place, it looks like a warehouse based on the front door. However, when you get past the door, it's much different from what you perceive it to be on the inside. There's a big white pizza oven right smack in the back room. They have all these awards displayed in the lobby. Look for the dessert menu on a chalkboard by the entrance of the bathroom. For the table, we ordered the hot honey sundae. I got pizza off their menu, and I was able to finish it for the most part. Each pie is a personal pan, and there's vegan ones, too. The one that I got was called Hellboy, which had fresh mozzarella, Italian tomatoes, soppressata picante, and Mike's hot honey. For dessert, we ordered for the table - Mike's Hot Honey Sundae, which comes with vanilla ice cream, Mikes hot honey, and candied pecans. The ice cream definitely hit the spot. I would order a different pizza next time as they have a large list, and many sound really good.

One of best slices I've ever had but all four of us that ate a slice came down with diarrhea. Weird... it was so good I'll give it another shot. Maybe the sauce or cheese was left out too long.
Be the first to ReplyI never realized pizza could be this good.
This is the best I've ever had in my life. I ordered the Hellboy, which is a pepperoni pizza with hot honey. The pepperoni was very delicious, and you could actually taste the fat in it which was quite unique. This savory flavor pairs perfectly with the honey's sweetness. If you're looking for the best pizza in New York, this could be it.
Be the first to ReplyBeen dying to go here at the reco of a friend.
Unfortunately, while the Ricotta da Vita had all the stuff to make a tasty pie, the Ricotta dollops were cold balls that didn't warm up in the oven. Kinda brought what could have been a 10 pizza down to a 3. Service and atmosphere were good. Though my friend who arrived 10 minutes early would not get seated until I arrived. The place was empty so that was a bit odd.

Had a Canadian tourist with us yesterday, and he was craving pizza. Had to make a pit stop at one of the best pizza joints in NYC. We tried to get into Pauly Gee's in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. However, we weren't down for a 2.5-hour wait for a table. Wow, they are BUSY! Instead, we hit up their slice shop a few blocks away, which had only a 15-minute wait. Saturday night, pizza was off the hook, and they had limited availability. My family got some slices while I was to told they're out of all 3 vegan ones, so I decided to just chill with them as they ate. I'm allergic to dairy, so vegan or bust for me. The staff was super nice and found us a table by the bar. This is an old-school dive. They had 80s videos playing on the TV. The cashier comes out and puts a vegan special slice in front of me hot out of the oven, no charge! It was incredible. Didn't have to shake on any pizza spices. Me? I prefer a garden in my pizza, but for typical pizza, this was my favorite rivaling Screamers in NYC.Great experience! We will be back.
Be the first to ReplyWe came here on a Monday night and were seated quickly.
Highly recommend the hot honey pies and getting the chili oil on the side (Neffy's porkpie was my favorite). The crust was fluffy and had substance, though I wish there was more sauce for some of the pies. They have a wide variety with fun items on the menu like the Xian chili pie and one with sake reduction, which I want to try next time. We tried the one with the grapes thinking it would be cool, but may have been better off without it.

Paulie Gee's is a must try when making your way through the best NYC pizza spots. I walked in around 9 PM on a weeknight and was able to get seated right away. The ambience was lively and our server was very helpful and friendly. The top 2 vegetarian pies we were recommended were the Sake mountain way with mushrooms and the Better off Veg and those are the ones we went with. Both were delicious - the toppings were fresh and flavorful and the crust was chewy and perfectly charred. I didn't taste much of a sake flavor in the sake mountain way, but it was delicious regardless. 2 pizzas was more than 2 of us could finish in one sitting, but I'm definitely not complaining as they made for delicious leftovers. Paulie Gee's is definitely worth a visit both for the fun pizza variations and the excellent service / ambience.
Be the first to ReplyGreat pizza shop.
My vegan friend tried their vegan slice and said it was one of the best he'd had. Always busy
