Too bad. Avoid it!!
A very bad experience. A turist trap. No one comes again. The owner is rude and the food is uneatable. It took a long time for the food to come and the burguers were literally black. We had to scrap the top to reach “clear” meat. The french fries were almost orange due to the oil not being changed reocurringly. Avoid it if you can!
Be the first to ReplyDefinitely not Happy Hour!
Posters outside the bar said happy hour. Beers $6, wine $7.50. Entrance had a poster telling us to enter by the next door restaurant. We ordered 2 beers and 2 glasses of wine. The waiter went to the next door bar to get our drinks. He then charged us $65 for the 4 drinks. Not a good advert for Dumbo. Ask the price before you order!

Wow, what a terrible experience! We came with a small group from the Brasil Summer Fest nearby, because we saw that they had a tv at the bar with the soccer match on. Upon entering, we said to the owner we were happy they had the game on and one in my party said “there’s a lot of Brazilians here!” to which the owner replied, “Yeah… too many” What?! We still went in since there didn’t seem to be another bar around playing the game. We asked if they could turn the TV volume on and the owner said sure. We entered the (completely empty) bar and the bartender rudely told us “you need to order before sitting” and barked “what do you want?” before we even saw the menu. It only got worse from there… a few more Brazilians came and someone politely asked “how about the volume?” The owner turned the volume up but had music blasting so we still couldn’t hear. Again someone asked if we could lower the music and the owner said “you’re asking for too much. We’re not doing that.” He then started gleefully rooting for the opposing team, which as far as I could tell, he was doing just to be a jerk. After my friends cried out during a play, he turned to me and said “you must not be Brazilian… that’s why you’re quiet” like?? If you don’t want to hear people’s voices don’t run a bar? Also it’s really gross to disrespect your customers’ nationality, which he did again and again. He seems to enjoy making people unhappy and truly, truly doesn’t belong in customer service. As one of our group said: perhaps a better job for him would be working in a morgue. Whatever terrible thing is going on in his miserable little life, I pray things get better for this petty tyrant.
Be the first to ReplyThe best breakfast
We went here before walking over the Brooklyn Bridge and we all agreed this topped all of the breakfasts we had on our ten day trip. I had the mushroom toast and I still think about it!
Be the first to ReplyWe rode our bikes from UWS
We rode our bikes from UWS to Dumbo and we stumbled upon this lovely little spot. Our server Lideo was most delightful and accommodating! I had fallen while clipped in and was instantly bruised, Lideo couldn’t do enough for me with ice bags and elevating my leg in an extra chair while we enjoyed our lunch of a great rotisserie chicken salad With roasted pepper pesto, yum! I had the guacamole salad which was so delicious and the Brooklyn Kolsch Captain Lawrence draft. So good we rode back this week to taste it all over again!
